Privacy in 2001 the Commonwealth and Victorian Governments introduced legislation that deals with the manner in which public and private sector organisations may record, use, store and disclose information, including health information collected from individuals. This parish is committed to upholding and implementing the

Privacy Principles set out in the legislation. The Sacred Heart Parish of Croydon, along with the ARCHDIOCESE of Melbourne, is committed to the safety, wellbeing and dignity of all children and vulnerable

adults.

Please pray for: We pray for all who are sick, especially Pasquilina Violi, Edith Moyes, Catherine Murtagh, Kevin Collins, Colleen Skedden, Ron Buchanan, Shannon Hannaford, Frances Sullivan, Lucy Horgan, and Beryl Clark. We pray for those parishioners that are unable to be among us this weekend, for those who have died recently, and for those whose anniversary occurs at this time.

What the Victorian Roadmap means for Sacred

Heart Church:

Note 1: The settings below are indicative only and subject to change.

The COVID-19 thresholds detailed in the roadmap will be important measures to maintain as Victoria moves through the different stages in order to safeguard the health system. Indicative dates in the roadmap include:

• 26 September: 80 per cent of Victorians expected to have had at least one vaccination dose. This is Phase A of the National Plan. (No change to the current restrictions)

• 26 October: 70 per cent of Victorians expected to have had both vaccination doses. This is Phase B of the National Plan and lockdown will end in Melbourne. (For fully vaccinated parishioners we can celebrate mass for up to 50 OUTDOORS; Funerals are permitted with up to 50 attendees that are fully vaccinated OR 20 attendees with unknown vaccination status)

• 5 November: 80 per cent of Victorians expected to have had both vaccination doses. This is Phase C of the National Plan, and regional Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne will come together under the same rules. (For fully vaccinated parishioners we can celebrate mass for up to 150 INDOORS; Funerals are permitted for up to 150 fully vaccinated attendees OR 20 with unknown vaccination status)

• 19 November: once 80 per cent of Victorians aged 12 and over are fully vaccinated, restrictions will align with Phase D of the National Plan.

Volunteer

maintenance

co-ordinator

We need a volunteer to help with

the general maintenance of the

church and monastery.

If you are able to help please

contact the parish office on

PH: 0414 923 484

The parish is looking forward to your return

to Mass when Victoria is out of lock-down.

Once we all have returned to our beautiful church our

first aim is to form a Community Formation Committee

(this will be a social committee not a fundraising

committee) so we can have gatherings to reconnect

with each other, for example, wine and cheese night,

seminars, prayer groups, pizza night, barbecues, etc.

We look forward to seeing you all very soon!

Just for laughs

If people from Poland are

called Poles, why aren’t

people from Holland called

Holes?

If it’s true that we are here to

help others, then what

exactly are the others here

for?

When someone asks you, ‘A

penny for your thoughts,’

and you put your two cents

worth in, what happens to

the other penny?

Or do you get

change?

This week on the Journey (Ep 428)

On the Journey this week: : Fr Joseph Murphy says we’re called to be servant, going against the logic of the world and its ideals of bigger is better – reputation, possessions, money, ego. Mother Hilda has a personal story of misun-derstanding, Michelle Vass calls us to walk in nature, to slow down, listen, stay awhile, go easy and be open and free, and Byron & Francine Pirola say genuine commitment pays dividends in spiritual growth, relational stability, personal integrity, and self-respect. Plus, more great music! Visit www.jcr.org.au or www.itunes.jcr.org.au where you can listen anytime and subscribe to weekly shows by email. Got friends or family who you’d like to hear this show ever week? All you’ve got to do is send them this email and they can subscribe by clicking here. The Journey is a weekly program developed by the Catholic Diocese of Wollongong and is the only Catholic radio program in Australia aired on general Christian radio.

On August 12, the UN issued a commemora-

tive stamp honouring Mother Teresa, one of

the most celebrated women and Catholic

missionaries of the 20th century. On the right

side of the stamp appears one of Mother

Teresa’s most celebrated quotes: “Not all of

us can do great things. But we can do small

things with great love.”

“For over 45 years she ministered to the poor,

sick, orphaned and dying, while guiding the

Missionaries of Charity's expansion, first in

India and then in other countries, including the

construction of hospices and homes for the

poor and the homeless.”
