HVAC SYSTEM DESIGN:The HVAC was designed based on the highly efficient nature of SIP homes due to their tight air feature. One dual speed heat-pump unit conditions the air with one thermostat control on the main floor. A stratus fan runs 24-7 circulating air from both floors maintaining constant uniform temperatures all year long. Fresh air is brought in utilizing a heat recovery system whenever a bathroom exhaust fan is activated. During the winter, if a fireplace is used, that heated area also circulates thru the Stratus fan thus heating the entire house. If power goes out, the back-up generator keeps the air system working, maintaining controlled temperatures during both summer and winter weather.
