Dear CNM Foundation Supporters,

I want to express my tremendous appreciation for the CNM Foundation and all of the wonderful donors and Foundation Board members who enrich our community by choosing to support the success of CNM students. Your amazing support of our students goes such a long way in improving the quality of life in our community.

Your generosity continues to help so many of our students overcome challenges and reach the life-changing milestone of becoming a college graduate. And each time a student becomes a college graduate, it not only greatly improves their prospects for a good career and a good life, but it also contributes to stronger families and a healthier community. You truly help CNM’s Vision – “Changing Lives, Building Community” – come to life on a daily basis.

For the second year in a row, CNM has soared to tremendous heights nationally for the number of associate degrees and certificates being awarded to our graduates. In the most recent U.S. Department of Education statistics available (2015-16 academic year), CNM ranked No. 1 among 1,100-plus community colleges for the number of associate degrees and certificates awarded to Native Americans; No. 3 for the number of associate degrees and certificates awarded to Hispanics; and No. 6 for the total number of associate degrees and certificates awarded to all students. This comes on the heels of CNM being ranked No. 1 in 2014-15 for the number of associate degrees and certificates awarded to both Hispanics and Native Americans, and No. 2 overall.

CNM faculty and staff have been so focused on finding ways to help more of our students persevere and graduate because we know how important an educated workforce is to our state’s economic development and quality of life. These rankings are a clear affirmation that our sustained efforts at CNM are producing great results for our students, our central New Mexico community and our state.

But there is so much more to be done to help our state gain more traction toward a more prosperous future. At CNM, we know we’re a key part of the solution to our state’s challenges. And we are ready, willing and able to step up like never before in the years ahead. But we need some help from our friends. That’s why the CNM Foundation’s Step Up Campaign to raise $20 million by 2020 is so important. The money raised through this campaign will go toward a variety of efforts that are strategically focused on supporting economic development, entrepreneurship, innovation and the cutting-edge technology that our students need to succeed in tomorrow’s economy.

The CNM Foundation is making terrific progress toward its very ambitious goal of $20 million by 2020. And we are so extremely thankful to everybody who has stepped up through this campaign to not only support CNM and our students, but to support a brighter future for our central New Mexico community.

To all of our CNM Foundation supporters, thanks again for your heart-warming generosity and for your continued support of CNM and its Vision of “Changing Lives, Building Community.”

Sincerely,

Dr. Katharine W. Winograd

CNM President

Dear Friends of the CNM Foundation,

It has been an honor to Step Up and represent the CNM Foundation this year, a year that kicked off with some high ambitions and amazing results both in the classroom and outside within the community. We are thrilled to report we had 8,562 graduates for Fiscal Year 2017.

This fiscal year we embarked on an exciting campaign to Step Up and raise $20mm by 2020 which will help fuel job growth and economic development. This challenge has been well received by those who are participating in the fund raising efforts and for those who have so graciously given their treasures towards this campaign. As of the end of Fiscal Year 2017, the efforts of the CNM Foundation Staff, Board Members and volunteers have raised over $12.5m towards this goal. But the true recognition goes to the many donors who have been so responsive and said they will Step UP to ensure CNM has the resources needed to be a growth engine for economic development in New Mexico.

CNM’s vision to develop the talent of our community has been proven in so many ways. Through the focus of the schools’ leadership, CNM continues to Step Up to changing lives, bridge skill sets to job requirements and continues to raise the bar in higher education.

There have been so many wonderful individuals who are giving their time, serving on this foundation board, with the passion to support CNM in achieving academic goals. It is with pleasure that I report out these wonderful results and thank the many who are making this possible.

Adrian Chavez

Changing LivesBuilding Community Campaign

The CNM Foundation is grateful to the below investors for their participation in the “Building Community” Campaign to raise resources to help ensure that our students who enter our education/training programs are able to graduate and become successful members of our business community. To do so, we need more resources to make a significant impact on the retention and graduation rate of the 30,000 students we serve.

These supporters have made an investment in the future of New Mexico’s workforce and believe that our future economic outlook depends on the availability and quality of trained personnel. We are grateful for their belief in CNM’s return on investment for businesses and the New Mexico economy. We invite you to learn more about this campaign by visiting www.cnm.edu/donate.
