The 2nd annual spring Mid America Premier is loaded with a wide variety of high quality consignments and will provide an opportunity for the whole indus-try to dip in and pick out a choice lot to build their herd. The emphasis is more and more on width and large clean open frames and we as an auction company wish to be there for you if you have this type of deer and choose us as the means to sell them. Our wish is for the buyers and the sellers to be well sat-isfied after the conclusion of the auction. To ensure this, we encourage all the consignors to be present and to offer their lots in the best manner possible. We also urge all potential buyers to do their homework before hand so they realize the potential that is available and then to bid accordingly in a timely manner. J&S Auctions will be putting in a lot of effort to ensure a professional auction in a timely manner. John Yoder

We wish to first express thanks to the Good Lord for all the good experiences we have had since we started farming whitetail deer, and the friends we have met. We started with our first 2 doe fawns in 1996. We were excited to have them and still are. We have purged our herd a few times since then, culling out the ones that didn’t produce & AI’ing most of the remaining does to bring our herd to where we can expect 200” sons consis-tently at 2 and 3 years of age. Width and tine length are the main points I look for when plan-ning for the future. My wife Ruth and our family have pitched in and have helped tremendously. This year we were pleased with what the bucks were doing on our farm with Geyser, a Raindance son, exploding at 3 years old with a score of 343”. He is 23” on the inside with over 14” G-2’s. We sold him in the fall after breeding with him to Russ Bellar, the owner with Eddie Ray Burkholder of X-Factor. The new buck on the block is Showboat, a yearling son of Maxbo Supreme and Janie, that we purchased from Danny and Vonda Yoder. He is over 20 1/2” on the inside and has the carriage of an aristocrat. We have a lot of confidence in him for the future. Hope to see you at the auction!!

In 1998, we started with 5 does and every year since we have been trying to improve our deer’s genetics. This year, it has paid off. We have raised two 300” deer and another 295”. Whitetail deer have always been my passion, first as a deer hunter and now as a breeder. In 2008 my dad and I split our herd, now he has Moose (295”) and a lot of good genetics from the Patrick line. The last 2 years we have AI’d aggressively with many of the industry’s top sires and have been excited about the possible out comes of these breedings. Our children have been a tremendous help since we bottle raise most of our doe fawns and they always get attached to the tamest ones. We would like to thank everyone who has bought deer from us in the past and look forward to doing business with you in the future.

Our farm consists of 40 acres, we have enjoyed deer farming since 2001. However in 2007 we sold our entire herd due to testing and started over from scratch, with all tested deer, and we now have 30 plus deer. We always enjoy going to deer auctions and meeting new friends. The biggest highlight in deer farming for us is to take some of our 14 grandchildren to feed and bottle feed the deer, and watch their faces when the deer eat out of their hands. Good luck to all you deer farmers out there, and you are all welcome to visit our farm anytime.

Comments: Selling Red 38 live bred to Bucky Max. Red 38’s oldest buck is a fawn. White 124 has no sons that we know of, but her womb brother scored 192” typical and wide @2, damaged @3. Hickory Hill Whitetails started raising whitetails in Novemeber 2001. We started as a hobby, the family liked hunting and fishing and then we decided to see how big we could grow a buck. After a while we discovered we can make a business out of raising whitetails. Now the whole family is involved with feeding, bottle feeding, ect. A very interesting time for the children is at fawn season. Blue Sky was a very popular buck for us, along with his son Big Sky. Both are deceased but had wide and typical look. Our new buck’s now are Bucky Max 340” + @3. Thanks to Will Ainsworth for purchasing partnership of Bucky Max, a Max son out of a Bucky doe. The other buck we are using on the farm is Bucky Ranger. Stay tuned next couple of years on him. He is a Maxbo Ranger grandson on top of a Flees Willy, Bucky, Pebbles doe. We wish everyone a successful year ahead and blessings.

We started raising deer in 1999 by bottle feeding doe fawns for Griffiths Brothers. It has been very excit-ing to see the industry grow since we have began. Our belief is that raising deer should be fun and rewarding. We strongly support DNA test proofing your deer and we gurarantee all of our animals to what we sell them to be. Here at Barren’s Edge Whitetails our goal is to produce bucks with wide frames, long tines and the overall look that the whitetail should have. We also want to provide great does for the breeding industry. We use some of the top end sires, but try toselect them carefully by look and production, not just by overall score. Our 2009 AI sires include: Bambi Escalade, Maximus DT, Poncho, BJ, Lil Bear, Sundance, Geronimo XL, and Copperhead (Rocky Ridge’s Maxbo/Bucky yearling). We have semen avail-able from 5 of our own bucks: GeMag 265” @ 4, Bravo 288 6/8” @ 4, Festus 225” @ 4, Skyscraper 230” @ 4, Ivan 225” @ 4, and Sir Roland 178” @ 1. We realize the importance of the does pedigrees. We are constantly trying to add depth to our does pedigrees by AI breeding, stacking genetics. We have even bought in a few does over the past few years.

If your in central Pennsylvania, stop in at the farm and take a look around. We’ll talk about deer while your here!

We are a little farm hidden in the back country roads of northern Indiana. The little Elkhart River flows and bends gracefully through the wooded area at the back of our property, hence forth the name. A father/son operation that began in August 2007 when we purchased our first deer. It has been an exciting ride! A learning experience with many ups and downs, but the dream is as alive as ever. Dad (Larry) enjoys the hands on work with the deer, building fences, and visiting with other deer farmers. Son (Jonathan) is sharp with the pedigrees and bloodlines, studing the books 24/7 (unless its hunting season). This year while hunting with a muzzle loader he snagged the “monster” buck he’s been watching for 3 years. He scored 165”, a beauty! So anyway, they make a good team. We enjoy visitors, stop by anytime!

Millsview Whitetails was established in 2006 and is located in the heart of the corn belt in east central Illinois. Our family farm had been in the hog business for 4 generations until 2004 when we decided to give it up. After the urging of a couple of my friends already raising deer and my oldest son, we decided to buy a couple of deer to raise as a hobby. Well as the story always seems to go, the hobby turned into a passion and a small business that keeps us occupied along with a retail corn and soybean seed sales busi-ness and farming 900 acres of corn and soybeans. My wife Becky and oldest son Bryan are actively involved in the day to day chores of our farm on anything from bottle feeding to AI work. It has truly been a family oriented endeavor. Here at Millsview Whitetails we are striving for ”Building Beauty, In Big Typical Whitetails” with using genetics that emphasize long tines, beam length, mass and that overall sweeping eye appeal that shows balance. These doe genetic lines include Thunderstorm, Domino/Dane, B&B Hailstorm, White 99, B&B Snaps, and the Split II doe line. We are very excited about the things to come in 2011 with the sires we used in our AI program and look forward to a bright future in this industry.

Buck Creek Whitetails got started 8 years ago when dad (Joe Stutzman) bought 3 bred does from his brother-in-law, Glen Lambright. After 2 years of helping with his deer and going to auctions, my interest grew to the point where I bought 2 bred does of my own. I had good luck that first year with 4 live fawns, I was hooked. After that I bought some good quality doe fawns with high hopes for that dream buck.

I am now looking forward for spring with several of my younger does having their first sons growing out. It didn’t take long for us to realize deer multiply fast which keeps it interest-ing and challenging. We are live breeding 20 + adult does on the farm this year. We feel it is important to breed with deer that look like we want their offspring to look like. We are using several new breeders this year, check them out on my ad. We are located approximately 12 miles southeast of Shipshewana, IN. Feel free to stop in if you get in the area, or if you have any questions leave a message at 260-499-3136 ext. 7

Good luck to all!

Let me first thank every one of you deer farmers that have helped in many different ways to answer all of our questions in the last 12 years. We have purchased high quality does, bucks, & semen from the most reputable in the industry. A special thanks to all!

We are also taking about 100 to 150 bucks at the ranch every year. We want to thank all of you for all those open framed nice bucks. It has made many, many happy hunters. We try to do several handicap hunts annually. This means more to them then one can imagine. Keep raising them as big as you can, somone will always want a bigger whitetail!

Pine Creek Deer Farm which is located in northern Indiana, is the result of the dreams of a 12 year old boy. I had no trophies in mind back then. I just knew I loved Whitetailes. I started rais-ing deer in 1983 and for 10 years it remained merely a fascinating hobby. In 1994, studying genet-ics made raising whitetails more than just a hobby. I realized it can add to your income rather than subtract. This comes only with much thought and effort, as well as sharing and exchanging suc-cessful methods to reach that goal. Now 27 years later, God has given me the desires of my heart. Not only do I have numerous pens of whitetails, but also a loving wife and seven precious children.

We, James and Miriam Mast, have 7 sons and 1 daughter. Our 2 oldest sons are mar-ried and we have one grandson.

We began raising whitetail deer in 1998. We got our first deer from Eddie Ray Bur-kholder. At the Top 30 sale in 2002, we bought Dreamer. We also raised Dream Catcher and sold him as a button buck because we moved from Indiana to Mayslick, KY in 2004. Kentucky borders were closed so we had to move some of our deer to Ohio and sold the rest. In 2009, we bought MC Ranger from Levi Weaver. The borders opened in March 2010, thanks to NADeFA’s help. We now have 10 MC Ranger button bucks and 5 doe fawns. We also have 10 adult does and 6 adult bucks with other genetics. We prefer typical wide typical bucks.

If your in the area, stop on by, we would like to visit with you!

We started WillPenn Whitetails nearly 5 years ago after months of farm visits, thorough research, and countless hours on the phone. Our farm is small, but what we lack in size we make up for in our intensive breeding program. Our dream back then remains the same today, and that’s to build the largest framed whitetail possible. We feel that we are well on our way with Texas Tea being born and raised on our farm. We want to share our sincer-est thank you to all of the incredible deer farmers that have invested in him this past year. We want each and every one of you to know that we are dedicated to the promotion of him, and we won’t let you down! The biggest thank you is saved for all of the friendships that have developed over the years. Without that, this simply wouldn’t be worth pursuing.

Blue Mountain Acres was established in 2009 when with my dad’s retirement. We (Dad, David, and Myself ) decided to split the top 27 does into 3 groups then number the groups 1,2 & 3, each of us drew one number out of a hat. David kept the name Blue Mountain Whitetails and I got 9 does and 2 doe fawns and made a new herd (Blue Mountain Acres). Dad sold his share. My share included X-Factor’s mom, Alpine’s mom and Sudden Impression’s mom. For the time being the two herds will be kept on one farm until I can put up a new breeding operation. Also new in 2011 will be a preserve. We’re planning on building fence this winter and being operating by the fall of 2011. My goal as a breeder is to produce bucks like Alpine, solid 6x6 main frame with long tines and a great look, which is why most of my does are bred to Alpine, plus I already have 3 Alpine daughters.

Bred Doe, 2 Years Old

In winter of 2000, we bought our first bred does, after about a year of thinking about it, and yes some arguments were had! We already were farmers with a dairy herd-When would we have time to take care of our deer yet? But the farmer was positive they wouldn’t mess up our schedule or family time, after all, all they need is to be fed once a day! I’ll let you guess the rest….. Summer of 2002, we went on a mission trip looking for our first breeder buck. After much debate, we finally settled on a Sundance son from Dean Borntrager, which gave us a jump start in our breeding program. Fall of 2003, we started AI’ing and have continued with that through the years, using some of the best genetics the industry has to offer. Our motto is WIDE, Open Frames!

Dad and I thought it would be fun to raise deer so we started in the early 2000’s. I was 22 when we started. We had an one acre pen and a few does. Our first year fawning was a good year, we did not lose a single fawn. We thought it was so easy to raise deer! That year at the Top 30 we talked to several other deer farmers and got even more excited about raising deer. We then went out and bought a few more does with good genetics. When we heard of the Iowa Banquet in Cedar Rapids, we were ready to go. There we met deer farmers like Fred Hubner, Chad and Sheila Machart, and others. We wanted a good genetics buck to breed our does, and we heard that Chad and Sheila Machart had some really nice bucks, so we wanted to take a look at them. This one buck caught our eye. His sire was Avalanche and the dam was a Big Jake daughter. He was a yearling and even though he looked really good, we didn’t buy him right then. We went back the next year to see him again. He looked good! A few weeks later he looked even better! I thought they wanted too much for him, but a week later I called Chad and asked if he would consider selling half the buck to me. He said he needed to think about it, so I called him back 2 days later and he said he would be happy to sell half the buck to me! There were some very happy people! My wife, Anna and I have 4 daughters: LeAnne (9), Marilyn (7), Lu Etta (6), and Mariam Sue (3).

A cold little boy was selling newpapers from door to door. At one house a lady thought he looked almost starved. She asked if he would like a glass of milk. She didn’t give him just a little glass of milk, but she gave him a Big glass. Years later, she needed surgery. As it can happen the doctor bills needed to get paid. She talked to the doctor about them. The doctor replied that when I was selling newspapers door to door, you paid your doctor bills with that Big glass of milk. Kindness can collect interest without knowing. In this land of plenty to eat, kindness can be a glass of milk, a cup of coffee or even just a smile. We may think that we have it rough compared to some, but there is always someone else who has it worse. We all must be thankful for what we have.

We at Pine Hollow Whitetails are busy taking care of the deer. We had a change here as our youngest son got married, who has helped with the deer the last 6 years. We had a busy fall with cutting horns and moving deer.

We thought we had a good year, we had 11 PH Doc yearlings averaging 142” @1. GeMag scored 336 2/8” @5, PH Doc 300 3/8” @5. GeMag and PH Doc are our main herd sires. We also AI’d 34 does in partnership with Teague Ranch and Butch Caylor. I then went back to Wisconsin and helped out at Wilderness Whitetails until mid August 2007. At that time I moved here perma-nently. Scott Kent took care of our first group of fawns. In the fall of 2007, I bought over 19 does from the Teague Ranch most of which were Little Boomer, Poncho and 30-30 genetics. We also added 4 of Scott’s does. We AI’d these 23 plus 43 more at Teague Ranch.

In 2008, we purchased several more does. We AI’d 25 does here and 78 more at the Teague Ranch. In 2009, we AI’d over 150 does. Gene’s Place had no deer in April 2007, but by July 2009 we had over 100. Between the Teague Ranch and Gene’s Place we now have genetics from most, but not all of the bigger bucks in the country.

It’s just me and my wife and we have a nephew helping us when we need help. He has 3 little boys ages 1,3, and 7. The two oldest boys also like to help. We had 16 fawns this year and bottle fed them all, with my wife doing most of it. In the year of 1992, my nephews, LaVern and Raymond Graber and I would go to Woods & Waters Exotic Sales and bought birds, Ostrich, Rhea, and Emus. We had birds until 1995 then decided to buy some deer. We bought 4 does and 1 buck fawn from Kenny Clark. We went to a sale at Whitehouse and bought 4 straws of Thunder semen (Eddie Ray Burkholder). We then went to Roy D. Yoder’s farm for AI lessons and in 2000 we AI’d 4 does with success. That is where Thunder Hy Lite comes in. We then continued to improve our herd with better genet-ics. In 2001, we made a farm pond on the back of our 80 acre farm. In 2006, we divided our does (the does were all at LaVern’s) and brought our does home. (We still help each other though) When I am not at deer sales or doing something with deer I like to spend my time fishing and working back by the pond.

Stop in and see us when you are in the area!

Bred Doe, 1 1/2 Years Old

In the mid 1980s Dave & Rick Griffith purchased their grandfather’s farm from his estate. With a burning desire to bring the old farm to life their idea to raise whitetail deer began. They formed Griffith Brothers Whitetail Ridge Trophy Deer Ranch. Although the whitetail deer industry was in its infancy Rick and Dave st ill made genetics their main focus. After traveling the country for a year looking at deer herds they purchased their first breeding stock. The breeder bucks came from northernPennsylvania out of a herd started by Bill Dyroff. Bill, a computer science teacher, impressed the Griffith Brothers with great herd records and a reputation for raising championship sled dogs. Bill’s herd was almost 10 years developed; thus the three original breed sires were purchased from the Dyroff farm.

The first buck was StudIy, PA Geronimo’s father, a main frame 6x6 purchased for his tine length and typical frame. The second buck was Chief purchased for his great width and frame. The third buck was Goliath 1 purchased for his tremendous mass. At the same time Penn State University had produced a huge typical buck known as J-44. J-44 was ahead of his time with an impressive set of typical antlers scoring just over 200”. That was a very big deer for the 1980s. The herdsman at the time was Bob Mothersbaugh. Bob has since retired from Penn State and is now a master breeder in the whitetail industry. Dave & Rick were very impressed with Bob’s record keeping and knowledge of his herd at Penn State; thus several does were purchased from the J-44 line. Some of those does included ROM Goliath’s mother, Marlin’s mother, along with two full J-44 sisters K-l and 150 to name a few. After a few years of breeding a special buck hit the ground by the name of “Geronimo”. Dave and Rick had no idea how special this buck they had named Geronimo was going to be. Today Griffith Brothers are one of the proven leaders in the whitetail deer industry and PA Geronimo is one of the most inheritable and popular breed sires in the country.

Located in northwest Pennsylvania we have been raising whitetails for over 20 years on a small family run farm and hunting ranch. We were fortunate to have raised one of the largest whitetails in 2003, RDM Goliath at 429 6/8. With his influence in our doe herd, they are producing the big framy animals that the hunting industry is looking for. We use AI on about half of our does, adding such bucks as Primetime, Maxbo XL, Maxbo, Maxin, Tonto, Grizzly, Rocket, Timberjack, Highroller, Rocky, Sundance and many more. The rest are bred to our own herd sires, several over 300 this year.

Two unique things that we do here at RDM are we bottle feed every fawn on the place and we work the bucks with a dog during hard antler season.

Come and visit and we will show you some great deer and the dog.

Deep in the rolling hills of Ohio, Roy and his family have established a beautiful white-tail deer farm. Back off the road a ways they built a new house and deer management buildings amongst a fine grove of trees, in a valley east of Fredericksburg. Here and Emma raise their family of 7 children. In 1989 they started with deer. Yoder spelled backwards is Redoy, our farm name.

In 2001, my brother and I started raising deer as a hobby. Then in 2003, I bought my own property and a year later I bought Ernest from Mark Sipes and raised alot of nice shooter bucks from him.

Then in 2006, I met Sarah, she is now my wife. We have a 17 month old little girl who enjoys watching the deer and likes when it is feeding time so she gets a ride on the cart and Daddy helps her pet some of the tame does. We now have 25 bucks and 24 does on our farm.

Now by the first of June we had 7 deer. We kept our deer at Hickory Hill White-tails as we didn’t have any fence of our own.

By the fall of 2008 we moved all the deer to our own pens. Now our buck fawn from Geronibear and Pink 17 was 1 1/2 years old and we decided to use him for our breeder as that was all we had. So we named him Lil Bear. He was 14 1/2” inside and scored 288”. Then a couple of guys from Indiana, called the Dutch Boys came to our farm one day and ended up buying him. Thanks to them and everyone who purchased deer and made it possible for us to be deer breeders. We now have about 60 deer and really enjoy it.

Everyone is welcome to stop by or give us a call and chat deer or whatever may be on your mind. God bless one and all!

With BB Widowmaker’s long tines including 16” G2’s (no splits included here to equal up to 16 inches) and #235 being out of BB Snaps/Bucky granddaughter, I’ll bet on this one to make great big typicals. What you get, I will get because I am keeping her twin sister #236. If you think I’m keeping the best one, then if you buy this doe #235 and you want to switch, then we’ll switch and we will still both have the same breeding and both be winners on this lot.

We’ve got what the industry is talking about...Large framed typical deer plus one of our other goals...healthy whitetail deer. They both go hand in hand at BB Genetics. We are located in Northern Indiana. We began raising whitetail deer in 2000, starting out with one buck and 6 does we had bought from local Indiana deer farmers. Each year there was and still is new challenges we face when it comes to raising and treating our deer. Since I had been a hog farmer for 40 years, I knew the importance of vaccinat-ing livestock to produce the healthiest animals that I could, so that was a plus for our farm and carried over to our deer. In the first year we got with our local vet and came up with a vaccination program for our herd. Our fawns are vaccinated and tagged within the first 12 hours of birth. We also vaccinate our whole herd each year with the same vaccinations. We have also been vac-cinating our whole herd with the EHD Type 1 & 2 & Blue Tongue17 ever since Indiana acquired Missouri’s vaccine. Let’s say BB Genetics does not skimp on the cost of producing healthy deer. That goes for the feed we mix ourselves also. They get the best of the best in nutrition and care that anyone could give them. We want those deer farmers who buy deer from us to have big bodied, healthy deer when they leave our farm.

Comments: R-SS2 is 4 1/2 years old. This doe has a bloodline that we keep using and using. Of course (Ruth, O-8) is deceased, but we keep her offspring going. Sleet Storm was the twin brother to BB Hail Storm. They both were very nice typical bucks with nice frames, and long tines. Look at the picture of bucks that have came out of these bloodlines: BB Sleet Storm, BB Hail Storm (Thunderstrom/Thunder), BB HD, BB Snaps, BB Socks. Now take this doe, R-SS2 matched up to BB Widowmaker a 3 year old Chopper son who is a 5x5, 25” wide, scoring 260”. What will you get? Big frame, mass, long tines, long brows. This yearling has alot of typical bloodlines in her on top and bottom. By matching her up with BB Curly you are bound to get huge framed deer. BB Curly scored 300”+ @2 as a 7x10, 25” wide. Comments: #231 is a daughter of BB Snaps and out of a Magnum doe. She is being bred to Rifle Man. Boys and girls I am telling you this will be an opportunity of a life time, talk about long tines! BB Snaps had 17” tines, 24” wide and Rifle Man has 14-15 1/2” tines, 24” inside and a big 8 point, 4x4, with 28” main beams. I’ll tell you if I can raise big 8’s scoring 180”-200” plus like we have been doing I’d like to sell 6 or 8 4x4’s every year and make a whole lot more money on them than you will on any other deer. If you don’t think so just ask Mark Pierce or any preserve owner, they get alot of requests. Don’t miss out!

Here at BB Genetics we have reached our goal of producing “Large framed, healthy typical deer year-after-year”, but there is always room for improvement. Our main goal is to keep improving our bucks so that we are able to supply the hunting preserves and other deer farmers with deer that will produce what almost any hunter would want . . . a big framed buck. In order to help other deer farmers, at BB Genetics, when we sell a doe you are guaranteed to have what we have, because if there are twins or triplets, we keep one for ourselves. Sometimes we have had to make tough decisions on whether to sell some of the does that we have, but we can’t keep them all. So we are proud to be able to supply other deer farmers with some amaz-ing deer.

We have used our own line of pedigrees since day one with an occasional dose of an-other line of pedigree to see if it would change things up a little, like more tines or width, etc. I won’t sugarcoat this but sometimes it worked and sometimes it put us behind. It’s all a learning curve. I will say that we had great results crossing our does with Thunder and Thunderstorm. They produced BB Thunder Cloud, BB Hail Storm, BB Sleet Storm, just to name a few, that we used as breeder bucks.

Owned by Andy & Elva Miller with son Freeman and wife, Ada. Freeman and Ada do the hands on feeding and caring for the deer. We started in the deer industry in 2008. We bought 3 does and a breeder buck, Skyscraper, a PA Geronimo son. Yellow 81 one of our does was bred to PH Doc, she gave us a single buck fawn.

In 2009, he went beyond our expectations and scored 190” + as a yearling, we named him Lucky Strike. In 2010, he scored 248”+. In the 2010-2011 breeding season our doe herd consists of 12 adult does and 7 doe fawns. Live cover sires are Big Guy, Goliath W-105, Lucky Strike, and Bucko (he is our newest purchase a Marsh Milbo/Bucky cross). Big frames, long tines, and the whitetail look is what we are striving for. With hopes of making enough money to keep it interesting, but not so much that we forget our God and friends.

We bought our first deer in 2006. We have the priviledge of being near neighbors to Hickory Hill Whitetails and Swamp Creek Whitetail farms. This is when our interest in deer farm-ing increased. An invite to join was extended to us, Swamp Creek Whitetails offered to furnish pens and feed so Esther and I readily agreed. We invested in our first deer at John Yoder’s and Jerry Campbell’s last auction together as partners. We wanted the typical look, with power to produce. We chose to start with Redoy Bill, Flees and Thunderstorm as our foundation stock. We have been crossing these genetics with the best the industry has to offer. We are excited with what we are able to witness in these few short years. The name Aviation Deer Farm is a child hood facination with aircraft and as an adult who now can induldge in bringing the two together for a theme reflecting the deer industry! The guts and determination to engineer something that works. After being told it can’t be done! It also gives me a chance to honor all the dedicated people who didn’t give up on avia-tion and deer farming until success beyond imagination was achieved! Good luck and Blessing wished for all in the deer industry.

We at Ridgetop Acres, as a family, consist of only 4. My wife Marie, our only child Jer-emy and his wife Susan, and myself. We have a pallet shop and a 105 acre farm where we raise alfalfa hay and whitetail deer!

We got our first deer in January,1999. 3 does and a button buck. The next morning one doe was dead and that fall the button buck as a yearling got pneumonia and also died.

Discouraging, but we didnt give up. We bought more does and kept on breeding for better genetics. Today, 10 years later, our herd consists of around 50 head with sons and daugh-ters of some of the best sires available. Our does are from Max, Maxbo, Maxbo Ranger, Rolex, Marty Graw, Sundowner, Doc, Maximus DT, Flees Lucky, Maverick, Maxbo Dominator, and more.

Hope to see you all at the 2011 auctions and wishing you all a great New Year!

My wife and I own and operate Jordan’s Bear Den & Turkey Coop in Northpoint, PA. We do wholesale turkey mounts and bear rugs. We have two daughters and five grandchildren, ages 1-7. We started raising deer for reference for our business, so I could study them to give my customers a better quality mount, after raising the first two which we thoroughly enjoyed. My wife wanted to raise deer so we went and purchased a buck fawn, which is now a 253 3/8” three year old we call Cherokee. We enjoyed raising deer so much that we named our farm “Just For Fun Whitetails” and yes we are still having fun (well most days). We are breeding for large main frame typical. What started out with 2 deer for fun and enjoyment has now grown to 15 acres and 36 deer. In 2008, we partnered with some very good friends, Kevin and Wanda, they have 4 sons, 3 grandsons, and 1 granddaughter. Kevin and Tim keep busy feeding and maintaining. Wanda does all the computer work, and come spring we are all busy with fawns. This year we used GB Magic, Powerball, Bucky Boy, Patrick Jr., Sheriff in our AI program. These deer will be backed up to our Cherokee, we have also sent a few out to other farms to be live bred. Were really excited about this years fawns. We invite you to stop in and check out our farm. Contact us anytime.

4 Guys Deer Farm started raising deer in the fall of 2000. We have bought al ot of good deer at the Top 30 and Select and other auctions. This year we had 12 bucks over 200” with 1 over 300” at 2 years old. We only live breed so we are critical to have quality bucks. This year Maxbo Victor, 273 1/2” and Expresso, 303 5/8” at 2 were our main breeder bucks.

We have bred does, fawns and bucks for sale. You are always welcome to take a tour of 4 Guys Deer Farm. Give us a days notice if you can by leaving a message at 330-359-2930.

We started raising deer in 1998. The boys and I started talking about raising deer for about five years before we really got into it. Then Enos got cancer and started going through treatments and we thought that raising deer would be a way to encourage him. We went and bought 5 does, a few off of Dan Kuhns, and a few off of Ben Coblentz to get us started. Then we went and bought 5 does from Dan Weaver, and more off of Dream Mountain, a big hunting preserve in West Virginia. Dream Mountain raises a lot of 200”+ animals for their preserve. We bought 3 daughters out of Dream Mountain’s Moose, scoring 245” @ 7. At 7 years old Dream Mountain’s Moose was put on the preserve and shot. We bought 2 daughters out of a son of Dream Mountain’s Moose that we called 190 does because he was a nice big typical. At 5 years old the Moose son did not get any better so they put him on the preserve and shot him. I talked them into selling me 2 J-44 daughters, he was about 230” non typical and 205” typical. Before I had bought my does off of Dream Mountain, they had never sold any animals to anyone else because they were only raising them for their preserve. The reason I decided to cross the Dream Mountain’s Moose daughter’s with Omrey was because Moose had a lot of mass and Omrey had a lot of width. We then put JPB on top of that daughter and that’s how we ended up with FTW Moose. The way he is bred I think he will really produce. He has mass with width and then put JPB on top and he has all the splits. I think he will pass on his genetics.

I wanted to raise deer, but did not have enough acres. I asked Gary Lambright if he would be interested in taking care of my deer. He said yes, so I bought 2 bred does. One was bred to BW Sundowner, the other to Silver Hawk. Both does had 1 buck fawn and 1 doe fawn.

The Silver Hawk son as a yearling scored 176”. We are now half and half on all deer. We bought a 3 year old from Glen Lambright last year. He is very nice typical scoring 279 3/8” with 30” & 31” main beams. We are bottle feeding all our doe fawns. It’s going on the third year now. We wish everyone a good year. God Bless. 2002

Here at Schmucker’s Whitetails there is always something going on. Between our herb business and whitetails, seems like we never quite get caught up. This past fall was extra busy with building our new han-dling system and also with TB testing. Seems like our hard work is paying off as this past summer was a good antler year for us. We sold 16 bucks, 13 of the 16 averaged 218”, the best we ever had. This is not counting the breeder bucks. Chancin is starting to show us what he can do for us. As we had our best group of 1 year olds in 2010. We look forward to 2011 grow-ing season as we will have plenty of bucks to watch grow, 35 one year olds, 32 two year olds, 20 three year olds plus Chancin 5 years old, and Unique 4 years old.

Visitors are always a highlight at our place!

Feel free to stop in if you get in the area, or if you have any questions leave a message at 260-585-4029 Good luck to all!

Mary and I started raising deer in 1994. We started with 4 does from Ervin Hostetler and 5 does from Roy Yoder. The first year we rented a buck from Roy Yoder, and the second year one from Ervin. The third year we were able to purchase a buck from Ervin. A couple of years later as our herd grew, we went to Eddie Ray’s and bought a son of Thunder who we called Flash. We then added a handling facility and built an observation towers. The towers sure made it easier when the need to dart one deer comes up. In 2004 we bought a buck from Ernest Tracey we named Big Gamble because of the money we spent. That was the last breeder buck we bought because about then AI became popular and now we do all AI’ing using our own bucks as cover bucks.

Mary and I both enjoy the deer business as there is no dull time. In the spring is big bellied does and horns growing, summer babies arriving and horn growing, fall brings fawn weaning, velvet shedding, then its doe breeding, later horns dropping and then we start all over again.

The terminal market (the hunters arrow) defines the value of our genetics and is the truthful jury of all genetics being bought, sold and bred. Until the antler gene is mapped, we will breed with discipline to achieve our goal, and a pure bred sire with 20”+ G-2’s, 18”+ G-3’s and 16”+ G-4’s, 36”+ main beams and a 24”-26” inside spread. We are beginning this discipline by pasture breeding Thunderstrike to our best daughters of his half-brother AllStar. We do not expect the unexpected. Thunderstrike has the most disciplined and balanced typical framed sires directly behind him in his genetree of any sire we know of: Thunderstorm, Thunder, Buck-wheat, Buckwheat Jr. , and JB. These are his parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents.None have G-2’s shorter than G-3’s. None have bifercated tines. None have sucker tines. Thun-derstrike doesn’t either. Fluke or Discipline?

Our 2010 main A-I sires were the following: Arty-363 lbs., 28” + inside, 30”+ main beams, 5x5 frame over 245”.....Big Ben-over 400 lbs. 30” + inside, 30”+ mainbeams......Amos-over 375 lbs., 30”+ mainbeams, .... Also, Hugo, X-Factor, and MI Weapon.

I started raising deer in 2002 as a hobby and potential income. In 2004 I met a great woman Sarah, and with God’s blessing we were married. Sarah and I evaluated our business plan and decided to redo our doe genetics and eliminate eight of our breeders to buy better genetics. We decided to breed with some of the best genetics for a large and heavy typical frame. Our decision has been paying off. We are a small operation which allows us to bottle feed all of our fawns in-cluding bucks. We strive for tame does and 5 to 10 foot bucks. This is working and our whole herd is very manageable. Our AI success rate for our bottle fed fawns is 100%. We vaccinate all of our fawns and have a strong vaccinating and worming program for our adults. Our herd is EHD vaccinated and over 60% DNA’d.

CCW is a family run business with God as our Leader and Inspiration. My wife Sarah, and our two children, Caitlyn and Noah, all help with the daily operation (20 bottle fed fawns in 2009) and chores associated

I started in the deer industry in 1997, a little over a year after I married my wonderful wife, Sue. By then she thought she knew me, now she know me and the deer!

We have been blessed with 6 girls and 3 boys, who help us a lot with bottle feeding and anything else they can help with. I have an average of 45-50 head in any given year and fawn about 15 does. This year our biggest buck is Superball 250”+ @3, and a few others 200” +. Also some nice typical bucks. We have used an extensive AI program the last few years. In 2010, we have offspring from Big Guy, Bambi Escalade, Out of Bounds, Rampage, Maxbo Ranger and Grand Canyon. In 2011 we will have Climax, PA Geronimo, Texas Tea, Thunderstrike, and Fear Factor.

Whispering Pines started out in 1996. I planned on buying possibly only two does and a young buck, but I ended up purchasing five does and a yearling buck. This buck was off the same farm as Robert Schmucker’s Bucky and Eddie Ray’s Thunder. They were all out of the same line of deer. I named the young buck Chief. He was not too bad for fourteen years ago, he was rather clean and scored possibly 190”. Real-izing that this was probably not going to be good enough, I went and bought a good young buck called Humpy from Eddie Ray which had its antlers damaged. I then bred the last does to him and also a couple of does to Chief. Humpy was heavy beamed with seven points on his good side and the other side was dam-aged, but he produced good and he did well. Humpy was out of a Pepsi II buck and Eddie Ray’s Patrick 112. From this first set of fawns I had a yearling that I called JR. I felt that he was going to be good. At thesame time Robert Schmucker’s Salt Lick Deer Farm had a buck that I liked that he called Dane. Dane was 3 years old and JR was 2 years old when we traded them, with JR going to Salt Lick Deer Farm and Dane who was nice and wide coming to Whispering Pines.

Blue Mountain Whitetails was established in 1994 by my dad, Levi Esh. That year he purchased 1 buck and 2 does. In 1995 he bought Crockett, a well know decendant of OH Oscar. Sundance, High Roller, and Redoy Bill all go back to the Oscar family. In 1996 he purchased a Pepsi doe, this Pepsi doe bred to Crockett produced Redoy Jordan. In 1997 he bred with a heavy, big frame Pepsi grandson named Garett. In 1998 he bred with another offspring of the Pepsi line named Texas Jr, 115” @1. In 1999 he bred with 3 bucks Redoy Jordan, Blue Mountain 30-30, and Gary. All these went back to the Pepsi line. In 2000 he with Redoy Jordan. From 2001-2005 we bred with Crab King (Patrick line) and Bill (Bill was owned by my brother, Jesse and myself ). In 2006 we started on an AI program. We’ve bred our foundation does to Flees, Waldvogel, Sundance, and Griffith Brothers lines, and have produced record setting bucks out of each line. My dad retired from deer farming in the summer of 2009. Jesse took his share of the does and started Blue Mountain Acres and I still have Blue Mountain Whitetails. My herd consist of 13 does plus 5 doe fawns and 16 buck fawns. The does include Rol-On Bill’s mother, Navaho’s mother, X-Factor’s mothers full sister and Alpine Escalade’s mother. Plus many other young does that I’m very excited about. My goal as a deer breeder is balance, beauty, and a big 300” main frame. My goal as a deer farmer is honesty, and trustworthyness. Thanks for taking the time to read this. See ya at the show, I’ll have a booth.

We are a Whitetail Deer Farm located in central Ohio, in a state with over 600 deer farmers and a state that is home for some of the best genetics in the world.

We are a family run deer farm using some of the world’s best whitetail deer genetics. Our goal is to use the best genetics to see what we can produce and more importantly have fun and enjoy these animals. The people we have met in just a few short years are absolutely wonderful.Ward Whitetail Farm was established in 2004. We have been deer lovers for years and have also been breeding and raising livestock for many years primarily in the beef cattle arena. Artificial insemination (AI) in cattle is something we are very familiar with. Maximizing the ability to use the best genetics in the world to improve our herd is a resource we can carry over into the whitetail deer breeding arena particularly with laproscopic artificial insemination. We have pur-chased several good breeding does to serve as our foundation females and are breeding them to the best of the best. (See Sires on breeding bucks page).

Hi, we are the Reed family from Turkey Hill Whitetails. We started deer farming as a hobby in 2002 with just a few deer. In 2005, I got deer fever and started to purchase great doe genetics from across the United States for our AI program. Some sires used included Waldvogel’s Rocket, GD Romeo, Lakota, Outcross, GB Magic, Ultra Max, Matrix, Marty Graw, Full House, Max DT, Thunder Max, Maxbo Extreme, Grizzly, Timberjack, Rocky Roller, Highway 10, Soaring Eagle, and Thunderstorm. Genetics sure does make a difference, our yearlings have doubled in score! My children and I bottle feed 90% of our does. Our entire doe herd is DNA tested and very calm, just like the family pets. We also have a regular vaccination and worming program on our farm.

With all these deer and genetics as good as anybody’s out there, at a reasonable price, go look at www. turkeyhillwhitetails.com.

Eagle Creek Whitetail Deer Farm started in 2003, located in Wingate, PA by Steve and Lisa Stem, with a one acre pen containing 6 doe and SS Patriot was the start of our adventure. Little did we know or realize what a journey this would turn into. A family hobby quickly turned into a family business that involved sons, daughters, nephews, brothers, son-in-law and many curious friends. It has been a super experience from the start to present, now we have grown to eight deer pens, a handling facility and up to 100+deer. Our genetics from those 6 doe that we started with has evolved into a competitive line up of breeding doe and fawns plus dozens of 2 and 3 year old bucks including SS Cherokee, SS Rollover, SS Fencer, SS Triple Threat and our present glory boy, SS Black Jack, all of which scored 200” to 275” Eagle Creek Whitetail Deer Farm operated primarily by myself, son Travis, son-in-law Beamer and nephew Lucas goal is to succeed, our motto is, “Success isn’t for everyone only for those who are motivated to achieve it..” We have narrowed our approach to this business to developing a successful genetic line by AI’ing the best to the best and being reliable, fair and honest business men. We are excited for the 2011 fawning season. Our AI line up is awesome. Our buck fawns and yearlings have super genetic crosses that should make antler growing a daily watch that will be thrilling for all to see. In anticipation for our growing heard we are now expanding to a 2nd location. We are proud members of NaDeFA and PDFA. I am and elected member of the Pennsylvania Deer Farmers Board of Directors. I serve on the Policy committee and the PAC fund committee. In closing this exciting and diverse business has allowed us to travel meeting small and large farmers, I have had the pleasure of learning something from all., I hope to continue growing and learning as we buy and sell these very special animals.

God Bless and always believe that, “It Can be Done”.

Greetings to all you folks in deer country,

My wife Marilyn & I operate a small deer farm in Holmes County, OH along with our 3 children, Kaitlyn (5), Joel Dean (3), and our newest daughter, LeAnne born December 27, 2009. We got started in the summer of 2006 with a lot of help from my father in law, Norman Troyer. We currently breed 10-15 does per year.

In the fall of 2008 we started a whole new adventure with the creation of Buckeye Whitetail Auctions. The past year and half has been very rewarding as we have gotten to know some great people, including the John Yoder family. I personally think our industry is still a lot stronger than many of us want to believe. As of right now I do not know of anyone still trying to sell bucks, but I do know of preserves that are looking to buy bucks.

I would like to thank everyone that has bought deer from us in the past or sup-ported our auctions in any way.

Bred Doe, 2 1/2 Years Old

5 years

In the spring of 2002 I bought my first deer and I bought one bred doe from Pin Oak Farms with the intention of just doing it as a hobby. I thought if I could make enough off of it to cover my feed I would be doing fine. Several years later I got into it a bit more and then the year after I got a bit deeper into it yet. Ever since that we have been breeding for the big typical. As nice and big of a typical as you can get. Most of what we have been breeding for is the big typi-cal, not so much breeding for the score as for the look. The score comes second to us behind the look of a nice big typical, nice looking deer.

One of the best programs that I have seen, one that I really like, is Fred Huebner’s. We have been breeding with some of his stuff and intend on breeding some more with it in the future. Watch for our future consignments. We have Amos offspring here , Auggie offspring, as well as Thunderstorm and Lonestar. That’s the direction that we are wanting to go and the look that we like to see on our bucks.

We bred with Maxbo Arty, we like his mother. His mother is what attracted us the most, Amos breeding his womb sister is Artys mom. Then put Maxbo on top of that and I feel that is putting the best with the best. I feel Arty is the most balanced Maxbo son scoring over 300 that there is.

Antlered Acres Whitetails began the spring of 2001. Our herd started with a genetic base of 200 inch B.C. or better. Our genetics have come from some of the well known breeders throughout the country, like Russ Walk at Walks Premier Whitetails, Eugene Flees at Wilderness Whitetails, and Dean Borntrager at Sundance Whitetails. We are constantly striving to increase our genetics; through our AI program and single sire breeding. We are currently running our AI program with bucks that have the potential of reaching upwards of 300” B. C. or better. We have seven single sire breeding pens, each one having their own automatic heated water fountain and individual feeding stations that are under roof. Our DNA is guaranteed and backed up by DNA Solutions. We are currently into our seventh year with our CWD monitoring program. We are also whole herd tested TB and Brucellosis free, as of October 17, 2004. On our farm you will also find a state of the art handling facility, and a separate barn for fawn raising. We have also from time to time set-up an intensive care unit in our home for those fawns that need special attention and care. We have raised several yearlings on our farm scoring anywhere from 143” B.C. to 191”. We also have semen available from these bucks, call for details or visit our Farm Sires page. Please support your local deer farming association. One interesting thing about Deer Farming is that the companionship is second to none. If you need help, questions answered, there is always someone their to administer to your needs. If you or someone you know would like to get started in raising Whitetails, even if its just a hobby, please feel free to contact us for help or guidance. A lot of useful information can be found on our links page. Get started today and enjoy those beautiful WHITETAILS!!!

D.E. Deer Farm started in 1989, when we got our first deer. The children were playing out in the backyard and heard a noise in the cornfield. They went out to see what it was and found a little fawn, it ran away. This happened three times. Then it came out in the pasture and layed down. They caught it and took it in the house and gave it a bottle. When I got home from work, the children came running up to me and asked me if I could guess what they had in the house. When I went in I found this baby fawn in the bedroom beside the bed. That’s when we started raising deer. We had that deer for about 3 months, it was a real good pet. Then one day a cement truck pulled into the driveway and it got spooked and ran into the fence and broke its neck. We bought another buck and doe and went on from there. We now have 49 deer.
