New Westgate Kiddush Takanah To Go Into Effect After Pesach

Responding to many complaints from the oilum, the Rabbonim of Westgate have banded together to make a new takanah. It seems that many have felt that it is not fair that there is no “adult table” by kiddushim. “You walk into a kiddush, the smell is delicious, but no place to sit. All you can do is watch and wait, watch and wait...” It gets worse, “You can’t even make kiddush, because the grape juice is being used by the kids.” The Vaad has therefore recommended, and the Rabbonim have enacted, a new takonoh that there should be at least one table for adults. At this point they are only saying that there should be room 4 the adults 2 stand. There is a possibility that in the near future that they will even recommend that there should be seats at the table! It all depends on how the kids take to the new takonoh.

As with every takanoh, there is opposition. Some parents are saying that it is insulting to the children. “In this day and age, we have to be respectful to the next generation,” says Rabbi Ch. Roundtable, a noted chinch expert who has written for many publications. “Most children only work with positive.” Professor B. Li Daas, a parenting expert for the US government, agrees. “Just read the Readers Bite in the paper and you will see how important it is to work with positive reinforcement.” But the Rabonim felt otherwise. There must be at least some respect left for the adults.

Gazebo Park To Be Renamed ‘Tahrir Square’

Residents of Westgate are up in arms. They’ve had enough and want to secede. The taxes are too high and are not receiving the same benefits as the others in Lakewood. After two weeks of constant protests and demonstrations in the Gazebo Park, the Vaad is ready to rename the park to Tahir Square, otherwise known as Liberation Square. “It worked over there, why should it not work here?” said B. Z. Body, one of leaders of the movement. “Enough is enough.” Matters reached a boiling point when the garbarge truck drove through Westgate and left more garbage then there was before he came. Spontaneous chants of, “We want our own garbage man” and

“Mubarak must go” were heard throughout the night. The demonstrators, who are mostly youth, are proposing hope and change. As with most hafganos, there are many different camps. The largest group wants to secede from Lakewood. A much smaller, but substantially more vocal crowd, wants to leave New Jersey altogether, and form their own state. It’s not clear why, but rumor has it that it may have something to do with the fact that Senator Singer still represents us in the state government. The group wants the new state to be called The State Of Confusion. So far the demonstrations have remained peaceful, however, officials are fearful of it turning violent. In an interview with The Westgate Monthly, an anonymous member of the Postal Service, said, “This has all the markings of a full fledged hafgona. Big garbage bins, high taxes, curvy streets with funny names... I’m just waiting for it to really get going.” What’s unclear is what the UN is planning to do. Ban Ki Va Moon, the Secretary General of the organization, tried to reach the Vaad, but as of press time he was unsure who the Vaad was. Messages to the Vaad were not returned, because nobody knows where to leave them. (Them means the messages.)

controversy’, that I feel

comfortable expressing

myself in such a public forum. It’s the “freezer”. I think

should wait for the bocherim that come late to go first.

Dear R’ Dovid Recently, one Menahel told a class upon their receiving their גמרות that by mastering even 1 Blat they will have learned enough words to make a leining on any גמרא in ש"ס.I was learning with a boy from that class a גמרא which he was unfamiliar with, but he proceeded to make a leining with certain confidence. When I commented that I was duly impressed he told me what his Menahel had said. This budding young Talmid Chochom was Zocheh to take these words to heart. His Menahel in this short message empowered him to achieve results. When we show a Talmid what tools possesses he can accomplish great things. To prevent “I don’t know anything, I have no idea what I just read”, empower the Talmid and let him see for himself what he does know. Have him translate all the words he knows (it will be helpful if he

writes each word with its translation). Encourage him to find the שרש prefix and suffix of each word that he could not translate and try to decode the word. Once he has completed his translation he should write over these same words as a sentence. Let him read the sentence and see if it makes sense. By this point he will have developed a feeling for the direction of the You have now empowered .גמרא or פסוקhim to use his own learning skills.
