É com grande satisfação que recebemos o prémiode internacionalização Construir 2011.
É para nós um grande orgulho, com as muitasdificuldades que as empresas do sector têm sentido,o caminho que a MonteAdriano tem trilhado e pensamosque este prémio reconhece-o.
Recorde-se que o nome MonteAdriano surge daunião de duas empresas de construção, que em 2005deram esse passo para se fortalecer e iniciarem a suainternacionalização. Desde então o volume de negóciosinternacional passou de 4% para 40%, e passamos atrabalhar em 10 países e em 4 continentes.
No ano passado, e para se adaptar aos novosdesafios e contexto nacional, a MonteAdriano fezuma profunda reestruturação da sua estrutura nacionalconseguindo diminuir num terço os seus custos fixoso que implicou a saída de vários colaboradores, muitosdeles com 20 e 30 anos de casa.
Este reconhecimento que, em 2011, recebemospertence a todos os nossos colaboradores quediariamente se esforçam por levar os nossos valoresa todos estes países, AMBIÇÃO, COMPETÊNCIA eCREDIBILIDADE, mas também aos que já não estãoconnosco e que muito contribuíram para estarmosaqui hoje.

We are very pleased to receive the Internationalization
Award Construir 2011.
It is a great pride for us the path MonteAdriano has set,
even though the many difficulties the companies of this
sector have felt. We think this award recognizes that.
We should remember that the name MonteAdriano results
from the unifying of two construction companies, which, in
2005, have taken this step to get stronger and start their
internationalization. Since then, the international turnover
increased from 4% to 40%, and we began working in 10
countries and 4 continents.
Last year, in order to adapt the company to new challenges
and national context, MonteAdriano performed a
substantial national restructuring process, resulting in a
fixed costs decrease which led to the departure of several
employees, many of them have collaborated with us for 20
and 30 years.
This recognition belongs to all our employees who daily
strive to take our values to all these countries, AMBITION,
COMPETENCE and CREDIBILITY, but also to those who
worked with us and whose contribution was of great importance.

In the industry of mining and manufacturing of natural stone, the
cost of production is crucial in order to be competitive in a global
market.The optimisation/profitability of all operations is fundamen-
tal to the technical-economic evolution of the activity. From each
operation one must obtain the best possible performance.
The drilling of the rock mass is the first activity in the process of
extraction and processing, which ranges from the identification of
Geo-resources (solid) to a final product. The way this operation is
performed is, at a first stage, crucial for the success of the disman-
tling by use of explosives, which will also have a determining
influence on all subsequent activities.
The drilling has the particularity of being the activity that is in the
"top of the pyramid" in relation to the timing of implementation of all
the processes that culminate with the final product. In this context,
the drilling takes on an extremely important role, becoming the
optimisation of this important activity, because in addition to having
a direct consequence in its technical-economic result, its link with
its subsequent activities, namely: Loading and detonation,
secondary fragmentation, Loading and transport and Crus-
hing, makes its performance/outcome be closely linked with the
success of drilling.
The percentages that the main operations involved in this industry
represent, in terms of cost, are not evenly distributed (drilling,
loading/detonation, secondary fragmentation; loading and
transport and crushing). The crushing operation represents about
half of the total costs of operation. It is actually the most attractive
operation for optimisation, due to its weight.

Na indústria extractiva e transformadora de pedra natural, o custo
de produção é determinante para se ser competitivo num mercado
global. A optimização/rentabilização de todas as operações é
fundamental para a evolução técnico-económica da actividade. De
cada operação deve-se obter o maior rendimento possível.
A perfuração do maciço rochoso é a primeira actividade no
processo de extracção e transformação, que vai desde a identifi-
cação do georrecurso (maciço) até ao que resultará num produto
final. A forma como esta operação é executada é, numa primeira
fase, determinante para o sucesso do desmonte com recurso a
explosivos e consequentemente terá igualmente uma influência
determinante em todas as actividades subsequentes.
A perfuração tem a particularidade de ser a actividade que se
encontra no “topo da pirâmide”, relativamente à cronologia de
execução de todas os processos que culminam no produto final.
Neste contexto, a perfuração assume um papel de extrema
importância, tornando-se a optimização desta actividade funda-
mental, pois para além de ter uma consequência directa no seu
resultado técnico-económico, a sua interligação com as activida-
des subsequentes, nomeadamente: Carregamento e detona-
ção; Fragmentação secundária; Carga e transporte e Bri-
tagem, faz com que, o desempenho/resultado destas esteja intima-
mente ligado com o sucesso da perfuração.
As percentagens, que as principais operações envolvidas nesta
indústria, representam, em termos de custo, não são equitati-
vamente distribuídas (perfuração, carregamento/detonação, frag-
mentação secundária; carga, transporte e britagem). A operação
de britagem representa cerca de metade dos custos totais de
operação e é de facto a operação mais atractiva para optimização
devido ao seu peso.

Em contrapartida é a última do processo de extracção e trans-
formação, estando a sua rentabilidade dependente da qualidade
com que as operações antecedentes foram executadas.
A rentabilidade ou produtividade com que a carga e o transporte do
material desmontado é executada, depende essencialmente do
resultado do desmonte, em que uma boa fragmentação pers-
pectiva um bom rendimento em termos de factor carga. Apesar
desta operação apresentar-se como a segunda mais dispendiosa,
continua a depender bastante das anteriores e assim suces-
sivamente, sendo que as cinco principais operações de extracção e
transformação funcionam em cadeia, de uma forma sequencial,
sendo que a qualidade/rentabilidade com que uma operação é
realizada depende da anterior e influencia a seguinte. A natureza
desta operação, juntamente com a posição de topo que ocupa na
cadeia de produção, torna-a merecedora de uma atenção e
dedicação especial.
Na primeira fase do trabalho efectuou-se um reconhecimento de
campo para se definir os constrangimentos cartográficos e
geológico-estruturais dos maciços em exploração e respectiva
área envolvente. Numa fase seguinte procedeu-se à recolha,
tratamento, análise e interpretação dos dados geológicos, geoté-
cnicos e geomecânicos do maciço. Esta abordagem integrada
permitiu a descrição e o zonamento geológico-geotécnico dos
maciços em estudo, tendo-se seguido as recomendações da ISRM
(1981, 2007), da GSE (1995) e da CFCFF (1996).
Numa fase subsequente está incluída o registo dos parâmetros
ligados ao diagrama de fogo, ao ciclo de perfuração, ao equipa-
mento e acessórios de perfuração onde se engloba o ciclo de
afiação dos bits de perfuração, bem como outras condicionantes
da bancada e monitorização dos desvios de perfuração e dos
custos envolvidos nas diversas operações de perfuração.
Foram criadas bases de dados, que estão complementadas por um
tratamento geoestatístico exploratório, que permitirá aferir a
variabilidade dos desvios de perfuração e avaliar a componente
técnico-económica em função dos elementos supracitados.
Da interpretação de todos os dados geológicos, geotécnicos e
geomecânicos resultou um zonamento geotécnico (sub)super-
ficial, bem como uma optimização directa que foi conseguida na
perfuração e o impacto positivo que a optimização ao nível da
qualidade da perfuração teve nas actividades subsequentes.
In contrast, it is the last of the processes of extraction and transfor-
mation, and its profitability depends on the quality with which the
preceding operations were performed.
The profitability or productivity with which the load and transport of
the dismantled material is performed, depends essentially on the
result of the dismantling, in which a good fragmentation foresees a
good performance in terms of the load factor. Although this opera-
tion appears as the second most expensive, it still depends a lot on
the previous ones and so on, and the five major mining and
transformation operations work in chain, in a sequential manner,
and the quality/profitability with which an operation is performed
depends on the previous one and influences the following one.The
nature of this operation, along with the top position it occupies in the
chain of production, makes it worthy of special attention and
dedication.
In the first phase of the work, a field reconnaissance was carried out
to define the constraints and geological-structural mapping of the
solids to be explored and their surrounding area. In a next stage we
proceeded to the collection, processing, analysis and interpretation
of the geological, geo-technical and geo-mechanical data of the
solid.This integrated approach enabled the description and zoning
of the geological and geo-technical solids under study, having
followed the recommendations of the ISRM (1981, 2007), GSE
(1995) and CFCFF (1996).
In a subsequent stage we included the registration of parameters
linked to the diagram of fire, the cycle of drilling, and the drilling
equipment and accessories, which includes the cycle for shar-
pening the drilling bits and other constraints of the bench and
monitoring of drilling deviations and costs involved in the various
drilling operations.
Databases were created, which are complemented by a geo-
statistical exploratory treatment, which will assess the variability of
deviations of the drilling and evaluate the technical-economic com-
ponent, based on the information mentioned above.
The interpretation of all the geological, geo-mechanical and geo-
technical data resulted in a (sub) surface geo-technical zoning and
in the direct optimisation that was achieved in drilling, and the
positive impact that the optimisation in terms of drilling quality has
had on subsequent activities.

MonteAdriano recently completed the works of the School Centres
of Portela and Cabeça Santa, in the municipality of Penafiel,
estimated at about 2.2 million euros. With the construction of these
two centres, the local authority intended to provide the necessary
conditions for the reception of students coming in - in the case of the
Portela School Centre - from the two primary schools in the parish
that, with this new infrastructure will close, and, in the case of
Cabeça Santa, the students coming in from three schools. With the
start of the operation of the two schools, the municipality has
managed to create the required number of classrooms for the
reception of the students, as well as other essential facilities
including cafeteria, multipurpose hall, library, playground and
teacher 's lounge.
A MonteAdriano concluiu recentemente as obras dos Centros
Escolares de Portela e Cabeça Santa, no concelho de Penafiel,
orçadas em cerca de 2,2 milhões de euros. Com a construção
destes dois centros, a autarquia pretendeu disponibilizar as
condições necessárias para a recepção dos alunos provenien-
tes, no caso do Centro Escolar da Portela, das duas escolas do
1º ciclo do ensino básico da freguesia que, com este novo
equipamento, deverão encerrar. Já no caso de Cabeça Santa os
alunos são provenientes de três escolas. Com a entrada em
funcionamento dos dois Centros Escolares, a autarquia conse-
guiu criar o número necessários de salas de aula à recepção dos
alunos, bem como outras instalações essenciais nomeada-
mente refeitório, polivalente, biblioteca, campo de jogos e salas
de professores.

A MonteAdriano Engenharia e Construção (MAEC) foi distinguida
com o Prémio de Internacionalização na Gala do Construir 2011. A
cerimónia decorreu no Casino de Lisboa e distinguiu as empresas,
personalidades e obras que mais se distinguiram em 2011. A
votação foi da responsabilidade dos leitores do Jornal Construir.
A atribuição deste galardão vem confirmar a estratégia de
internacionalização que a empresa tem levado a cabo nos últimos
anos e é um prémio de reconhecimento do trabalho de todos nós.
Foi com orgulho que vimos distinguido o melhor projecto do ano
passado – o Museu do Côa – tendo sido a sua construção da
responsabilidade da MAEC.
MonteAdriano Engineering and Construction (MAEC) was awarded
with the Prize for Internationalisation at the Building Gala 2011.The
ceremony took place at the Lisbon Casino and distinguished
companies, personalities and works that in 2011 distinguished the
most. The vote was from the responsibility of the readers of the
'Construir' Newspaper.
The awarding of this prize confirms the internationalisation strategy
that the company has undertaken in recent years and is an award
that recognizes all of our work.
It was with pride that we witnessed the distinguishing of the Côa
Museum for best project of last year, its construction have been the
responsibility of MAEC.

A Ambisys apresentou uma nova unidade piloto do reactor SLS de
15 m3, desenvolvida internamente, para a co-digestão anaeróbia
de efluentes e resíduos orgânicos, com produção de biogás, um
projecto que se encontra co-financiado pelo QREN. A prova de
conceito está a ser realizada na LIPOR - Serviço Intermuni-
cipalizado de Gestão de Resíduos do Grande Porto, utilizando para
o efeito a fracção orgânica dos resíduos Sólidos Urbanos recolhida
no âmbito do projecto “Recolha Selectiva de Resíduos Orgânicos –
Grandes Produtores” e lamas de Estações de Tratamento de
Águas Residuais (ETAR).
A introdução da tecnologia no mercado está prevista para o final de
2011, sendo os principais mercados alvo, a indústria Agro-
Alimentar, Agro-Pecuária e tratamento de resíduos orgânicos, bem
como o mercado externo, uma vez que, a referida tecnologia
permite gerar créditos de carbono.

recirculação de lamas ou sólidos com ou sem tendência flotável. A
retenção dos sólidos no interior do digestor é fundamental para que
se preserve a actividade dos microrganismos e consequentemente
se assegure uma produção contínua de biogás. O biogás produz-
ido, sendo uma fonte de energia renovável, pode constituir um
elemento fundamental para a autonomia energética ou menor
dependência de combustíveis fósseis, de determinadas unidades
industriais. A tecnologia SLR desenvolvida e patenteada pela
Ambisys distingue-se das actualmente existentes no mercado pelo
facto de ser compacta (a redução do tempo de retenção hidráulica
dentro do digestor anaeróbio traduz-se na redução do volume
necessário) e por não conter partes mecânicas para agitação do
conteúdo do digestor o que se traduz numa redução de custos de
manutenção. Adicionalmente, a tecnologia, é ainda passível de ser
aplicada em projectos de Mecanismos de Desenvolvimento Limpo,
em países emergentes, contribuindo para a geração de créditos de
carbono que podem ser comercializados n o Mercado de Carbono.
Ambisys presents, in the Lipor facilities, the new pilot plant of the
SLS reactor of 15m3, developed internally for anaerobic co-
digestion of wastewater and organic waste with biogas production,
a project that is co-financed by the NSRF. The proof of concept is
being held at LIPOR - Intermunicipal Service of Waste Manage-
ment of Greater Porto, using for this purpose the organic fraction of
urban solid waste collected within the project "Selective Collection
of Organic Waste - Large Producers" and mud from Wastewater
Treatment Plants (WWTP).
The introduction of technology in the market is scheduled for the
end of 2011, the main target markets being the farming and agro-
food industry, and organic waste treatment, as well as the foreign
market, seeing as such technology can generate carbon credits.

The reactor is equipped with a system of retention, separation and
re-circulation of mud or solids with or without floatable tendency.The
retention of solids inside the digester is crucial in order to preserve
the activity of microorganisms and thus ensure a continuous
production of biogas. The biogas produced is a renewable energy
source, and can therefore be a key element for energy autonomy or
less dependence on fossil fuels, for some industrial units. The SLR
technology developed and patented by Ambisys, distinguishes itself
from others currently on the market because it is compact (the
reduction of time in the hydraulic retention inside the anaerobic
digester is reflected in the reduction of volume required) and does
not contain mechanical parts for agitating the contents of the
digester, which reflects in a reduction of maintenance costs.
Additionally, the technology is still capable of being applied in
projects of Clean Development Mechanisms, in developing coun-
tries, contributing to the generation of carbon credits that can be
traded in the Carbon Markets.

A unidade piloto de co-digestão anaeróbia é composta porum conjunto de elementos que, quando em funcionamentosimultâneo, permitem o processamento adequado dosresíduos.
Para alimentação do reactor estão a ser utilizados osresíduos orgânicos que são misturados, no tanque dealimentação, com uma corrente líquida de lamas de ETAR.
A mistura de alimentação e lamas provenientes do reactoré aquecida através de um permutador de calor até àtemperatura de cerca de 35 ºC e transferida, porbombagem, para o digestor anaeróbio onde ocorre a suadigestão.
Os equipamentos de controlo e operação da UnidadePiloto que apresentam menor dimensão, tais equipamentoanalítico, sistema de automação e controlo entre outros,estão no interior de um contentor móvel. Os restantes,nomeadamente o digestor, tanques de alimentação earmazenamento, no espaço contíguo exterior ao contentor.
Até ao momento verifica-se a eficácia do separadorcolocado no interior do digestor, assistindo-se já, na fasede arranque, a uma separação de fases da mistura.
The pilot plant for anaerobic co-digestionconsists of a set of elements that, whenoperating simultaneously, allow the properprocessing of waste.
For powering the reactor, organic waste is beingused, which is mixed inside the feed tank, with aliquid current of WWTP mud.
The mixture of food and mud from the reactor isheated by a heat exchanger up to a temperatureof about 35°C and transferred, by pumping, tothe anaerobic digester where digestion occurs.
The smaller control and operation equipment ofthe pilot plant, such as analytical equipment,automation and control system, among others,are inside a mobile container. The remaining,including the digester, feed tanks and storage,are in a contiguous space outside the container.
So far we have observed the effectiveness of theseparator being placed inside the digester,noticing a separation of phases of the mixture,from the start-up phase.

strengthens servicesin AscendiEcovisão was awarded several services of Environmental
Monitoring in the process of Exploration of the Concessions
in the North, the Costa de Prata, Grande Porto and Douro
Interior, by the Ascend concessionaire. These contracts
carry on the services provided by Ecovisão in these projects,
consolidating the cooperation with the concessionaires of
the ASCENDI Group since 2005.
Foram adjudicados à Ecovisão diversos serviços de Moni-
torização Ambiental em fase de Exploração nas Concessões
Norte, Costa da Prata, Grande Porto e Douro Interior, por
parte da concessionária ASCENDI. Estas adjudicações dão
continuidade aos serviços prestados pela Ecovisão nestes
projectos, consolidando a colaboração tida com as conces-
sionárias do Grupo ASCENDI desde 2005.

Subconcessão do Douro Interior, nos Lotes 5 (IP2), 6.1 (IC5) e 10 (IP2).
Cumprimento rigoroso dos Programas de Monitorização Ambiental de cada lanço,

awarded contracts in Angola, worth about 175 million U.S. dollars,
among which: the rehabilitation of the road and works of art between
Bailundo/S. Miguel/Luvemba and the crossing at Cassongue;
service stations of Sonangalp at Zango and Catete; the
conservation of the road section between Quibala and Wako Kungo
of the client INEA; paving at the GOVE Dam; the first phase of the
Huambo landfill of the client Huambo Provincial Government; and,
finally, the construction, in a consortium, of an infrastructure in an
area of 60 hectares, where two thousand social homes will be built
for the Horizonte project, in the city of Lossombo, province of
Huambo, for the client KORA.This work is included in the project "My
Dream, My Home" and includes paving of the road infrastructure,
water supply networks, drainage of domestic wastewater, electricity
supply and street lighting.
These new awards reflect the commitment of MAEC in its main

Bailundo/ S. Miguel/ Luvemba e cruzamento de Cassongue; os
postos de abastecimento da Sonangalp no Zango e em Catete; a
conservação do troço da estrada entre Quibala e Wako Kungo do
cliente INEA; pavimentações na Barragem do GOVE; primeira fase
do aterro sanitário do Huambo do cliente Governo Provincial do
Huambo; e, por último, a construção, em consórcio, de infra-

Maio, Junho e meados de Julho, tendo em final de Julho iniciado a
construção efectiva da Barragem que é constituída por cerca de
30.000 m3 de alvenaria argamassada, tem uma Galeria interna,
tendo cerca de 180 ml de comprimento e cerca da 25 mt de altura,
permitindo após a sua conclusão de retenção de cerca de 750.000
m3 de água para efeitos de rega agrícola.

started, which consists of approximately 30,000 m3 of mortared
masonry, has an internal Gallery, with around 180 ml in length and

O presente trabalho centra-se num sistema de gestão de redes
viárias, actualmente em desenvolvimento, direccionado para o
mercado de serviços de gestão neste segmento, por via de um
conjunto de soluções (algumas desenvolvidas especificamente
para este fim), em que se combina a utilização de sensores de
aquisição de dados de última geração, em paralelo com rotinas de
análise de dados, nas quais a detecção automática por via de
processamento de imagens digitais tem grande destaque.
Do ponto de vista conceptual, está em causa tornar possível
inventariar, através de aquisição de dados a partir de uma viatura
(SIMI, Sistema Móvel de Inventário) que opera à velocidade normal
do tráfego (Figura 1), as infra-estruturas (pavimentos, obras de arte
e taludes), as dependências e os equipamentos que existem nas
vias rodoviárias; proceder à avaliação do seu estado de conserva-
ção e à definição de estratégias de manutenção; centrando-se a
análise na qualidade do serviço prestado aos utentes e na optimi-
zação da gestão do ciclo de vida da via e dos equipamentos
complementares a esta.
This work focuses on a management system for road networks,
currently under development, targeting the market for management
services in this segment, via a set of solutions (some developed
specifically for this purpose), which combine the use of last
generation sensors of data acquisition, in parallel with routine data
analysis, in which the automatic detection, by means of digital
image processing, has great merit.
From the conceptual point of view, this involves the possibility of
inventorying through data acquired through: the use of a vehicle
(SIMI, Mobile Inventory System) that operates at normal traffic
speed (Figure 1), the infrastructure (pavements, works of art and
slopes), the dependencies and equipment that exist on the roads;
makes an assessment of the state of conservation and of the
definition of maintenance strategies, focusing the analysis on the
quality of service provided to users and optimising the management
of the lifecycle of the road and equipment complementary to it.

fissuração e a irregularidade do pavimento, juntamente com a
constituição através do método georadar. O sistema terá autono-
mia para períodos de operação até 10 horas, assegurando dados
georeferenciados com recurso a um sistema de posicionamento
dinâmico integrando um receptor de GPS duplo, um Dispositivo de
Medição de Distância acoplado a uma das rodas e um sistema
inercial (IMU).
Data acquisition has - in its automatic detection using stereoscopic
pairs of images - a key component in terms of reducing time and
labour costs of back-office editing.The use of sensors to assess the
state of cracking and the irregularity of the pavement is included,
along with the constitution through the geo-radar method. The
system will have autonomy for operation periods up to 10 hours,
providing geo-referenced data using a dynamic positioning system
integrating a double GPS receiver, a distance-measuring device
coupled to a wheel and an inertial system (IMU), made up of
gyroscopes and accelerometers of 3 axis, based on optic fibre
technology.
This data acquisition system (SIMI) will be integrated into a broader
perspective of a Road Asset Management System (SARA®) that
crosses historical data of the network, with data obtained by the
model of detection and automatic geo-referencing.
The development and tuning of algorithms will provide objective
and rational indicators to support management decision-making in
the operation of the network's roads. The purpose of SARA® is to
provide this type of decision criteria, regardless of the organiza-
tional level of the managing entity, the complexity of the road
network in question, or the information available on it. This is
accomplished through the inventorying and characterization of the
network at normal traffic speed, which will acquire information of
some hundreds of kilometres per day. In turn, the automatic
detection function on the acquired images will quickly provide the
information input to the system for calculating indicators that reflect
the state of the network.

A MonteAdriano Engenharia e Construção participa, em consórcio,
na empreitada da linha do TGV que liga Tânger a Casablanca. O
contrato de 23 milhões de euros destina-se às terraplanagens com
vista à construção da linha. A cerimónia de lançamento da obra, do
comboio de alta velocidade da linha (TGV) para ligarTânger, Rabat
e Casablanca em 2015, contou com a presença do rei Mohammed
VI e o presidente francês, Nicolas Sarkozy e decorreu na gare
ferroviária de Tânger-Ville. Este é o primeiro TGV no continente
Africano e no mundo árabe.

A organização do torneio surgiu de um desafio lançado pelos
Presidentes do Turismo do Porto e Norte de Portugal e Câmara
Municipal de Vila Nova de Cerveira, que propuseram à Adminis-
tração do Grupo a realização deste evento.
No primeiro dia, depois dos jogos de acesso à final, houve um
lanche no Bar da Piscina, em que os convidados tiveram a
oportunidade de usufruir da magnífica paisagem, bem como do
pôr-do-sol, tendo com cenário de fundo o Rio Minho. A final e
definição do 3º classificado no segundo dia de provas e que contou
com a presença de várias individualidades para a cerimónia de
entrega de prémios e jantar oferecido aos participantes no
Restaurante do Hotel “O Peregrino”.
Este evento teve como principais objectivos fomentar a prática do
desporto e promoção da unidade hoteleira. O presidente da C.M.
de Cerveira, José Manuel Carpinteira, destacou a importância para
Vila Nova de Cerveira (Vila das Artes) ter uma infra-estrutura
hoteleira com esta qualidade e com uma localização que permite
desfrutar de uma paisagem única no Alto-Minho.Já o presidente do
Turismo do Porto e Norte de Portugal, Melchior Moreira, elogiou o
Grupo Monte pelo dinamismo que tem demostrado neste sector,
permitindo dar a conhecer a região do Alto-Minho.Reforçou ainda o
retorno do investimento que este tipo de eventos proporciona.
Neste evento, todos os resíduos de plásticos produzidos nos dois
dias (ex. garrafas da água) foram reciclados na unidade que o
Grupo dispõe (Gintegral), tendo assim, contribuído para um am-
biente melhor.
The organization of the tournament rose from a challenge brought
forward by the Presidents of Tourism of Porto and Northern
Portugal, and of the Municipality of Vila Nova de Cerveira, who
proposed the holding of this event to the Group's Administration.
In the first day, after the games of access to the finals, there was a
snack at the Pool Bar, where guests had the opportunity to enjoy the
magnificent landscape and the setting of the sun, with River Minho
as backdrop.The final and definition of the 3rd place was held on the
second day of the games, which included the presence of several
individuals for the awards ceremony, and dinner was offered to the
participants, at the Hotel Restaurant "O Peregrino".
This event's main objective was to promote the practice of sport and
promote the hotel unit.The president of the CerveiraTown hall, José
Manuel Carpinteira, stressed the importance of Vila Nova de
Cerveira (Village of the Arts) having a hotel unit with this quality and
with a location that allows one to enjoy a unique landscape in the
Upper-Minho. The president of Tourism of Porto and Northern
Portugal, Melchior Moreira, praised the Monte Group for the dyna-
mism it has demonstrated in this sector, allowing the dissemination
of the Upper-Minho region. He further reinforced the return on
investment that this type of event provides.
In this event, in addition to its environmentally friendly natural cha-
racteristics, all plastic waste produced along the two days (e.g.
water bottles) were recycled in the unit that the Group has
(Gintegral), thus, contributed to a better environment.
