Para cualquier tipo de seccin se distinguen los

siguientes tipos de cotas:

COTA NEGRA

COTA ROJA

Cota Negra = CN = Cota del Terreno

Cota Roja = CR = Cota de la subrasante o de la rasante segn el proyecto.

Cota de Trabajo = CT = CR-CN = Trabajo necesario a realizar verticalmente

sobre un punto, ya sea excavando o rellenando.

Son aquellos puntos donde la cota roja es igual a la cota negra. Es decir aquellos en

donde se pasa de corte a terrapln (o viceversa), tanto en sentido longitudinal del eje

como en el transversal del mismo .
