Guide Book & Directory Advertising Opportunity
We are in the process of updating our annual Guide Book & Directory for the church. This book will contain everything pertinent to our church: the various ministries, organizations, committees, activities, functions and events plus a complete directory of all members. This book is being provided and direct-mailed to each family at no cost to our church, and it is again being subsidized by local businesses that advertise. If you own or manage a business and would like to find out about advertising in our book, please call the Church Office at 225-647-8461.
Recent survey results by Guide Book Publishing show that 92.1% of families would rather patronize a Guide Book & Directory advertiser over a non-advertiser. It “will pay” to advertise in our Guide Book & Directory.

Sacrificial Giving Mirrors the Gi of God’s Son
We are pleased to enter the Stewardship of Finance phase of our Total Stewardship program and invite you to give prayerful a en on to the material you receive regarding this important aspect of spiritual stewardship. The Scriptures connect the concepts of generosity and sacrifice, encouraging us to think of the example of Jesus Christ, and the great gi of God’s Son. God addressed our need for forgiveness and salva on by giving his very best, an act of extravagant mercy, and Jesus gave his all. In Christ, we learn that giving is sacrificial.
Mercy Surrounds Us.

April 21, 22 & 23rd Let’s Ring in the Spring!
Our 2017 Festival will be here before you know it! How can you help? Consider the following:
Become a Sponsor, or ask your favor ite business to be a sponsor ! Sponsor-
ships are very important to the overall success of the festival. Forms are available in the parish office. Feel free to pick one up!
Donate items for the auctions! We will once again have a Live Auction, as well as a Silent Auction for the fair. We are in need of items for both! Donate something from your business. Your name, or company name will be listed on the item , so it’s advertisement! Don’t own a business? Ask your favorite business to donate! Or...you can donate something of your own! Individual donations are greatly appreciated! We will gladly accept your items. The auction committee will decide if it will best suit the Live Auction...or the Silent Auction.
Donate items for the Fair Store! Hand-crafted items are greatly appreciated.
We also will accept new items, or “like new.” We are also looking for children’s toys. The kids love to shop in the store too! (Again, please only donate NEW or LIKE NEW items! All donated items can be dropped off in the parish office.
Sell Raffle Tickets! We have tickets available to pick up in the par ish office.
We are asking that each family sell one book for each raffle. Quilt Raffle tickets are $1 each with 10 in the book. Triple Play Raffle tickets are $5 each with 10 in the book. Books of tickets are available in the parish office and will also be avail-able after all Masses February 25 & 26 weekend.
Volunteer to Help! It takes all of us doing our par t to make our festival a suc-
cess. We will have a sign up form in next weekend’s bulletin. Please prayerfully consider donating your time for our festival. It’s a wonderful way to get to know more of your parish family. We need each of you! If you have limitations, we will be more than happy to accommodate you!
T-shirts for the festival are now on sale in the Parish Office.
Children’s sizes are $10 each and Adult sizes are $15
Brenda & Rita Breaux First Reading — Take no revenge and cherish no grudge; love your neighbor as yourself. (Leviticus 19:1-2, 17-18).
Psalm — The Lord is kind and merciful (Psalm 103).
Second Reading — You are the temple of God, and holy (1 Corinthians 3:16-23). Gospel — Offer no resistance; love your enemies (Matthew 5:38-48). DIVINE WISDOM The Lord’s message, through Moses, was to “take no revenge and cherish no grudge . . . love your neighbor as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18). We might think, “Great in theory, but not always realistic!” Then Jesus in
today’s Gospel goes even further. Take a slap in the face and then turn the other cheek? Treat enemies the same as friends? Again, we’re tempted to think that those are nice ideals, but not very practical in the “real world.” Paul echoes Jesus when he tells the Corinthians that what passes for human wisdom is absurdity to God. Divine wisdom casts sunshine on the good and the bad, showers rain on the honest and the dishonest—without distinction. We must examine our wisdom and common sense to see how they compare to the wisdom of God, and make adjustments accordingly. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.
