Lingaraj Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Harihara, a form of Shiva and is one of the oldest
temples in Bhubaneswar , the capital of the East Indian state of Odisha (formerly Orissa). he temple
is the most prominent landmar! of the Bhubaneswar city and one of the ma"or tourist attractions of
the state.

the !ins from the Somavamsi dynasty, with later additions from the 1ana rulers. he temple is
built in the Deula style that has four components namely, vimana (structure containin the
sanctum), jagamohana (assembly hall), natamandira (festival hall) and bhoga-mandapa (hall of

the Black Pagoda),#$% at onar!, inOdisha, India. It is believed that the temple was built by
!in 9arasimhadeva I of Eastern 1ana :ynasty around /: $&+. #&% he temple is in the shape of a
iantic chariot with elaborately carved stone wheels, pillars and walls. / ma"or part of the structure

he name Konark derives from the combination of the Sans!rit words, Kona (corner)
and Arka (sun), in reference to the temple which was dedicated to the Sun od Surya.

he monument was also called the Black Pagoda by European sailors. In contrast, the 5aannath
emple in 6uri was called theWhite Pagoda. Both temples served as important landmar!s for the

/lthouh the 5ains built some beautiful temples at other places in Ca"asthan, some believe that none
come close to these in terms of architectural perfection. he ornamental detail spreadin over the

Facilities are available for bathin, which is mandatory before pu"a is performed for the idols. hese
facilities use passive solar power to heat up the water for bathin and other thins. 1uided tour

Temple (annada?ಜಯರಯಣ ದವಸನ), was built on the ban!s of the Gaachi Civer in Belur, by
the Hoysala Empire in 4ishnuvardhana. Belur, which was an early Hoysala capital is in
the Hassan district of arnata!a state, India. It is 0+ !m from Hassan city and &&+ !m
from Banalore. <henna!esava (lit , handsome esava) is a form of the Hindu od 4ishnu. Belur is
