A Summer season of gigs, festivals and classes

April – July 2014

Soweto KinchMOBO Award Winner and Mercury Music Prize Nominee

Hello!“If you like your music eclectic, passionate and meaningful the show is on again tonight.”A member of the audience at our big celebratory show ‘Frontierland’ in March wrote this comment on Twitter after seeing the first performance. I like that. It seems to capture the spirit of More Music and of the work that we present.

This summer, shows at the Hothouse certainly will open ears to new sounds - whether it’s the return of the superb Moulettes, or the short residency with Soweto Kinch. We want you to hear high profile musicians supported by great local artists. Many of the support acts have developed through More Music’s own programmes and sessions.

If you have ever wanted to play an instrument or sing, we have plenty of sessions to choose from on pages 14 and 15. Please give us a call or pop in to find out more.

See you soon!

Soweto KinchThe Initiative Saturday 7 June 8pm Award winning alto-saxophonist and MC Soweto Kinch is one of the most exciting and versatile young musicians in both the British jazz and hip hop scenes. His recent album ‘The Legend of Mike Smith’ is a modern adaptation of Dante’s Seven Deadly Sins.

“I’m really excited about these shows, the stripped trio format allows me more harmonic freedom and space to deliver lyrics. Moreover, I’m excited about integrating new things into the show, such as tenor sax and live looping” Soweto Kinch

“The album is a real tour de force – a contemporary take on The Seven Deadly Sins.” The Guardian

Pete Moser is a songwriter, composer, producer and workshop leader who has spent years creating opportunities for people to develop and open up their imagination.
