Together we raised more than $72,000. In October of 2013, The Arc of the Virginia Peninsula changed its name to VersAbility Resources to reflect a growing service area and ongoing commitment to creating opportunities that highlight the abilities of people with disabilities. To support this new direction, our charity golf tournament has been renamed The Ability Am. Enclosed is a sponsorship packet for the 2014 Ability Am. Our fundraising goal this year is $85,000; we need your support to reach this goal and help even more people with disabilities. We hope you will consider increasing your contribution to gain greater sponsor benefits and support citizens with disabilities in leading healthy and fulfilling lives in our community. Proceeds from this year’s event are once again supporting the Employment Services Program. Funding for this program has been eliminated, leaving 34 people with disabilities without funding for services. We need the support of our community to sustain these services.Your contribution to The Ability Am is an investment in preserving jobs for citizens with disabilities and their families. The enclosed flyer contains additional information on the program and the individuals in need of support, some of whom have been working at VersAbility for over 40 years. VersAbility Resources has been supporting people with disabilities for over 60 years. We are a comprehensive provider, serving over 1,000 people with disabilities in employment, day support, community living, and early childhood programs. The Ability Am:June 6, 2014 – Cedar Point Country ClubA day of fun, competitive golf followed by the 19th Hole Cocktail Reception and Awards Ceremony. About The Ability Am:The Ability Am Golf Tournament raises awareness and funds for VersAbility Resources. VersAbility Resources envisions a world where people with disabilities enjoy dignified, productive lives of their choosing as fully accepted members of society. In its first two years, The Ability Am golf tournament raised more than $140,000 in support of VersAbility’s programs for people with disabilities. This tournament supports VersAbility in its mission to help individuals with disabilities live, work, and thrive in our community. The championship golf course at Cedar Point is the setting for The Ability Am, a handicapped, co-ed, best ball tournament comprised of four person teams and a play your own ball format. Golfers will enjoy Cedar Point’s challenging course and immaculate greens.

About the 19th Hole Cocktail Reception and Award Ceremony:New this year is the 19th Hole Cocktail Reception and Awards Ceremony. This event begins at 5:00 p.m. and includes Cedar Point’s delicious dinner buffet, acoustic music, and cash bars. The Awards Ceremony will begin at approximately 6:30 p.m. All golfers will receive complimentary tickets to the event, and additional tickets can be purchased for $35.
