EVANGELIZATION REVIVAL

November 15 through 17, 2015 here at St. Paul of the Cross

beginning with 10:00 a.m. Mass on Sunday

and continuing on Monday and Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.

Preacher—Rev. Maurice J. Nutt, C.Ss.R., D. Min.

My dear Parishioners,

A s you can see, we are making progress on PHASE ONE of

our construction project. Despite the rain, the new concrete

and structural steel work has been completed and soon, with

everything under roof, the interior work will begin. The

temporary Parish Office is now open on the first floor of the

school during the usual hours of the week. I am well aware

of the inconveniences; we all have to adapt somewhat to the

situation, but it is temporary, and I thank you for your coop-

eration and patience.

This weekend, we will welcome Auxiliary Bishop Zarama as

he comes to celebrate the sacrament of Confirmation with

sixteen of our youth. He is a great friend of mine and of the

parish and it is a joy to welcome him back. I have inter-

viewed all of our candidates and have found them well pre-

pared for the sacrament. I know you join me in congratulat-

ing them as they take this big step in their lives as Catholics.

I want to thank in a special way, Merlin Todd, their instruc-

tor, who as usual has done a marvelous job in preparing

them for their Confirmation. He did not spare himself de-

spite the fact that he has recently undergone kidney trans-

plant surgery. For this, I know, God will abundantly bless

him. I know also that you join me in thanking him. I am

also very grateful to Veronica Hodges-Johnson, our Director

of Religious Education for Children and Kristy Crawford,

our Youth Minister, for the great work they have done with

these young parishioners. Our parish is truly blessed to have

members such as these who share so much of themselves in

this valuable ministry of Christian formation.
