Shops, stores, shopping centres, hotel halls as well as industrial buildings are the typical examples where the continuous opening of the doors causes an exchange between the inside and outside air, thus originating sudden temperature changes.

Consequently it is evident the need to keep the two environments separated without renouncing however to a clear entrance inviting to pop in.

Fläkt Woods Air Curtains are the ideal solution for this: in winter warmth is retained inside and so is for the air conditioning in summer while rejecting dust, smoke, insects and bad smell from the outside.

Air Curtains are also the ideal complement for the environmental comfort and for a responsible energy use. In fact Fläkt Woods Air Curtains reduce the thermal energy waste, thus preventing unforeseeable heat exchange between the internal habitat and the outside. And indeed, the investment involved can be easily recovered in consideration of the remarkable operating cost saving related to air conditioning and heating plants.

The invisible door

The wide range of Fläkt Woods Air Curtains – Basic & Superior (the latter with better performances) can easily be adapted to any habitat. The Design line with its rounded shape and elegant style is particularly suitable for those habitats demanding aesthetic requirements. For industrial applications, however, where safety and the moving speed of people and goods is a vital factor, the Industrial line represents the ideal solution to increase logistic efficiency.

For utmost energetic efficiency, a careful analysis is to be carried out while selecting and installing the proper air curtain. To this regard, the following is to be paid attention to:

- the entire span width/height shall have to be covered

- the air flow shall have be to be properly calculated according to the height span

- it shall have to be considered the span resistance due to wind, temperature and the difference gap between inside and outside as well as the transit frequency

- the air curtain shall have to be installed with most of the air flow oriented inwards

- a proper access for maintenance shall also have to be considered

Finally to consider is the possibility to easily control the desired air temperature, speed and direction. Fläkt Woods Air Curtains can be controlled under a number of operating modalities according to the building characteristics.

Air Curtains AC-LINEA RANGE

AC-Linea air curtains are available for horizontal mounting above openings. Mounting heights range from 2.5 to 5 metres. The air curtain is suitable for all commercial applications: shops, offi ces, shopping centres and hotels. AC-Linea range includes fi ve types of air curtains (S - M - G - B - BB) available in lengths of 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 and 3 metres (the last length is available as standard for the types B and BB and on demand for other types). The range includes electric and hot wa-ter (80/60 °C and 60/40 °C) heating and ambient models. Models (AC-L...W.LW) with special hot water coils for low temperature climates are also available.Casing made of hot zinc-plated and powder coated steel panels (white colour RAL 9016) containing powerful centrifugal fans. Control systems (included): R510 control panel for ambient and hot water hea-ting models and R310 for electric heating models. With the R510 control panel the fan speed is adjusted in fi ve steps. The R310 controls the fan speed and the heating in three steps respectively. Electrical Plug&Play connections are easily accessible to ensure a fast and easy installation of the system.AC-Linea range requires very little maintenance: due to a micro-perforated metal grille, the dust, fi ltered and deposited on the front, can be removed with a simple cloth.Motor protection class: IP20 for B-BB models and IP44 for S-M-G models.Electrical supply: 230V/1ph/50Hz – 400V/3ph/50Hz.

Air Curtains AC-COMFORT RANGE

AC-Comfort air curtains are available for horizontal mounting above openings. Mounting heights from 2.5 to 5 metres. The air curtain is suitable for several applications where high performances and good design are required: shops, offi ces, shopping centers and hotels. AC-Comfort range includes fi ve types of air curtains (S - M - G - B - BB) available in lengths of 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 and 3 metres (the last length is available as standard for the types B and BB and on demand for other types). The range includes electric and hot water (80/60 °C and 60/40 °C) heating and ambient models. Models (AC-C...W.LW) with special hot water coils for low temperature climates are also available.Casing made of hot zinc-plated and powder coated steel panels (white colour RAL 9016) containing powerful centrifugal fans. Control systems (included): R510 control panel for ambient and hot water hea-ting models and R310 for electric heating models. With the R510 control panel the fan speed is is adjusted in fi ve steps. The R310 controls the fan speed and the heating in three steps respectively. Electrical Plug&Play connections are ea-sily accessible to ensure a fast and easy installation of the system. AC-Comfort range provides the highest user comfort by ensuring maintenance free opera-tion. Due to a special inlet grille the air curtain does not need fi lter cleaning. Motor protection class: IP20 for B-BB models and IP44 for S-M-G models.Electrical supply: 230V/1ph/50Hz – 400V/3ph/50Hz.

Air Curtains AC-COMFORT FLAT RANGE

AC-Comfort Flat range is designed for recessed installation and is characterized by a very thin depth (only 220 mm). Mounting heights range from 2.5 to 3.5 me-ters. The air curtains is suitable for applications in shops, offi ces, shopping cen-tres and hotels. AC-Comfort range includes three types of air curtains (S - M - G) available in lengths of 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 and 3 metres. The range includes electric and hot water (80/60 °C and 60/40 °C) heating and ambient models. Models (AC-F...W.LW) with special hot water coils for low temperature climates are also available.Casing made of hot zinc-plated and powder coated steel panels (white colour RAL 9016) containing powerful centrifugal fans. Control systems (included): R510 control panel for ambient and hot water hea-ting models and R310 for electric heating models. With the R510 control panel the fan speed is selected in fi ve steps. The R310 controls the fan speed and the heating in three steps respectively. Electrical Plug&Play connections are easily accessible to ensure a fast and easy installation of the system. AC-Comfort Flat air curtains are also easily accessible for maintenance. Motor protection class: IP44.Electrical supply: 230V/1ph/50Hz – 400V/3ph/50Hz.

Air Curtains AC-ELITE OVAL RANGE

AC-Elite Oval air curtains are available for horizontal mounting above openings. Mounting heights range from 2.5 to 3.5 metres. The air curtain is suitable for se-veral applications with high aesthetic requirements: fashion shops, banks, hotels etc. AC-Elite Oval range includes three types of air curtains (S - M - G) available in lengths of 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 and 3 mt. The range includes electric and hot water heating and ambient models. Casing made of hot zinc-plated and powder coated steel panels containing powerful centrifugal fans. Control systems (included): R510 control panel for ambient and hot water heating models and R310 for elec-tric heating models. With the R510 control panel the fan speed is selected in fi ve steps. The R310 controls the fan speed and the heating in three steps respecti-vely. Electrical Plug&Play connections are easily accessible to ensure a fast and easy installation of the system. Air Curtains AC INDUSTRIAL RANGE

AC-Industrial air curtain is suitable for horizontal or vertical installation for door heights up to 6 metres. The air curtain is suitable for big openings like factories, hangars, big warehouses and similar. AC-Industrial range includes electric and hot water heating and ambient models available in lengths of 2, 2.5 and 3 metres. Corrosion proof casing made of hot zinc plated steel panels with intake grille in perforated sheet steel, painted with two-pack enamel. White colour (RAL 9016). Powerful centrifugal fans provide effective operation. The upper part of the ca-sing is equipped with holes for hanging on the ceiling with internal thread M10 or M12. Hot water connections are located on the top left. Wall mounting brackets included.Motor protection class: IP20. Electrical supply: 400V/3ph/50Hz.

Air Curtains AC-DOUBLEJET RANGE

AC-Doublejet air curtain is suitable for horizontal mounting above big openings like warehouses, small factories, garage or big department stores. Visible or recessed installation. Mounting heights up to 4.5 metres. Lenghts of 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 and 3 metres. Main features are: highest level of energy saving; double throw for minimized energy losses. The front air stream protects the inner (heated/cooled) airfl ow from outside effects; the inner heated air stream provides a comfortable indoor climate at the entrance lobby. AC-Doublejet consists of two separated air curtains in one casing with an integrated mixing chamber and an adjustable damper. Casing made of hot zinc-plated and powder coated steel panels (white colour RAL 9016) containing powerful cen-trifugal fans. The optimal effect is guaranteed if the front and inner airfl ow operate independently.Motor protection class: IP20 for B-BB models and IP44 for M-G models.Electrical supply: 230V/1ph/50Hz.

Air Curtains AC-AXIPLUS RANGE

AC-Axiplus air curtain is suitable for horizontal or vertical installation for door heights up to 5 metres. The air curtain is suitable for big openings like factories, hangars, big warehouses and similar. AC-Axiplus range includes ambient, elec-tric and hot water (80/60°C and 60/40°C) heating models available in lengths of 1.2-1.8-2.4-3 metres. Self supporting construction made of steel sheet, powder coated, available in different colours of RAL chart. Axial fans with external rotor motors. Fixing points for hanging installation or fl oor bracket for vertical instal-lation are integrated in the casing by internal thread M10. The fans and their electrical connections are accessible from outside; heating coils are accessible by removing the outlet module.Motor protection class: IP44. Electrical supply: 230V/1ph/50Hz - 400V/3ph/50Hz.
