Committed to glorifying God, the Youth Ministry of Sardis Presbyterian Church exists to accept, engage, and nurture all youth and their families in order that they become disciples of Christ and serve the Lord. SardisYouth April 2015 @ On Sunday, March 22, the Youth Ministry and the Youth Music Ministry co-sponsored a Variety Show Fundraiser with lunch after the 11:00 worship service. Ten different acts performed, including youth singing, playing piano, covering a Red Hot Chili Peppers song, and even jump roping. Staff members shared their “variety” also by playing the spoons, breaking boards, and dancing to a song. The congregation loved it all! A 42” TV was raffled off and won by a member of our handbell choir. Overall, the fundraiser was a success on so many levels, including raising money for our summer trips and conferences and our newly reformed Youth Choir. Thank you for all who supported this fundraiser as we enjoyed seeing the talents and variety that the youth bring to Sardis Presbyterian Church! High School Sunday Night Fellowship

During March, the High School youth had wonderful opportunities to grow their faith and reach out to others. Sean McDermott, the Defensive Coordinator of the Carolina Panthers, came and shared his story and how he handles his faith with his high pressure job. Dr. Tom Kort, our Senior Pastor, led a night where youth were challenged to discuss how they view God. The High School youth also traveled to Plantation Estates for a night of bingo with the residents, as the two generations laughed and played together. Finally, the active Seniors were roasted at a special Senior Roast. During April, we will host a speaker on homelessness, serve at Give One Day, and celebrate the upcoming arrival of one of our advisors’ baby. Come and be a part!

Middle School Sunday Night Fellowship

The Middle School youth met for an impromptu meeting the Sunday of the month after their car wash fundraiser needed to be postponed due to rain and mid-30 degree weather. They met for homemade desserts, a lesson, and fellowship. During the month of March, they also packed gift baggies for Bright Blessings, an agency that strives to make sure underprivileged children have what they need to host a birthday party. One evening, while the High School students were away at Plantation Estates, they played Sardines after learning about the outrageous things God does for us. The Middle School Beach Retreat rounded out the month of fun, service, and fellowship. In April, the Middle School students will launch various objects, host other churches in a fun field day, and enjoy a night with Dr. Tom Kort. Come join the fun!
