Happy Labor Day weekend! It is always a blessing to celebrate the gift of life and work that is so essential in our growing as a person and fulfilling our potential as a child of God.
As you may notice, the bulletin has expanded this weekend. Our hope is the additional pages will help us to communicate more fully the life of the parish and how your stewardship offer-
ings of time, talent and treasure make a difference not only to our parishion-ers but also to the community of Campbell as a whole. As St. Lucy Parish grows the need to continue to evaluate how we serve our community and lead the community is very important. In the past year, with our inability to recruit new mem-bers to the various commissions and the growing lack of attendance at our monthly meetings we set up a working group to reevaluate the leadership model to retain what was positive and working and to change and renew the areas that were failing.
Over the next few months, Fr. Steve, members of the parish staff and myself will continue to meet with the Pastoral Council and other members of the parish to de-velop a new model that will meet the needs of our parish community today with the flexibility to adapt and change as the our parish adapts and changes to new realities.
We will continue to keep you informed and as always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact me and I will listen to you.

En el último año, con nuestra incapacidad para reclutar nuevos miembros para las diversas comisiones y con la creciente falta de asistencia a nuestras reuniones men-suales, creamos un grupo de trabajo para evaluar el mo-delo de liderazgo para retener lo positivo y cambiar o renovar las áreas que estaban fallando.

Adult Baptism, First Communion, & Confirmation: (RCIA) Sessions begin on Wednesday, September 14 at 7pm in the Parish Activity Center for adults 18+ looking to receive their Sacraments. Make an appointment with Andrew Brown in the parish office and complete a registration form. Sponsors from the parish are needed to journey with fellow adults looking to receive the sacraments. Some adults looking to receive are new to Silicon Valley, some know very little about Catholic doctrine, and some want to meet new mentors in the Catholic faith. Welcome to Pastoral Year Seminarian,
Victor Trinidad! Victor Trinidad is a seminarian studying to become a Catholic Priest for the Diocese of San Jose. He was born and raised in San Jose. He attended St. Vic-tor’s Elementary School, Bellarmine College Prep, and San Jose State University where he received his B.S. in Computer Science. He joined the diocese and entered St. Patrick’s Seminary in August of 2012. He hopes to become a priest to serve God and His Church.

Teen Faith Formation / Formación de Fe para Adolescentes Testimony: Volunteering with Life Teen By Esteban Arballo: EMT, Life Teen Core Member & Jesus Loving Guy I became involved with youth ministry when I was a sophomore in high school. My mom pretty much forced me into it and I had no choice. In just after one day my mind was changed. All it took was one night and then I was hooked. I felt accepted by all the leaders and the teens and on top of that I was having fun! We’d play games, watch videos, do all sorts of activities and oh yeah… talk about God. I really felt like I found a place where I belonged. Life Teen has been a defining factor in my life ever since. When Patty invited me to be a Core leader at St. Lucy I had to jump at the chance. I remember how much I looked up to the Core back in high school and I couldn’t believe that I was now being given the opportunity to be that person for someone else. I am now in my early twenties and I am still just as passionate about it as I was back then. I love be-ing able to share the love God has for His youth. I would tell any teen out there to just come check us out, just one night. If you like it you can come back. Whether as a teen or a volunteer you’ll see that soon you’ll be just as passionate about it as we all are here at St. Lucy.
Testimonio: Voluntario con Life Teen Por Esteban Arballo: Paramédico, Líder de Life Teen y Seguidor de Jesus Me involucré en el ministerio juvenil cuando era un estudiante de segundo año en la secundaria. Mi madre prácticamente me obligó y no tenía otra opción. Tan sólo después de un día mi mente fue cambiada. Sólo se necesitó una noche para quedar completamente enganchado. Me sentí aceptado por todos los líderes y los adolescentes y encima de eso era divertido! Nos gustaba jugar, ver vídeos, hacíamos todo tipo de activida-des y oh sí ... hablamos de Dios. Realmente me sentí que me encontré con un lugar donde pertenecía. Life Teen ha sido un factor determinante en mi vida desde entonces. Cuando Patty me invitó a ser Líder en St. Lucy salte a la oportunidad. Recuerdo lo mucho que estimaba a los líderes que tuve yo en la secundaria y no podía creer que ahora yo tendría la oportunidad de ser esa persona para los jóvenes. Ahora ya estoy en mis veinte y todavía estoy tan apasionados como en aquel entonces. Me encanta poder compartir el amor de Dios por Su jóvenes. Yo le diría a cualquier adolescente que venga a tan solo una visita, sólo una noche. Si te gusta puedes volver. Ya sea como un adolescente o un voluntario verán que pronto estarán tan apasiona-dos como lo estamos aquí en San Lucy.

We offer the following programs:
PRESCHOOL: St. Lucy offers catechesis for early childhood (Ages 3-5). Sundays from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM (in English).
GRADES K-6: Catechesis in English. The children receive the First Communion after their 2nd year of cat-echesis (no counting Kindergarten). Sundays from 10:00 to 11:15 AM or Wednesdays from 4 to 5:15 PM. We also offer ongoing catechesis.
GRADES 1-6: Catechesis in Spanish. The children receive the First Communion after their 2nd year of cat-echesis. Sundays from 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM or Tues-days from 4:00 to 5:15 PM. We also offer ongoing catechesis.

Eucharistic Adoration for Vocation Pope Francis said, "Becoming a priest or a man or woman religious is not primarily our own decision.... Rather it is the response to a call and to a call of love."
Let us pray for more response to the priestly and religious vocations. Join us in our Eucharistic Adoration for Vocations every Thursdays, from 3:15--4:15pm, and every first Saturday of the month, from 6:30pm-7:30pm.

Mass and Novena to Our Mother of Perpetual Help
The first Wednesday Mass and Novena in honor of Our Mother of Perpetual Help for the month of September has been moved to the following Wednesday, September 14, due to “Back to School Night” scheduled on first Wednesday, September 7. Everyone is invited, however, this coming Wednesday to join the regular Wednesday Rosary and Novena at the Parish Activity Center (PAC) Room B from 6PM – 7PM.
