ear for spotting young, up and coming talent:

Starting at 12.30pm, these 1 hour sessions provide a great way to sample the magical atmosphere of the Spiegeltent with the UKs rising stars in folk.

Elegant and impassioned, New Orleans-based clarinettist Evan Christopher’s style is steeped in the tradition exemplified by early jazz masters such as Sidney Bechet, Jimmie Noone, and Barney Bigard. His band celebrates the music of the legendary Django Reinhardt and enlivens swing-era classics by re-creating a New Orleans ‘Hot Club’ right here in the Spiegeltent.

set out their manifesto to bring vital and accessible spoken word to the masses. Joined by Parliamentary Writer in Residence Rommi Smith, plus The House KeepingSociety will be providing the soundscapes.

Previous collaborations include Ruby Wood (Submotion Orchestra) with influences including the likes of Fela Kuti, King Tubby, The Fugees, Herbie Hancock, Haggis Horns, and Nitin Sawhney.
