CHILDREN AND VULNERABLEPERSON SAFETY Do not let persons, children included,

with reduced physical sensory, reducedmental functions or lack of experienceand knowledge use the appliance. Theymust have supervision or instruction forthe operation of the appliance by a per-son who is responsible for their safety.Do not let children play with the appli-ance.

Keep all packaging away from children.There is the risk of suffocation or injury.

Keep all detergents away from children. Keep children and pets away from the

appliance when the door is open. Before you close the appliance door,

make sure that children and pets arenot into the drum.

If the appliance has a child safety de-vice, we recommend to activate it.

CHILD SAFETY DEVICE When you activate this device, you can-

not close the door. This prevents chil-dren or pets to be closed in the drum.To activate the device, turn it clockwise,until the groove is horizontal. To deacti-vate the device, turn it counterclock-wise, until the groove is vertical.

GENERAL SAFETY Do not use the appliance for professio-

nal use. The appliance is only for do-mestic use.

Do not change the specifications of thisappliance. There is the risk of injury anddamage to the appliance.

Do not put flammable products oritems that are wet with flammableproducts in, near or on the appliance.Risk of explosion or fire.

Obey the safety instructions on the de-tergent packaging to prevent burns toeyes, mouth and throat.

Make sure that you remove all metalobjects from the laundry. Hard andsharp material can cause damage tothe appliance.

Do not touch the glass of the doorwhile a programme operates. The glasscan be hot (only for front-loading appli-ances).

CARE AND CLEANING Deactivate the appliance and discon-

nect the mains plug from the mainssocket.

Do not use the appliance without thefilters. Make sure that the installation ofthe filters is correct. An incorrect instal-lation causes water leakages.

INSTALLATION The appliance is heavy, be careful when

you move it. Do not transport your appliance with-

out the transit bolts, you can damageinternal components and cause leak-ages or malfunctions.

Do not install and connect a damagedappliance.

Make sure to remove all packaging andtransport bolts.

Make sure that the mains plug is dis-connected from the mains socket dur-ing installation.

Only a qualified person must do theelectrical installation, the plumbing andthe installation of the appliance. This toprevent the risks of structural damageor injury.

Do not install or use the appliancewhere the temperature is less than 0 C.

When you install the appliance on acarpet floor, make sure that there is aircirculation between the appliance andthe carpet. Adjust the feet to have thenecessary space between the applianceand the carpet.

Water connection Do not connect the appliance with old

hoses already used. Only use new ho-ses.

Make sure not to cause damage to thewater hoses.

Do not connect the appliance to newpipes or pipes not used for a long time.Let the water flow for some minutes,then connect the inlet hose.

The first time you use the appliance,make sure that the water hoses and thecouplings do not have leakages.

Electrical connection Make sure that the appliance is earth-

ed. Make sure that the electrical informa-

tion on the rating plate agrees with thepower supply.

Always use a correctly installed shock-proof socket.

Do not use multiple plugs and exten-sion cables. There is a risk of fire.

Do not replace or change the mains ca-ble. Contact the service centre.

Make sure not to cause damage to themains plug and cable.

Connect the mains plug to the mainssocket only at the end of the installa-tion. Make sure that there is access tothe mains plug after the installation.

Do not pull the mains cable to discon-nect the appliance. Always pull themains plug.

DISCARD THE APPLIANCE1. Disconnect the mains plug from the

mains socket.2. Cut off the mains cable and discard it.3. Discard the door catch. This prevents

children or pets to be closed in theappliance. There is a risk of suffoca-tion (only for front-loading applian-ces).

FThe display shows the following information: Duration of the selected programme

After setting a programme, the duration is displayed in hours andminutes (for example ).

After the programme has started, the remaining time is updatedevery minute.

Delay start When setting a delay start, the display shows the delay time (20

hours max.) for about 3 seconds (for example ), and then itshows again the programme duration.

The delay time value decreases by one unit every hour and then,one hour before the end of the programme, the time decreases ev-ery minute.

Incorrect option setting In case of wrong setting the display shows the message Err and the

yellow light of the button 8 starts blinking. Alarm codes

If an operating problems occur, the display can show some alarmcodes, for example (see chapter Troubleshooting).

End of the programme At the end of the programme the display shows blinking zero ,

the symbol disappears and the door can be opened.

The symbol is on: the door cannot be opened. The appliance isperforming a washing programme.

ACOUSTIC SIGNALSThe machine is provided with an acousticdevice, which sounds in the following ca-ses: at the end of the cycle in the event of operating problems.By pressing the 3 and 4 buttons simulta-neously for some seconds, the acousticsignal is deactivated (except for theevents of operating problems). By press-ing these two buttons again, the acousticsignal is reactivated.

CHILD SAFETY LOCKThis device permits you to leave the ap-pliance unsupervised and not to worrythat children might be injured by or causedamage to the appliance.This function remains able also when thewashing machine is not working.There are two different ways to set thisoption:

Before pressing button 8: it will be im-possible to start the machine.

after pressing button 8: it will be impos-sible to change any other programmeor option.

To enable or disable this option press si-multaneously for about 6 seconds buttons

4 and 5 until the symbol comes on ordisappears from the display.

EXTRA RINSE OPTIONWith this function you can keep the extrarinse function permanently on when youset a new programme. To activate the function press button 2

and button 3 at the same time until thedisplay shows the symbol .

To deactivate the function press button2 and button 3 at the same time untilthe symbol goes off.

Standard programmes for theEnergy Label consumptionvaluesThe cotton 60 C economy and cotton 40C economy are the standard cotton pro-grammes for normally soiled cotton laun-dry. They are suitable to clean normally

soiled cotton laundry and they are themost efficient programmes in terms ofcombined energy and water consumptionfor washing that type of cotton laundry.They agree with EN60456.

The actual water temperature maydiffer from the declared cycletemperature.

FIRST USE1. To activate the drain system, put 2 li-

tre of water in the main wash com-partment of the detergent dispenser.

2. Put a small quantity of detergent inthe main wash compartment of the

detergent dispenser. Set and start aprogramme for cotton at the highesttemperature without laundry. This re-moves all possible dirt from the drumand the tub.

DAILY USE1. Open the appliance door.2. Put the laundry in the drum, one item

at a time. Shake the items before youput them in the appliance. Make sure

not to put too much laundry in thedrum.

3. Close the door.

Make sure that no laundry stays betweenthe seal and the door. There is a risk ofwater leakage or damage to the laundry.

FILLING THE DETERGENT AND ADDITIVES

MAX

The detergent compartment for the prewash phase, the soak pro-gramme and for the stain function.Add the detergent for prewash, soak and stain remover beforethe start of the programme.

The detergent compartment for the washing phase.If you use a liquid detergent, put it immediately before you startthe programme.

Liquid additives compartment (fabric conditioner, starch).Put the product in the compartment before you start the pro-gramme.

This is the maximum level for the quantity of liquid additives.

Always obey the instructions that you find on the packaging of the deter-gent products.

SETTING THE PROGRAMME(KNOB 1 )Turn the programme selector dial to therequired programme.The programme dial determines the typeof washing cycle (e.g. water level, drummovement, number of rinses) and thewashing temperature according to thetype of laundry.The pilot light of button 8 starts blinking.The programme dial can be turned eitherclockwise or anticlockwise.

= Reset programme / switching OFFof the machine

If you turn the programme dial toanother programme when the ap-pliance is working, the yellow pilotlight of button 8 blinks 3 times.The display shows the messageErr to indicate a wrong selection.The machine will not perform thenew set programme.

SETTING THE TEMPERATURE(BUTTON 2)

When setting a programme, theappliance automatically proposesthe default temperature providedfor that programme.

Press the button 2 repeatedly to increaseor decrease the temperature, if you wantyour laundry to be washed at a differenttemperature.The cold wash is indicated with - - and thesymbol .

For the maximum and the mini-mum available wash water tem-perature, see Washing pro-grammes.

SETTING THE SPIN SPEED(BUTTON 3)

When setting a programme, theappliance automatically proposesthe maximum spin speed provi-ded for that programme.

Press the button 3 repeatedly to changethe spin speed.RINSE HOLD If setting this option the water of the lastrinse is not emptied out to prevent thefabrics from creasing. At the end of theprogramme, and the symbol appearon the display, the symbol remainslit, the light of button 8 goes off and thedoor is blocked to indicate that the watermust be emptied out.NIGHT CYCLE If setting this option, the appliance doesnot drain the water of the last rinse andthe laundry is not wrinkled. All spinningphases are suppressed so the washingprogramme becomes noiseless and it canbe set in the night or during the cheapestpower rate hours. In some programmesthe rinses are performed with more water.At the end of the programme, and thesymbol appear on the display, thesymbol remains lit, the light of but-ton 8 goes off and the door is blocked toindicate that the water must be emptiedout.To empty out the water, please readchapter At the end of the pro-gramme.

SETTING THE OPTIONS(BUTTON 4)Depending on the programme, differentfunctions can be combined.

Not all the options are compatibleamong themselves. The symbolsof the incompatible options dis-appear.Anyway, if an option, which is notcompatible with the set washingprogramme or any other option, isselected, the Err message is dis-played for few seconds and theyellow pilot of button 8 light startsblinking.

Set the options after you have set the pro-gramme but before pressing the button

8. Press the button 4: all the option sym-bols appear on the display.To scroll all the available options, pressthe button 4. The relative symbol appearson the display and starts blinking.

For the compatibility among theoptions and the washing pro-grammes see chapter WashingProgrammes.

CONFIRM YOUR CHOICE(BUTTON 5)Press the button 5 to activate and confirmyour choice. A black dash appears underthe selected symbol to indicate that thisoption has been set. Press the button 5 todeactivate the option.After setting the options, wait about fewseconds until the display gets back to thedefault status. The symbols of the set op-tions appear on the display.

PREWASH OPTION Set the PREWASH option to prewash yourlaundry at 30C before the main wash.The prewash ends with a short spin in pro-grammes for cotton and synthetic fabrics,whereas in the programmes for delicatefabrics the water is only drained.The symbol appears on the display.The Prewash option is recommended forheavily soiled laundry.

STAIN OPTION Set the STAIN option to treat heavilysoiled or stained laundry with stain remov-er (extended main wash with time opti-mized stain action phase). The symbol appears on the display.This option is not available with a temper-ature lower than 40C.If you wish to perform a programme withthe STAIN option, put the stain removerin the compartment .The PREWASH option and the STAIN op-tion cannot be selected together.

SENSITIVE OPTION Set the SENSITIVE option to reduce thewashing intensity. The symbol appearson the display. The appliance adds onerinse.

The SENSITIVE option cannot be selectedwith the EXTRA RINSE option.The SENSITIVE option is recommendedto wash non fast colored items and for fre-quently washed items.

EXTRA RINSE OPTION This appliance is designed for saving wa-ter. However, for people with a very deli-cate skin (allergic to detergents) it may benecessary to rinse the laundry using an ex-tra quantity of water. The symbol ap-pears on the display.

SETTING THE TIME SAVINGOPTION (BUTTON 6)This option allows you to modify thewashing time, automatically proposed bythe appliance.Press the button 6 once

The symbol appears on the dis-play. The washing duration will be re-duced to wash daily soiled laundry.

Press the button 6 twice

The washing duration will be reducedto wash lightly soiled laundry or itemsthat have been used or worn for ashort time.

The display shows the decreased washingtime.

STARTING THE PROGRAMME(BUTTON 8)Press the button 8 to start the pro-gramme. The red light of the button 8stops blinking.The symbol appears on the displayto indicate that the appliance has startedoperating and the door is locked.To interrupt a programme which is run-ning, press the button 8: the red light ofthe button 8 starts blinking.To restart the programme from the pointat which it was interrupted, press the but-ton 8 again. If you have chosen a delayedstart the machine will begin the count-down.If an incorrect option is selected, the yel-low light of the button 8 blinks 3 timesand the message Err is displayed for afew seconds.

SETTING THE DELAY START (BUTTON 9)Before you start the programme, if youwish to delay the start, press the button 9repeatedly, to set the desired delay.The symbol appears on the display.The wash programme can be delayedfrom 30 min. - 60 min. - 90 min., 2 hoursand then by 1 hour up to a maximum of20 hours.The set delay time value appears on thedisplay for about 3 seconds, then the du-ration of the programme appears again.Set this option after you have set the pro-gramme and before you press the button8.You can modify or cancel the delay timeat any moment, before you press the but-ton 8.The door will be locked throughout thedelay time. If you wish to add laundry inthe appliance during the delay time, pressthe button 8 to set the machine to pause.When the symbol disappears , thedoor can be opened. Add the laundry,close the door and press the button 8again.Setting the delayed start. Set the programme and the required

options. Set the delay start. Press button 8: the appliance starts its

hourly countdown. The programmestarts after the selected delay has ex-pired.

Cancelling the delayed start Press the button 8 to set the appliance

to PAUSE; Press button 9 until the symbol is

displayed; Press the button 8 again to start the

programme.

The set delay can be changed on-ly after you have set the washingprogramme again.

The Delay Start cannot be set with Drainprogramme.

ALTERING AN OPTION OR ARUNNING PROGRAMMEIt is possible to change some options be-fore the programme carries it out. Before

you make any change, you must press thebutton 8 to pause the appliance.Changing a running programme is possi-ble only by resetting it.Turn the programme dial to and thento the new programme position.Press the 8 button again to start the newprogramme. The washing water in the tubwill not emptied out.

INTERRUPTING APROGRAMMEPress the button 8 to interrupt a pro-gramme which is running, the corre-sponding light starts blinking. Press thebutton again to restart the programme.

CANCELLING A PROGRAMME

Turn the selector dial to to cancel aprogramme which is running. Now youcan select a new programme.

OPENING THE DOOR AFTERTHE PROGRAMME HASSTARTEDFirst press the button 8 to set the appli-ance to pause by . If the symbol disappears, the

door can be opened; If the symbol doesnt go off, it

means that the appliance is alreadyheating or that the water level is toohigh. In this case the door cannot beopened;

If you cannot open the door but youneed to open it, you have to switch theappliance off by turning the selector di-al to /Off. After a few minutes thedoor can be opened (pay attention tothe water level and temperature!);

After closing the door, it is necessary toset the programme again and to press thebutton 8.

AT THE END OF THEPROGRAMMEThe appliance stops automatically, thelight of button 8 goes off. A blinking appears on the display and the acoustic

signal sounds for some minutes. The sym-bol disappears.If you have chosen a programme or anoption that ends with water in the tub, fol-low the below instruction to empty thewater out. The drum continues to run atregular intervals until the water draining.To empty the water out Turn the programme selector dial to

/Off. Set the DRAIN or SPIN programme. If needed, press the button 3 to reduce

the spin speed.

Press the button 8. When the programme has finished the

display shows a blinking . The sym-bols disappears. The door canbe opened.

Turn the programme selector dial to /Off to switch the appliance off. Removethe laundry from the drum and carefullycheck that the drum is empty.If you do not intend to carry out anotherwash, close the water tap. Leave the dooropen to prevent the formation of mildewand unpleasant smells.

Stand by : once the programme has fin-ished after a few minutes the energy sav-ing system will be enabled. The bright-

ness of the display is reduced. By pressingany button the appliance will come out ofthe energy saving status.

HELPFUL HINTS AND TIPS

THE LAUNDRY LOAD Divide the laundry in: white, coloured,

synthetics, delicates and wool. Obey the washing instructions that are

on the laundry care labels. Do not wash together white and col-

oured items. Some coloured items can discolour with

the first wash. We recommend that youwash them separately for the first times.

Button up pillowcases, close zippers,hooks and poppers. Tie up belts.

Empty the pockets and unfold theitems.

Turn inside out multilayered fabrics,wool and items with painted illustra-tions.

Remove hard stains. Wash with a special detergent heavy

soil stains. Be careful with the curtains. Remove

the hooks or put the curtains in a wash-ing bag or pillowcase.

Do not wash in the appliance : Laundry without hems or with cuts Underwired bras. Use a washing bag to wash small

items. A very small load can cause balance

problems with the spin phase. If this oc-curs, adjust manually the items in thetub and start the spin phase again.

STUBBORN STAINSFor some stains, water and detergent isnot sufficient.We recommend that you remove thesestains before you put the items in the ap-pliance.Special stain removers are available. Usethe special stain remover that is applica-ble to the type of stain and fabric.

DETERGENTS AND ADDITIVES Only use detergents and additives spe-

cially made for washing machines. Do not mix different types of deter-

gents. To help the environment, do not use

more than the correct quantity of deter-gent.

Obey the instructions that you find onthe on packaging of these products.

Use the correct products for the typeand colour of the fabric, the pro-gramme temperature and the level ofsoil.

If you use liquid detergents, do not setthe prewash phase.

If your appliance has not the detergentdispenser with the flap device, add theliquid detergents with a dosing ball.

WATER HARDNESSIf the water hardness in your area is highor moderate, we recommend that you usea water softener for washing machines. Inareas where the water hardness is soft it isnot necessary to use a water softener.To know the water hardness in your area,contact your local water authority.Obey the instructions that you find on thepackaging of the products.

Equivalent scales measure the water hard-ness: German degrees (dH). French degrees (TH). mmol/l (millimol for each litre - interna-

Clean the drum with special product forstainless steel.

Start a short programme for cotton atthe maximum temperature with a smallquantity of detergent.

DETERGENT DISPENSER

To clean the dispenser:

4. Clean all the parts with water.

5. Clean the dispenser recess with abrush.

6. Put back the dispenser in the recess.

DRAIN PUMPThe pump should be inspected regularlyand particularly if: the appliance does not empty and/or

spin; the appliance makes an unusual noise

during draining due to objects such assafety pins, coins etc. blocking thepump;

a problem with water draining is detec-ted (see chapter Troubleshooting formore details).

WARNING!Before unscrewing the pump cov-er, switch the appliance off andremove the mains plug from thesocket.

Proceed as follows:1. Unplug the appliance.2. If it is necessary, wait until the water

has cooled down.

3. Place a container close to the pumpto collect any spillage.

4. Release the emergency emptyinghose (B), place it in the container andremove its cap cover.

5. When no more water comes out, un-screw the pump cover (A) by turningit anti-clockwise and remove the fil-ter. Use pliers, if necessary.Always keep a rag nearby to dry upany water spillages when removingthe cover. Clean the filter under atap, to remove any traces of fluff.

6. Remove foreign bodies and fluff fromthe filter seat and from the pump im-peller.

7. Check carefully whether the pumpimpeller rotates (it rotates jerkily). If itdoesnt rotate, please contact yourService Centre.

8. Put the cap back on the emergencyemptying hose and place the latterback in its seat.

9. Replace the filter into the pump byinserting it correctly into the specialguides. Screw the pump cover firmlyby turning it clockwise.

WARNING!

When the appliance is in use and depend-ing on the programme selected there canbe hot water in the pump.Never remove the pump cover during awash cycle, always wait until the appliancehas finished the cycle, and is empty.When refitting the pump cover, ensure itis securely re-tightened so as to stopleaks and young children being able to re-move it.

THE INLET HOSE FILTER ANDTHE VALVE FILTERIt could be necessary to clean the filterswhen:

The appliance does not fill with water. The appliance fills with the water for a

long time. The indicator of button 8 flashes and

the display shows the related alarm. Re-fer to 'Troubleshooting'.

WARNING!Disconnect the mains plug fromthe mains socket.

To clean the water inlet filters:

1. Close the water tap.2. Remove the water inlet hose from the

water tap.3. Clean the filter in the inlet hose with a

stiff brush.

4. Remove the inlet hose behind theappliance.

5. Clean the filter in the valve with a stiffbrush or a towel.

6. Install again the inlet hose. Make surethat the couplings are tight to pre-vent leakages.

7. Open the water tap.

EMERGENCY EMPTYING OUTIf the water is not discharged, proceed asfollows to empty out the appliance:1. pull out the plug from the power

socket;2. close the water tap;3. if necessary, wait until the water has

cooled down;4. place a bowl on the floor;5. place the end of the emergency emp-

tying hose into the bowl;6. Remove its cap. The water should

drain by gravity into the bowl. Whenthe bowl is full, put the cap back onthe hose. Empty the bowl;Repeat the procedure until waterstops flowing out;

7. clean the pump if necessary as previ-ously described;

8. replace the emergency emptyinghose in its seat after having pluggedit;

9. screw the pump again.

FROST PRECAUTIONSIf the machine is installed in a place wherethe temperature could drop below 0C,proceed as follows:1. close the water tap;2. unscrew the water inlet hose from the

tap;3. place the end of the emergency emp-

tying hose and that of the inlet hosein a bowl placed on the floor. Let wa-ter drain out;

4. screw the water inlet hose back on;5. put the cap on the emergency empty-

ing hose again;6. reposition the emergency emptying

hose.By doing this, any water remaining in themachine is removed, avoiding ice formingand consequently damage to the appli-ance.When you use the machine again, makesure that the ambient temperature isabove 0C.

TROUBLESHOOTINGCertain problems are due to lack of sim-ple maintenance or oversights, which canbe solved easily without calling out an en-gineer. Before contacting your local Serv-ice Centre, please carry out the checks lis-ted below.During machine operation it is possiblethat the yellow pilot light of button 8blinks, one of the following alarm codesappears on the display and at the sametime some acoustic signals sound every20 seconds to indicate that the machine isnot working:

: problem with the water supply : problem with the water draining : door open : anti-flooding system has activa-

tedOnce the problem has been eliminated,press the button 8 to restart the pro-gramme. If after all checks, the problempersists, contact your local Service Centre.

The appliance fills thenempties immediately:

The end of the drain hose is too low. Refer to relevant paragraph in Water drainage

section in Water drainage chapter.

The applince does notempty and/or does notspin:

The drain hose is squashed or kinked. Check the drain hose connection.The drain filter is clogged. Clean the drain filter.You have set an option or a programme that ends withthe water still in the tub or a that eliminates all thespinning phases. Set the draining or the spinning programme.The laundry is not evenly distributed in the drum. Redistribute the laundry.

There is water on thefloor:

You have used too much detergent or unsuitable de-tergent (creates too much foam). Reduce the detergent quantity or use another one.Check whether there are any leaks from one of the in-let hose fittings. It is not always easy to see this as thewater runs down the hose; check to see if it is damp. Check the water inlet hose connection.The drain or the inlet hose is damaged. Replace it with a new one.The cap on the emergency emptying hose has notbeen replaced or the filter has not been properlyscrewed in after cleaning action. Refit the cap on the emergency emptying hose or

screw the filter fully in.

Unsatisfactory washingresults:

You have used too little detergent or unsuitable de-tergent. Increase the detergent quantity or use another one.Stubborn stains have not been treated prior to wash-ing. Use commercial products to treat the stubborn

stains.The correct temperature was not selected. Check if you have selected the correct temperature.Excessive laundry load. Reduce the laundry load.

The door will not open:

The programme is still running. Wait the end of washing cycle.The door lock has not been released. Wait until the symbol has gone off.There is water in the drum. Set drain or spin programme to empty out the wa-

ter.

The appliance vibratesor is noisy:

You have not removed the transit bolts and packing. Check the correct installation of the appliance.The support feet have not been adjusted. Check the correct levelling of the appliance.The laundry is not evenly distributed in the drum. Redistribute the laundry.Maybe there is very little laundry in the drum. Load more laundry.

Spinning starts late orthe machine does notspin:

The electronic unbalance detection device has cut inbecause the laundry is not evenly distributed in thedrum. The laundry is redistributed by reverse rotationof the drum. This may happen several times beforethe unbalance disappears and normal spinning can re-sume. If, after some minutes, the laundry is still notevenly distributed in the drum, the machine will notspin. The laundry load is perhaps to little, add more

items, redistribute the load manually and then se-lect the spinning programme.

No water is visible inthe drum:

Appliances based on modern technology operate veryeconomically using very little water without affectingperformance.

The display shows thealarm code :

Anti-flooding system has activated. Pull out the plug from the power socket, close the

water tap and contact the Service Force Centre.

UNPACKING

1. Use the gloves. Remove the externalfilm. If necessary, use a cutter.

2. Remove the cardboard top.3. Remove the polystyrene packaging

materials.

4. Remove the internal film.

5. Open the door. Remove the polystyr-ene piece from the door seal and allthe items from the drum.

6. Put one of the polystyrene packagingelements on the floor behind the ap-pliance. Carefully put down the appli-ance with the rear side on it. Makesure not to damage the hoses.

7. Remove the polystyrene protectionfrom the bottom.

8. Pull up the appliance in vertical posi-tion.

9. Remove the power supply cable andthe drain hose from the hose holders.

10. Remove the three bolts. Use the keysupplied with the appliance.

11. Pull out the plastic spacers.

12. Put the plastic caps in the holes. Youcan find these caps in the user man-ual bag.

WARNING!Remove all the packaging and thetransit bolts before you install theappliance.

POSITIONING AND LEVELLING

Install the machine on a flat hard floor. Make sure that air circulation around

the machine is not impeded by carpets,rugs etc.

Carefully level by screwing the adjusta-ble feet in or out.

After having levelled the appliance,tighten the lock nuts.

The appliance must be level and stable.

Never place cardboard, wood orsimilar materials under the ma-chine to compensate for any un-evenness in the floor.

If it is impossible to avoid positioning themachine next to a gas cooker or coalburn-ing stove, an insulating panel coveredwith aluminium foil on the side facing thecooker or stove, must be inserted be-tween the two appliances.

Before placing it on small tiles, apply arubber coating.The water inlet hose and the drain hosemust not be kinked.

CAUTION!The machine must not be installedin rooms where the temperaturecan drop below 0C.

THE INLET HOSE

Connect the hose to the appliance.Turn the inlet hose only left or right.Loose the ring nut to set it in the cor-rect position.

Connect the water inlet hose to thecold water tap with 3/4 thread.

CAUTION!Make sure that there are no leaksfrom the couplings.

Do not use an extension hose ifthe inlet hose is too short. Contactthe service centre for the replace-ment of the inlet hose.

Water-stop device

A

The inlet hose has a water stop device.This device prevents water leaks in thehose because of its natural ageing. Thered sector in the window A shows thisfault .If this occur, close the water tap and con-tact the service centre to replace thehose.

WATER DRAINAGEThere are different procedures to connectthe drain hose:

With the plastic hose guide.

On the edge of a sink. Make sure that the plastic guide cannot

move when the appliance drains. At-tach the guide to the water tap or thewall.

To a stand pipe with vent-hole.Refer to the illustration. Directly into adrain pipe at a height of not less than60 cm and not more than 100 cm. Theend of the drain hose must always beventilated , i.e. the inner diameter ofthe drainpipe must be larger than theexternal diameter of the drain hose.

Without the plastic hose guide.

To a sink spigot.Refer to the illustration. Put the drainhose in the spigot and tighten it with aclip. Make sure that the drain hosemakes a loop to prevent that remainingparticles go in the appliance from thesink.

Directly to a built-in drain pipe in theroom wall and tighten it with a clip.

You can extend the drain hose tomaximum 400 cm. Contact theservice centre for the other drainhose and the extension.

DoorThe dimensions of the door should be: width 595-598 mm thickness 16-22 mm the height X depends on the height

of the adjacent furniture's base (Fig.3).

HingesTo mount the hinges it is necessary todrill two holes (dia. 35 mm, depth12.5-14 mm depending on the depth ofdoor furniture) on the inner side of thedoor. The distance between the holeshobs fixing centres must be 416 mm.The distance from upper edge of thedoor to the centre of the hole dependson the adjacent furniture's dimensions.The hinges will be fixed to the door bymeans of screws for wood 1 and 2 (Fig.4) supplied with the appliance.

Mounting the doorFix the hinges to the appliance bymeans of the M5x15 screws . The hing-es can be adjusted to compensate forpossible uneven thickness of the door.To align the door perfectly it is necessa-ry to loosen the screw , adjust the doorand tighten the screw A again (Fig. 5).

Counter-magnetThe appliance is prearranged for amagnetic closure of the door. To ena-ble a correct operation of this device, itis necessary to screw the counter-mag-net A (steel disk + rubber ring) into theinner side of the door.Its position must correspond to themagnet B on the appliance (Fig. 6).

No desconecte el aparato tirando delcable de conexin a la red. Tire siem-pre del enchufe.

deschelo.3. Deseche el cierre de la puerta. De es-

Tras seleccionar un programa, la duracin del mismo se muestra enhoras y minutos (por ejemplo ).

Una vez que se ha iniciado el programa, el tiempo restante se ac-tualiza cada minuto.

Inicio diferido Cuando se ajusta un inicio diferido, la pantalla muestra el tiempo

de retardo (20 horas mx.) durante unos 3 segundos (por ejemplo, ), y a continuacin vuelve a mostrar la duracin del programa.

El valor del inicio diferido se reduce una unidad cada hora y, a con-tinuacin, cuando slo queda una hora para que termine el progra-ma, disminuye cada minuto.

Seleccin de opcin incorrecta En caso de que se realice un ajuste incorrecto, la pantalla muestra

el mensaje Err y la luz amarilla del botn 8 empieza a parpadear. Cdigos de alarma

PRIMER USO1. Para activar el sistema de desage,

vierta 2 litros de agua en el comparti-mento de lavado principal del dosifi-cador de detergente.

2. Coloque una pequea cantidad en elcompartimento de lavado principal

del dosificador. Ajuste e inicie un pro-grama para algodn a la temperaturams alta sin colada. De esta forma seelimina toda la posible suciedad deltambor y de la cuba.

USO DIARIO1. Abra la puerta del aparato.2. Introduzca las prendas en el tambor,

una por una. Sacuda las prendas an-tes de colocarlas en el aparato. Ase-

El compartimento de detergente para la fase de lavado.Si utiliza detergente lquido, introdzcalo inmediatamente antesde iniciar el programa.

Compartimento para aditivos lquidos (suavizante, almidn).Ponga el producto en el compartimento antes de iniciar el pro-grama.

Es el nivel mximo para la cantidad de aditivos lquidos.

Cumpla siempre las instrucciones que se encuentran en el envase de losproductos de detergente.

SELECCIN DEL PROGRAMA(SELECTOR 1)Gire el selector de programas hasta dejar-lo en el programa deseado.El selector de programas determina el ti-po de ciclo de lavado (por ejemplo, nivelde agua, movimiento del tambor, nmerode aclarados) y la temperatura de lavadoen funcin del tipo de colada.El piloto del botn 8 empezar a parpa-dear.El selector de programas puede girarsehacia la derecha y hacia la izquierda.

Si gira el selector hasta otro pro-grama mientras el aparato estfuncionando, el piloto amarillo dela tecla 8 parpadear 3 veces. Lapantalla muestra el mensaje Errpara indicar una seleccin inco-rrecta. La mquina no pondr enmarcha el nuevo programa selec-cionado.

AJUSTE DE TEMPERATURA(TECLA 2)

Cuando se selecciona un progra-ma, el aparato indica de forma au-tomtica la temperatura predeter-minada para ese programa.

Pulse la tecla 2 varias veces para aumen-tar o reducir la temperatura si desea lavarla ropa a una temperatura diferente a lapropuesta.El lavado en fro se indica con - - y el sm-bolo .

AJUSTE DE LA VELOCIDAD DECENTRIFUGADO (TECLA 3)

Cuando selecciona un programa,el aparato propone de forma au-tomtica la velocidad de centrifu-gado mxima para dicho progra-ma.

Pulse la tecla 3 repetidamente para cam-biar la velocidad de centrifugado.AGUA EN LA CUBA Al seleccionar esta opcin, el agua del l-timo aclarado no se descarga para impe-dir que los tejidos se arruguen. Cuando elprograma termina, en la pantalla aparece

y el smbolo , el smbolo per-manece encendido, el piloto del botn 8se apaga y la puerta se bloquea para indi-car que es preciso descargar el agua.CICLO NOCTURNO Al seleccionar esta opcin, el aparato nodescarga el agua del ltimo aclarado paraimpedir que la colada se arrugue. Todaslas fases de centrifugado se eliminan paraque el programa de lavado no haga rui-do, de modo que se puede programarpor la noche o durante las horas en lasque la tarifa elctrica es ms econmica.En algunos programas se utiliza ms aguapara los aclarados.Cuando el programa termina, en la panta-lla aparece y el smbolo , el smbolo

permanece encendido, el pilotodel botn 8 se apaga y la puerta se blo-quea para indicar que es preciso descar-gar el agua.Para descargar el agua, consulte elapartado Al final del programa.

AJUSTE DE LAS OPCIONES(TECLA 4)Existe la posibilidad de combinar distintasfunciones segn el programa.

No todas las opciones son com-patibles entre s. Los smbolos delas opciones no compatibles de-saparecen.Si se selecciona una opcin nocompatible con el programa delavado configurado o cualquierotra opcin, aparece el mensajeErr durante unos segundos y elpiloto amarillo del botn 8 co-mienza a parpadear.

Ajuste las opciones despus de elegir elprograma pero antes de pulsar el botn8. Pulse la tecla 4: todos los smbolos delas opciones desaparecen del indicadorPara desplazarse por las opciones dispo-nibles, pulse el botn 4. El smbolo co-rrespondiente aparece en la pantalla y co-mienza a parpadear.

Consulte la compatibilidad de losprogramas de lavado con las op-ciones en el captulo Programasde lavado.

CONFIRMAR SU SELECCIN(TECLA 5)Pulse la tecla 5 para activar y confirmar sueleccin. Aparece un guin negro debajodel smbolo seleccionado para indicarque esta opcin se ha establecido. Pulseel botn 5 para desactivar la opcin.Despus de ajustar las opciones, espereunos segundos hasta que la pantalla vuel-va a mostrar el estado predeterminado.Los smbolos de las opciones selecciona-das aparecen en la pantalla.

OPCIN PRELAVADO Seleccione la opcin PRELAVADO si de-sea aplicar un ciclo de prelavado a 30Cantes del lavado principal. El prelavado fi-naliza con un breve centrifugado en pro-gramas para algodn y tejidos sintticos,mientras que en el programa para tejidosdelicados el agua slo se descarga.El smbolo aparece en la pantalla.La opcin de Prelavado se recomiendapara prendas muy sucias.

OPCIN MANCHAS Seleccione la opcin MANCHAS si deseaaplicar quitamanchas a ropa muy sucia ocon manchas (lavado principal extendidocon fase para manchas y tiempo optimiza-do). El smbolo aparece en la pantalla.Esta opcin no est disponible con tem-peraturas inferiores a 40 CSi desea ejecutar un programa con la op-cin MANCHAS, vierta el quitamanchasen el compartimento .Las opciones PRELAVADO y MANCHASno se pueden seleccionar a la vez.

OPCIN SENSIBLE Ajuste la opcin SENSIBLE para reducir laintensidad de lavado. El smbolo apa-rece en la pantalla. El aparato aade unaclarado.Esta opcin no se puede seleccionar conla opcin ACLARADO EXTRA.La opcin SENSIBLE se recomienda paracolores no slidos y prendas que se de-ben lavar con frecuencia.

OPCIN ACLARADO EXTRA

El aparato se ha diseado para consumirpoca energa. No obstante, para personascon piel muy delicada (alrgicas a los de-tergentes) puede resultar necesario acla-rar las prendas con una cantidad adicionalde agua. El smbolo aparece en lapantalla.

OPCIN AHORRO DE TIEMPO(BOTN 6)Esta opcin le permite modificar el tiem-po de lavado propuesto de forma auto-mtica por la lavadoraPulse el botn 6 una vez

AJUSTE DEL INICIO DIFERIDO (TECLA 9)

Si desea retrasar el inicio, antes de ini-ciar el programa, pulse la tecla 9 variasveces para seleccionar el retardo que de-see.El smbolo aparece en la pantalla. Pue-de retrasar el programa de lavado 30 - 60- 90 minutos, 2 horas y, a continuacin, ensegmentos de 1 hora hasta un mximo de20 horas.El valor del intervalo de retraso seleccio-nado se muestra en la pantalla duranteunos 3 segundos; a continuacin, se vi-sualiza de nuevo la duracin del progra-ma.Ajuste esta opcin despus de elegir elprograma y antes de pulsar la tecla 8.Es posible modificar o cancelar el iniciodiferido en cualquier momento antes depulsar el botn 8.La puerta permanecer bloqueada eltiempo que dure el inicio diferido. cuenta atrs horaria. El programa se ini-cia una vez finalizado el intervalo de ini-cio diferido seleccionado.

Cancelacin del inicio diferido Pulse la tecla 8 para poner el aparato

en PAUSA; Pulse la tecla 9 hasta que aparezca el

smbolo . Vuelva a pulsar la tecla 8 para iniciar el

programa.

El Inicio Diferido no puede seleccionarsecon el programa de descarga.

CAMBIO DE UNA OPCIN ODE UN PROGRAMA ENMARCHAEs posible cambiar cualquier opcin antesde que el programa la ejecute. Antes derealizar cambios, es necesario pulsar latecla 8 para poner el aparato en pausa.El cambio de un programa en marcha s-lo puede realizarse reajustndolo.Gire el selector de programas hasta y,seguidamente, hasta la posicin del nue-vo programa.Vuelva a pulsar la tecla 8 para iniciar elnuevo programa. El agua de lavado de lacuba no se vaciar.

INTERRUPCIN DE UNPROGRAMAPulse la tecla 8 para interrumpir el progra-ma en marcha; el piloto correspondienteempieza a parpadear. Vuelva a presionarel botn para reiniciar el programa.

CANCELACIN DE UNPROGRAMA

Gire el selector de programas hasta para cancelar un programa una vez queest en marcha. Despus puede seleccio-nar otro programa.

APERTURA DE LA PUERTAUNA VEZ INICIADO ELPROGRAMAPulse primero la tecla 8 para poner elaparato en pausa. Si el smbolo desaparece, la

puerta puede abrirse;

Si el smbolo no se apaga, quieredecir que el aparato ya est en fase decalentamiento o que el nivel de agua esdemasiado alto. En este caso no sepuede abrir la puerta

Si no puede abrir la puerta pero necesi-ta hacerlo, apague el aparato girandoel selector de programas hasta la posi-cin /Off. La puerta podr abrirsepasados unos minutos (preste aten-cin al nivel del agua y a la tempera-tura).

Tras cerrar la puerta, vuelva a seleccionarel programa y pulse el botn 8.

AL FINALIZAR EL PROGRAMAEl aparato se detiene automticamente,el piloto del botn 8 se apaga. Un in-termitente aparece en la pantalla y la se-al acstica suena durante unos minutos.El smbolo desaparece.Si ha seleccionado un programa o unaopcin que finaliza con agua en la cuba,siga las instrucciones que se indican acontinuacin para vaciar el agua. El tam-bor sigue funcionando a intervalos regula-res hasta que se drena el agua.Para descargar el agua Gire el selector de programas a /

Off. Seleccione el programa DESCARGA o

CENTRIFUGADO. si fuera necesario, pulse el botn 3 pa-

ra reducir la velocidad de centrifugado. Pulse la tecla 8. Cuando el programa finaliza, en la pan-

talla aparece un intermitente. Lossmbolos desaparecen. Se pue-de abrir la puerta.

Gire el selector de programas hasta /Off para apagar el aparato. Retire lasprendas del tambor y cercirese de queel tambor queda vaco.Si no va a realizar otro lavado, cierre la to-ma del agua. Deje la puerta abierta paraevitar la aparicin de moho y olores desa-gradables.

Espera: tras terminarse el programa ytrascurridos algunos minutos, se habilitael sistema de ahorro energtico. El brillo

de la pantalla disminuye. Presione cual-quier tecla para desactivar el sistema deahorro de energa del aparato.

CONSEJOS TILES

CARGAR LA COLADA Divida la colada en: ropa blanca, ropa

de color, ropa sinttica, prendas delica-das y prendas de lana.

Siga las instrucciones de lavado que seencuentran en las etiquetas de lasprendas.

No lave juntas las prendas blancas y decolor.

Algunas prendas de color pueden des-teir en el primer lavado. Se recomien-da lavarlas por separado la primera vez.

Abotone las fundas de almohadas ycierre las cremalleras, los ganchos y losbroches. Ate las correas.

Vace los bolsillos y despliegue lasprendas.

D la vuelta a las prendas de varias ca-pas, de lana y con motivos pintados.

Retire las manchas difciles. Lave con detergente especial las man-

chas difciles. Tenga cuidado con las cortinas. Quite

los ganchos o coloque las cortinas enuna bolsa para lavadora o funda de al-mohada.

No lave en el aparato: Prendas sin dobladillos o desgarra-

das Sujetadores con aros. Use una bolsa para lavadora para la-

var las prendas pequeas. Una carga muy pequea puede provo-

car problemas de desequilibrio en la fa-se de centrifugado. Si esto ocurre, ajus-te manualmente las prendas en la cubae inicie de nuevo la fase de centrifuga-do.

MANCHAS DIFCILESPara algunas manchas, el agua y el deter-gente no son suficientes.Se recomienda eliminar estas manchasantes de colocar las prendas en el apara-to.

Existen quitamanchas especiales. Utiliceel quitamanchas especial adecuado al ti-po de mancha y tejido.

DETERGENTES Y ADITIVOS Utilice solo detergentes y aditivos es-

pecialmente fabricados para lavadoras. No mezcle diferentes tipos de deter-

gentes. Para respetar el medio ambiente, no

ponga ms detergente del necesario. Siga siempre las instrucciones que se

encuentran en el envase de estos pro-ductos.

Use los productos adecuados para el ti-po y color del tejido, la temperatura delprograma y el grado de suciedad.

Si utiliza detergente lquido, no ajustela fase de prelavado.

Si el aparato no tiene el dosificador dedetergente con dispositivo de com-puerta, aada los detergentes lquidoscon una bola dosificadora.

DUREZA AGUASi la dureza del agua de su zona es alta omoderada, se recomienda usar un descal-cificador de agua para lavadoras. En laszonas en las que la dureza del agua seabaja, no es necesario utilizar un descalcifi-cador.Pngase en comunicacin con las autori-dades correspondientes para conocer ladureza del agua de su zona.Siga siempre las instrucciones que se en-cuentran en el envase de los productos.Medida de la dureza del agua en escalasequivalentes: Grados alemanes (dH). Grados franceses (TH). mmol/l (milimol por litro, unidad inter-

nacional de la dureza del agua). Grados Clarke.

Desconecte el aparato de la fuente de ali-mentacin antes de limpiarlo.

DESCALCIFICACINEl agua corriente que utilizamos suelecontener cal. Si es necesario, use un des-calcificador de agua para eliminar la cal.Use un producto especial para lavadoras.Siga siempre las instrucciones que se en-cuentran en el envase del fabricante.

Hgalo de forma separada del lavado dela colada.

LIMPIEZA DEL EXTERIORLimpie el aparato solo con agua templaday jabn. Seque completamente todas lassuperficies.

PRECAUCINNo utilice alcohol, disolventes niotros productos qumicos.

JUNTA DE ESTANQUEIDAD DE LA PUERTA

Examine peridicamente la junta y extrai-ga todos los objetos de la pieza interior.

TAMBORExamine peridicamente el tambor paraevitar la formacin de cal y partculas dexido.Utilice nicamente productos especialespara eliminar la partculas de xido deltambor.

Proceda de la siguiente manera: Limpie el tambor con un producto es-

pecial para acero inoxidable. Inicie un programa corto para algodn

a la temperatura mxima con una pe-quea cantidad de detergente.

DOSIFICADOR DE DETERGENTE

Para limpiar el dosificador:

1. Presione la palanca.2. Tire del dosificador hacia fuera.

3. Retire la parte superior del comparti-mento de aditivo lquido.

4. Limpie todas las piezas con agua.

5. Limpie el hueco del dosificador conun cepillo.

6. Vuelva a colocar el dosificador en elhueco.

BOMBA DE DESAGEEl filtro debe inspeccionarse con regulari-dad, especialmente en caso de que: el aparato no desage o no centrifu-

gue; el aparato presente un ruido extrao

durante la descarga porque haya obje-tos, como imperdibles, monedas, etc.,que obstruyan el filtro;

se detecte un problema con el desagedel agua (consulte el captulo Solucinde problemas para obtener ms infor-macin).

ADVERTENCIAAntes de desatornillar la tapa dela bomba, apague el aparato ydesenchfelo de la toma de co-rriente.

Proceda de la siguiente manera:1. Desconecte el enchufe de la toma de

corriente.2. Si es necesario, espere hasta que el

agua se enfre.

3. Coloque un recipiente cerca de lapuerta del filtro para recoger el lqui-do que pueda derramarse.

4. Saque la manguera de descarga deemergencia (B), colquela en el reci-piente y quite el tapn.

5. Cuando deje de salir agua, desenros-que la tapa del filtro (A) girndola ha-cia la izquierda y retire el filtro. Utilicealicates si fuera necesario.Tenga siempre a mano un trapo parasecar el agua que se derrame al ex-traer la tapa. Limpie el filtro bajo elgrifo para eliminar los restos de pelu-sas.

6. Retire los cuerpos extraos y limpielas pelusas del filtro y del rotor.

7. Asegrese de que el rotor del filtrogira (gira con sacudidas). Si no gira,pngase en contacto con el serviciotcnico.

8. Tapone de nuevo la manguera dedesage de emergencia y coloque lamanguera en su sitio.

9. Vuelva a colocar el filtro en la bombainsertndolo correctamente en lasguas especiales. Enrosque la tapa dela bomba firmemente girndola haciala derecha.

ADVERTENCIA

Cuando la lavadora est en marcha, de-pendiendo del programa seleccionado,puede haber agua caliente en el filtro.Nunca extraiga la tapa del filtro duranteun ciclo de lavado; espere siempre a quela lavadora haya terminado el ciclo y estvaca. Al volver a colocar la tapa del filtro,asegrese de apretarla firmemente paraimpedir que se produzcan fugas y que losnios puedan sacarla.

EL FILTRO DEL TUBO DEENTRADA Y EL FILTRO DE LAVLVULAPodra ser necesario limpiar los filtroscuando:

El aparato no carga agua. El aparato llena con agua durante mu-

cho tiempo. El indicador de la tecla 8 parpadea y

la pantalla muestra la alarma corres-pondiente. Consulte "Solucin de pro-blemas".

ADVERTENCIADesenchufe el aparato de la tomade red.

Limpieza de los filtros de entrada de agua:

1. Cierre la toma de agua.2. Retire las tomas de entrada de agua

de los grifos.3. Limpie el filtro del tubo de entrada

con un cepillo rgido.

4. Retire el tubo de entrada situado de-trs del aparato.

5. Limpie el filtro de la vlvula con uncepillo rgido o una toalla.

6. Vuelva a colocar el tubo de entrada.Cercirese de que las conexiones es-tn bien apretadas para evitar fugas.

7. Abra el grifo.

DESCARGA DE EMERGENCIASi la lavadora no descarga, proceda de lasiguiente manera para vaciarla:1. desconecte el enchufe de la toma de

corriente;2. cierre la toma de agua;3. si es necesario, espere a que el agua

se enfre;4. coloque un recipiente en el suelo;5. coloque el extremo de la manguera

de vaciado de emergencia en el reci-piente;

6. Quite el tapn de la manguera. Elagua debera verterse al recipientep
