The community desires, needs, and will support new retail and restau-rants:

• 86% of residents will support additional retail and restaurants (2013 survey).

• 89% of the community desires and sup-ports new development (2013 survey).

• 66% of persons routinely leave the area to eat and shop (2013 survey).

• $247 million discretionary income leak-age (10 minute proximity) (2016 ESRI).

• 150,000 daily vehicle trips along road-ways in or adjacent to the District.

• Eckerd College has over 2,000 students and staff located on the southern edge of the District. Eckerd College is a private and exclusive institution where most stu-dents live on campus.

• Tierra Verde (Zip Code 33715) was re-cently ranked as the 3rd wealthiest zip code in the multi-county Tampa Bay re-gion. The Skyway Marina District is the closest business district to this commu-nity.

• St. Petersburg College in the District has over 600 students and employees on their campus daily with plans to attract additional students.

• 6.1 million tourists are annually visiting Pinellas County.

• 540,000 persons annually visit Fort Deso-to Beach/County Park, most of which travel through or adjacent to the Skyway Marina District.

• Ceridian HCR campus, immediately west, has 1,200 employees with the potential for 1,500.

The City of St. Petersburg is committed to the Skyway Marina District:

• Up to $100,000 Retail/Restaurant Incentive - This incentive is available for qualifying new retail and restaurants locating within the District.

• Gateway Signs and Landscaping - 3 significant signs with LED illumina-tion have been constructed at 3 gateway locations with specimen palms as the backdrop. (Funding: $500,000; Completion: May 2016)

• Landscaping - All landscaped medians along 34th Street S have new plant-ings including specimen palms. The I-275 embankment landscaping has been upgraded. (Funding: $300,000; Completion: August 2016)

• Pedestrian Decorative Lights - Lights and banners adjacent to sidewalks will be installed on both sides of 34th Street. (Funding: $600,000; Expected Completion: Fall 2017)

• Bus Shelters - The City and PSTA are partnering to provide newly designed bus shelters at approximately a dozen bus stops throughout the District (City Funding: $200,000; Expected Completion: Fall 2017)

• Activity Center Designation - The City has approved a density of 45 resi-dential units/acre and an FAR of 1.12 north of 38th Avenue South and a den-sity of 60 residential units/acre south of 38th Avenue South, which is some of the highest density and intensity found outside of downtown.

• Skyway Marina District Organization - The City provides funds for a full-time executive director to concentrate on marketing and promotions, and business assistance exclusively for the Skyway Marina District. (Funding: $50,000 annually)

COMMUNITY COMMITMENT & DATAPUBLIC COMMITMENT

PRIVATE COMMITMENTThe private sector is investing in the Skyway Marina District:• Mixed-Use Project - Phillips Develop-

ment has been approved for 316 apart-ment units, 13,000 sf of commercial and 100,000 sf of self-storage at a cost of $70 million. (Groundbreaking: Sum-mer 2017)

• Bay Pointe Plaza - A new Publix store, refacing, and site upgrade of the shop-ping center has been undertaken by Brixmor. (Completed: December 2016)

• Maximo Marina - IGY Marinas is over-seeing a complete marina makeover. IGY currently manages numerous marinas including those in the New York Harbor and the Hamptons. (Cost: $20 million; Expected Completion: 2018)

• The Getaway - A new waterfront res-taurant will be located at Maximo Marina. (Cost: $2.2 million; Expected Comple-tion: End of 2017)

• Wawa - Convenience market, food mar-ket, and fuel station. (Cost: $5 million; Expected Completion: End of 2017)

• Wendy’s - Recently opened a new res-taurant at a cost of approximately $1.3 million.

• Burger King - Recently opened a new restaurant at a cost of approximately $1 million.

• Jabil Circuit - The computer manufac-turer recently relocated 400 employees from their Information Technology divi-sion to the Ceridian site within the Dis-trict.
