The IMCAS Scientific Board and team is honored to welcome you to the 23rd edition

of IMCAS Annual Word Congress.

We would like to take this time to humbly thank the sacrifices of frontline health providers, as well as the global solidarity of citizens respecting the lockdown

measures, efforts which allowed us to once again host this new edition.

With our growing expertise on real-time online sessions as the wind on our back, IMCAS is sailing

to uncharted territory, pushing once again past the boundaries of before. The 23rd edition of the

IMCAS Annual World Congress is returning for the first time as a physical and virtual congress - hybrid.

We are working diligently to shape the program with sessions consolidating all the important scientific

updates for 2021. This edition places a special focus on reassessing and adapting your practice to various

situations and challenges: treating patients’ ethnic skin types, managing complications, organizing your

practice and patient care after a global crisis.

What helps us maintain and deliver such high-quality content in physical congresses and digital courses is, as always, the scientific collaborations we have with academic societies and partners around the world,

not to mention the world-renowned expert speakers who bring their experience and expertise.

The scientific programs are the tangible results of the synergy derived from the dynamic collaborations

between IMCAS and our scientific partners who shape this conference into what it is today – your

inner circle in science and aesthetic learning.

Your professional development depends not only on the educational material but also your interpersonal

connections. Be sure to stroll through the three levels of exhibition open all three days of the congress

to meet with the leading industry representatives, and don’t miss our social events, an agenda full of

activities to expand your network.

A well-rounded, comprehensive learning experience awaits you at IMCAS, so we hope you join us for

your professional development in 2021.

Thank you for inspiring us with your support, solidarity and thirst for knowledge.

We are honored to be surrounded by the core force that drives the progress of

aesthetics and aging science.

6:30 pm

The IMCAS WORLD CONGRESSES welcome attendance from 90 different countries in the world.

This 2021 edition will more than ever seek to gather all professionals in Paris, while insuring social

distancing and safety measures. But should any of our attendees not be able to attend physically the

conference because of a local travel ban from their country, then virtual attendance will be offered as a

full experience.

How? Professionals from all over the world will be able to connect and follow the conference online.

Considering the importance time plays in this challenging offer, the program has been developed to

allow maximum attendance on all themes.

From Los Angeles to Hong Kong, check out our time zones chart and in a single view: prepare your

learning program – concentrate on cleared color areas as shaded areas show sleeping time

(at least we hope for you…).

THURSDAY, JANUARY 28 ALL DAY LONG*

The Cadaver Workshop Live Anatomy is a series ofIMCAS-original sessions that introduce the dynamic learning format of

simultaneous cadaver dissections and live demonstrations. It is live anatomy, live demonstrations and live discussions for minimally invasive treatments all-in-one.

Our faculty from the last edition give us the details of each valuable component and the undeniable values of this ingenious workshop.

WHO IS IT FOR?DR NIMROD FRIEDMAN: "It is meant for all the doctors, aestheticians, dermatologists, GP, and all the doctors doing aesthetics, for them is crucial. For us, plastic surgeons,

we usually know anatomy – or we’re supposed to – but for the other specialties, the anatomy underneath is not something they work with day to day, so this is the best way for them to see and to understand, not only get better results but also to

avoid complications."

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?DR SEBASTIAN COTOFANA: "The face is a danger zone. There is – and this has to

be mentioned very clearly – there is no 100% safe area in the face. There are safer areas, there are safer techniques, safer ways to assess and deliver your product,

but 100% safety cannot be guaranteed.

The last time when doctors saw a cadaver was probably in medical school and since then they haven’t had this exposure. Anatomy can

open the tissue and give you a real good look into the tissue, and it’s important that doctors know where they inject the product, whether or not it is correct,

what is the anatomy underneath, what are the danger zones in that area, so on, and the Cadaver

Workshop really delivers all those aspects and hands the doctors with the tools to succeed in

aesthetic practices."

FRIDAY, JANUARY 29 ALL DAY LONG*

The Live Aesthetic Surgery Course is a full-day didactic course that provides the best instructions

to achieve optimal surgery results. Live surgeries are performed simultaneously alongside cadaver

dissections for a step-by-step 360° surgical approach. The comprehensive anatomical review,

live operations and use of new technologies provide specialists with the tools and angles they need to

sharpen their surgical skills.

WHO IS IT FOR?DR SEBASTIEN GARSON: "All sessions of the Live

Aesthetic Surgery Course are open to all board-certified plastic surgeons, while facial plastic and

oculoplastic surgeons have access to sessions related to face surgery.

This course is for surgeons, by surgeons – meaning it’s also a challenge for the speakers as well. We

have world-renown plastic surgeons performing complicated procedures live in front of hundreds

and thousands of other doctors. So I think even for the speakers it’s amazing exposure of their mastery

and prowess."

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?DR FOAD NAHAI: "I believe that aesthetic surgery with live demonstrations have an incredible educational value. It’s a chance for the audience to interact with

the surgeon. It’s a chance for me as a moderator and commentator to ask pertinent questions from

the surgeons, relay the questions from the audience to the surgeons.

It’s only through live surgery that we actually

get to see the surgical maneuvers and the surgical steps of the operation that provide the

desired result. And the format of accompanying the surgery performance simultaneously with

cadaver dissections so you can see the anatomy underneath, all accumulates to a truly unique and

enriching learning experience."

…DELVING DEEPERBoth the Cadaver Workshop Live Anatomy and Live Aesthetic Surgery Course include cadaver dissections as an essential part of the curriculum. Dr Philippe Kestemont gives us the look behind the scenes of the cadaver and precise handiwork required to offer the best learning experience.

DR PHILIPPE KESTEMONT: "The preparation is very important because you must prepare the cadaver to show the intact layers you want to talk about, so we prepare the cadaver with a pre-dissection.

We arrive 2 days before the course and select the cadaver: man, woman, skinny, fat, whichever morphotype fits the session's objectives. Then we prepare the vessels using a pre-injected technique with latex, and then prepare the dissection plane by plane to show to the attendees the different structures that they want to focus on for each part of the face, breast or body.

When you prepare the dissection, it’s the skin and the vessels that take priority. Other layers can be done live, but the sub-skin dissection and vessels must be prepared beforehand.

The most tricky to prepare is the skin. We spend a lot of time to really be precise in the subcutaneous dissection and keep the skin very intact, like when its alive. Then you can open and close the skin tissue, and show the deep structures."

IMCAS CONGRESSES

STEP 1 – SETTING A CLEAR OBJECTIVEThe ultimate objective of our congresses is to deliver the most updated scientific content for participants’ successful practice, and the communal progress of all disciplines related to dermatology, plastic surgery and aesthetic procedures. With this in mind, each year the Scientific Board and team conducts an exhaustive analysis to determine the new educational needs of physicians and practitioners.

STEP 2 – SEEKING OUT THE NEEDSThe IMCAS Scientific Board studies the feedbacks and evaluations from participants, and combs through the current publications in peer-reviewed journals to identify the subjects necessary in real-life practices to reinforce the professional development of attendees with latest educational updates.

STEP 3 – STRUCTURING THE PROGRAMOnce the needs are identified, the IMCAS Scientific Board works closely with learned societies and peer-reviewed journals to establish the framework for each session, making sure the recent developments of each theme are presented by prominent experts through innovative and dynamic teaching formats. The sessions are further strengthened through abstracts received. At IMCAS World Congress 2020, more than 800 physicians are orally lecturing or presenting a digital paper. 350 of them are officially invited by the Scientific Board, 300 are given a contributing talk after having submitted an abstract, and 150 are industry speakers.

STEP 4 – AKNOWLEDGING ANY CONFLICT OF INTERESTSA Conflict of Interest is a situation in which a speaker has an interest (financial or other) that could be seen as distorting his/her motivation or presentation in any way. Scientific lectures are presumed to be based on objective interpretations of evidence and unbiased interpretations of facts. The integrity of our conference requires all speakers to disclose any potentially distorting influences before and during their lecture. The audience may then judge and, if necessary, make allowances for the impact of bias on the information being presented. In general, safest and most open course of action is to disclose activities and

MEETING YOUR EDUCATIONAL NEEDS

relationships that, if known to others, might be viewed as a conflict of interest, even if speakers do not believe that any conflict or even bias exists. This is why each speaker is asked to display his or her disclosure slide before beginning their presentation.

What if the speaker declares ‘no Conflict of Interest’?Neither the speaker nor any member of his/her immediate family has a significant financial arrangement or affiliation with the product, device or company involved in the congress nor any potential bias against another product, device or company.

STEP 5 – ASSESSING BUSINESS ETHICS IMCAS is a private corporation and as such is a profit-seeking business. But IMCAS is also conducting educational activities for healthcare professionals and therefore business ethics is mandatory.

Addressing business ethics issues in any organization starts with complying with relevant laws and regulations but we all know this is far from being exhaustive. Higher standards obviously apply to healthcare professionals:• in regards to doctors, medical ethics put patient welfare

first and anything that interferes with this primary aim, particularly personal gain, is deemed a conflict of interest (COI – please refer to step 4)

• in regards to corporations, precise line-drawing is not fixed yet. Will it one day?

On the side, our management is constantly building a guide of principles designed to help our team of professionals conduct business with honesty and integrity.

To ensure the delivery of high-quality program content, we enforce equal treatment towards doctors and sponsors, whether “big or small”, as well as towards other influential corporations. Two years ago, we launched a new platform for our industry partners who were sponsoring the event and wished to place an order. At that time, the equal opportunities for companies seemed a difficult feat. Today, however we can assure you that fair treatment is becoming a standard.

As our congresses continue to grow in size and spectrum, or main goal continues to be the satisfaction of our attendees. This is made possible through a thorough delivery of the most current and accurate scientific content.

Is there a dilemma that exists between this mission statement and gaining revenue? To us, no. Business, ethics and profit: we sincerely think they are compatible.
