From Fr. Davy’s Desk:

TWENTY-EIGHTH SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME

In the month of October we pray especially for the missionaries and for the success of the

Pro-life movement. As we pray the Rosary together in our parish, let us ask Mother Mary’s

intercession in protecting God’s children, especially the unborn.

There are millions of abortions taking place around the world every year. If those millions had

a chance to live, they could have played a major role in the building up of a community, nation

and the world at large. All of us play our role because we got a chance to live on this planet. I

see in every human being a scientist, doctor, nurse, teacher, politician, businessman, preacher,

farmer, etc. The people who support abortion or do it do not realize that they are able to do it

only because their parents let them live. The world would have been different if we let them

all live. Many Albert Einsteins couldn’t see the light of the world. Many Gandhis couldn’t

come to this world due to abortion.

What shall we do to support the Pro-life movement? Prayer is the foundation of everything we

do. We can strengthen the movement, save lives, and change hearts and minds by praying

explicitly each day for an end to abortion, for the babies and their parents, for doctors and

public officials, and for all who are working in this great cause. This joint effort is to be

promoted in our families, parish, school, pro-life group, website and more!

Let the whole month of October echo in our life and prayer the silent screams of the unborn.

Defending the unborn is not simply a “hobby” or a political ideology. It is a spirituality, an

aspect of one’s discipleship of Christ. The pro-life movement works across party lines and

calls everyone to rediscover that the foundational principle of government the right

to life, and the duty of government to protect life.

no nacidos.
