I would also like to thank all who had a hand in helping make this event so successful. Special thanks goes out to the families who hosted the young people overnight in homes; to Ladies of the Parish who served the meal to the choristers, Knights of Colum- bus for serving the social following the concert and to our staff members who worked to arrange things for the concert. NEW HYMNALS FOR THE CHURCH: As previously announced we are in need of new hymnals for the church. The green hymnals have been here for some time now and are wearing fast. Because of our new video equipment and the success we have had with it we don’t need to rely on the hymnal as much as before. In light of this we will only replace half the amount of hymnals as we had before. Those interested in donating a hymnal to the parish may make an offering of $20. The donor may request that the book be in memory or honor of someone they wish. For more information please contact the Parish Office. PARISH STEWARDSHIP OF TREASURE: On June 30, Holy Rosary Parish will close its financial books for fiscal year 2014-2015. To date we are behind approxi- mately $23,000 in our sacrificial giving goal (what we actually need to operate our parish). If you have fallen behind in your commitment to the parish and would like to help us shore up the deficit figure we would appreciate it. FORTNIGHT FOR FREEDOM: The Bishops of our country are encouraging us to observe The Fortnight for Freedom from June 21 through July 4. The theme for this year is The Freedom to bear witness to the Good News in our world, just as Jesus has sent us to do”. Today as part of this observance Holy Rosary Parish will have the Blessed Sacrament exposed on the altar for adoration and prayer after the 10:00 A.M. and will conclude with Benediction at 2:00 P.M. HOLY ROSARY FESTIVAL: On Sunday, August 16, our parish will again host its annual Parish Festival. The Festival Committee again this year is in need of many volunteers. This is our one big parish fundraiser of the year and we really need help if it is to be a success. Please contact Mary Hager ([email protected]) in the Parish Office. Thanks for your consideration!

ABOUT THE HYMNALS IN THE PEWS: Now that our video screens are installed and we have had a chance to use them it is apparent that more and more people are using them and will become used to them. In all likelihood, and as other par-ishes with systems like ours, we will still need some type of hymnal in the pew for music that is not used much or for those who only choose to use a hymnal. That said we would need to have something available and we will begin to solicit donations from those who would like to donate a hymnal in memory or honor of someone. Those names would then be inscribed in the inside front cover of the hymnal. We would most likely purchase about half as many as we have already. Those interested in donating a hymnal (the cost is $20) may contact the Parish Office.

The Knights of Columbus will be sponsoring a Pancake/French Toast and Sausage breakfast on Sunday, July 5th, from 8-12:30 in the Parish Center.

Our volunteer to help the poor and fire victims is in need of kitchen chairs, twin, full and queen size beds, microwave & a dishwasher. Please drop off at 1231 Lincoln Avenue,DL

JOIN REAL PRESENCE RADIO for our 4-day pilgrimage this September 23-26. We will be traveling to Holy Hill in Hubertus, WI, Marytown in Libertyville, IL, and Our Lady of Guadalupe in LaCrosse, WI. Cost: $525, includes lodging (double room), food, & transportation. Contact Lisa at (877) 795-0122 or [email protected] for more information. Registration deadline is August 24.

Help keep our School and Church grounds look-ing beautiful! If you enjoy being outside on these beautiful summer days and evenings, and are looking for something to do, consider helping us out! During the summer we want to keep our church and school grounds neat and clean, please at your convenience stop over to the Parish and help pull weeds, pick up litter and even water the plants.

Even an hour will help! This would make a great family service project.

We are looking for an individual or a group of individuals who would like to maintain the plants that we have inside the church. It’s a pretty easy job- basic watering and doing the upkeep of green plants inside the church and welcoming center. If you are interested, please contact Mary in the Parish Office. 847-1393.

Become a Cardinal! Holy Rosary Catholic School has openings in Kindergarten, Grade 4 and Grade 6 for the 2015-16 School Year. Registrations forms are available on line www.holyrosarycc.org or call the School Office at 847-5306 or call Principal Mike Connell at 844-

Bishop Hoeppner has invited parishes throughout the dio-cese to give thanks to God for the gift of religious freedom and to hold up this gift in the life of marriages, families and

parish communities. Bishop encourages pastors throughout the diocese to be unique in how these fourteen days are held up within the life of each individual par-ish. In addition, parish communities are invited to pray the Rosary before the Blessed Sacrament while praying for the following intentions: Peace throughout the world; our men and women serving in the Military; and World Leaders. Holy Rosary will have the Blessed Sacrament exposed on the altar for adoration and prayer after the 10:00 AM today, Sunday, June 28, and will conclude with Benediction at 2:00 PM.

What is XLT: Exalt or XLT is a night of praise and worship, a Keynote talk, ado-ration, confession. During this weekly event, the youth will hear a talk by our key-note speaker on the theme “God Is…”. Each presenter will speak about who God is (e.g. Love, present, real, power, etc.). When and Where is XLT: XLT is every Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. The night will begin with a communal dinner at 5:15 pm and XLT to follow around 6:00 pm. The night will conclude with a small social after the event in the Divine Mercy Youth Room. Who is invited to come: All youth from the parish and surrounding areas are invited to come.

Coffee With Mark: Gather to read and study the Sunday readings, reflect upon &

share how they impact your life. Monday, 10:00 am, Holy Family Room.

Dear Families: We have Liturgy of the Word for Children at the 10 am Mass during the summer. However, this coming Sunday, July 5 we will not be having it because it is the Independence Day week-end. Thanks for your understanding.

Attention First Communion Families: Your pictures from 1st Eucharist are in and available for pickup during Parish Office hours.

Dear Lord, There is no greater feeling of liberation than to experience this freedom from sin and death that you have provided for me through Jesus Christ. Today my heart and my soul are free to praise you. For this I am very thankful. On this Independence Day I am reminded of all those who have sacrificed for my freedom, follow-ing the example of your Son, Jesus Christ. Let me not take my freedom, both physical and spiritual, for granted. May I always remember that my freedom was purchases with a very high price. My freedom cost others their very lives. Lord, today, bless those who have served and continue to give their lives for my freedom. With favor and bounty meet their needs and watch over their families. Help me to live my life in a way that glorifies you, Lord. Give me the strength to be a blessing in someone else's life today, and grant me the opportunity to lead others into the freedom that can be found in knowing Christ. Amen
