Prescription Assistance: We provide assistance to our patients in obtaining medications from prescription

drug assistance programs run by various pharmaceutical companies.

Nursing/Social Work: Nurses offer blood pressure and diabetic sugar testing, education, and foot care. Social

workers provide psychosocial support and counseling, and referral to various community services. We also

assist with obtaining needed eye care, emergency dental care, and HIV/AIDS testing and treatment.

Women’s Health: The Women’s Health Clinic offers primary care, pharmacy, psychiatric treatment,

emergency dental care, massage therapy, acupuncture, and HIV testing and counseling. Further, the Women’s

Health Program provides women’s health screenings and referrals for outpatient medical services such as

mammography and gynecological care.

The Way Free Clinic

Primary Care Clinic: Monday – Thursday by appointment, or first and third Saturday of every month on a first

come first served basis. Sign-in from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

OB/GYN Clinic: Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. by appointment only.

Description: The clinic offers primary care, obstetrics, vision screening, women and pediatric services,

and health education.

Services Offered: Primary care services include: lab services, diagnostic testing, health education

and smoking cessation classes and vision screening. The objective of the primary care clinic is to assist our

patients in managing their chronic illnesses: hypertension, diabetes and high cholesterol. We also see patients

with acute illnesses: colds, flu and strep. The primary care clinic does not provide physicals for work or

disability claims.

The obstetrical clinic serves pregnant women from their 10th week of pregnancy through delivery and their

two post-partum follow up appointments. The clinic offers comprehensive care for our expectant patients,

including labs and sonograms.

Gynecological care and wellness checks are available for our patients by appointment. The wellness check

includes breast and pelvic exams, Pap Smears, mammograms and colposcopies when necessary.

Alachua County We Care Physician Referral Network

Location/Hours: 235 SW 2nd Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32601

Description: Eligibility Requirements include-

Alachua County residency

No access to insurance

Income at or below 100% of Federal poverty guidelines

Certification for food stamps if unemployed After the prospective patient’s eligibility is determined by We Care Network personnel, the patient is certified

& referred to the next available provider in the component specified. We Care patients receive timely &

appropriate medical and/or dental care in the same manner & setting as paying or sponsored patients.

Services Offered:

Primary Care Component: The PCC is an entry point for poverty level, unsponsored potential patients. The

PCC has approximately 75 primary care physicians who provide volunteer medical care.

Specialty Care Component: The SCC provides access to specialty medical services such as general surgery,

gynecology, and ophthalmology as well as in- and out- patient hospital-based services to poverty level

unsponsored patients at the request of a network physician.

Oral Health Component: The PDC provides limited comprehensive dental care including cleanings, fillings &

extractions.

Volunteer Mental Health Care Provider Component: The VMHCPC provides time limited mental health

services to patients experiencing crises, depression, trauma etc., at the request of a network physician.
