Therefore, support in terms of face masks, hand sanitizers and medical assistance are needed. 2. Johor - COVID- 19 Screening Tests were conducted in Hospital Sultanah Amimah and Klinik Kesihatan Bukit Indah by MERCY Malaysia volunteers. Highlights

The flood situation had shifted to recovery stage where

organizations, corporations and public have been providing

support with relief items such as cleaning kits, meals-ready

to eat, food packs back-to school items, and WASH facilities

to alleviate the situation of the flood victims.

Needs overview

Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH)

Situation have been recovering in Peninsula Malaysia,

Sarawak and Sabah. However, evacuees are facing difficult

situation due to damaged house utilities. Besides, cleaning

activities to be conducted to remove all the contaminated

water from polluting the housing areas.

Health and COVID-19

Supplies of essential medications and consultation are

required for evacuees needs. Besides, face masks and hand

sanitizers are required to avoid any COVID disease from

contacting especially in Johor and Sarawak rural areas.

Food and nutrition

Continuous supply of nutritious food is needed for the

evacuees staying in the evacuation centers. This include

meals ready-to-eat like biscuits, power bars, and canned

food. Not to forget, evacuees who have returned home are in

need of nutritious food supply such as rice and oil.

Logistics support

MERCY Malaysia require support to mobilise its teams, which

includes medical team (medical officers, medical assistance

and nurses), aid distribution team, technical team (for

recovery assessments) and cleaning team.

Education support

Not to forget, basic back-to-school items such as school

bags, shoes, socks and stationeries are now essentials that

are required by children affected by the flood.
