Pray for the Community Pregnancy Center and their specific prayer requests listed below:

•Pray for a couple who are working with CPS to regain custody of their child after false charges against them were filed. Pray for God’s will to be done. Also pray for reconciliation needed in their marriage because of this stressful time.•Please pray for the volunteers and staff members who are coping with health issues and recent (or upcoming) surgeries or treatments. Ask that God would restore, establish and strength-en them.•Pray for the handful of clients who, after talking with a coun-selor about their options, are still considering abortion as an option.•Please remember in prayer CPC’s volunteer counselors. They are valuable extensions of the counseling that goes on in the main center’s counseling rooms, offering practical help and listening ears with the love of Christ. •Building #2, our training room, is in need of new gutters and stucco repair.

Bible Reading: Mark 13:14-31; 2 Cor. 11:16-33; Psalm 106:24-48; 1 Sam 29-31 Everyone is influenced by the people they spend time with. This is why the Bible warns, “bad company corrupts good morals” (1 Cor 15:33) and why the Bible encourages, “Walk with the wise and become wise” (Prov 13:20) We are all con-stantly changing in small increments, and frequently these changes are the result of the company we keep. The question then becomes: when people walk alongside you, what fragrance do you leave upon their life? In what ways might their time with you leave a lasting influence, either for better or for worse? Will you be an influence to them as though they have been walking with Jesus? or by your self-ishness and perhaps indiscretion, as though they have been walking with the prince of darkness? Will you be to them a stepping stone towards Christlikeness? or a stumbling block? May people walk away from time with us better than when they came. May they walk away encouraged, strengthened, and built up. May their eyes be on Christ, and may our voice fill their hearts with the sound of his words. What a joy to be one who represents so great a Savior in the lives of others.

Bible Reading: Mark 13:32-37; 2 Cor. 12:1-10; Psalm 107; 2 Sam 1-2

In Psalm 104:6, the psalmist says, “Lift up the light of your face upon us, O LORD! You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound.” The lost people of this world seek their joy horizontally. They have no alternative; this world is all they have. They cannot see past the clouds as our eyes of faith can, and so they turn to “grain and wine” for joy in this life. The only happiness they can find is that which they stumble upon occasionally in the temporary circumstances which rise and fall like the tide. As believers, we also can take delight in the blessings God has given like “grain and wine,” however, we have found that the superior joy comes from delighting in God Himself. Our vertical vision with eyes of faith allows us to behold “the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (2 Cor 4:6). Therefore, let us continue to fly to the Word of God and say “Lift up the light of your face upon us, O LORD!”

Bible Reading: Mark 12:35-44; 2 Cor. 10; Psalm 105; 1 Sam 24-25

Identify ways that you once resembled the invalid man of John 5:1-18 (i.e. unable to heal self, sinful, dependent). Identify ways you might look like the Pharisees who criti-cized aspects of God’s ministries.

Bible Reading: Mark 13:1-13; 2 Cor. 11:1-15; Psalm 106:1-23; 1 Sam 26-28

in 2 Cor. 11, Paul is concerned that Christians would be led away from a pure devotion to Christ. Even amidst our Chris-tian life we can often lose focus on Jesus. Read Revelation 2:4 and remind yourself today of who your first love is.
