The Uniting Church in Australia 23 rd April, 2017 WELCOME TO THIS NEWS-SHEET OF EVENTS AND GENERAL INFORMATION from LEOPOLD UNITING CHURCH THE GIVING TREE Remember to rise each day, giving thanks and praise that the dawn greets you once again. May your daily toils help in reaping bountiful fruits. Do not be discouraged if your yield appears bare. For the love, hope, dreams and sacrifices sown from the faithful bear fruits of another kind. In faith the light of humanity and the waters of hope and providence have grounded your tree to the earth. If you see a tired traveller sleeping in the shade of its branches, allow them to rest. If you see birds with gathered twigs, allow them to nest. When a fallen limb is collected by your neighbour to keep their fire alight, be happy. Through all this, maintain the light and love for your tree. The traveller will return the next year bringing stories from afar to feed your imagination. The birds and their nestlings will thank you with their song to uplift and feed your spirits. Your neighbour will return with the bread of life birthed from the felled limb to feed your soul. All will give you thanks and praise. Remember, sometimes the strongest of roots bear fruits of another kind – the fruits of faith, hope and charity, the fruits of patience, love and compassion. Reflection: Praise now shall be everlasting to the wondrous glory-filled bounty of your giving tree. Let it grow as you do in faith, in love and in hope. Give, so it may grow. Russell D. The Uniting Church in Australia

23rd April, 2017 WELCOME TO THIS NEWS-SHEET OF EVENTS AND GENERAL

INFORMATION from LEOPOLD UNITING CHURCH

THE GIVING TREE Remember to rise each day, giving thanks and praise that the dawn greets you once again. The traveller will

return the next year bringing stories from afar to feed your imagination.
