Athena Update: What’s been done

Registration:

• More than 35,000 students registered for fall 2014 classes in the new system.

• Approximately 5,200 first-year students registered during summer orientation.

• Continuing to load academic records for former students as required to support UGA processes.

Student Accounts/Financial Aid:

• Fee and bill payments launched in July.

• Commitment deposit payments and orientation charges in the new system successfully processed.

• Loan submissions complete for students following final fee payment deadlines.

Strategic Reporting Team:

• Registrar’s Office and EITS worked together to create the Registered Student report.

• Staff across campus who interact most frequently with Registrar’s Office for reports can request access to the data to generate their own reports.

Strategic Reporting Team:

• First group of 40 users trained in September for report writing. Organized by the Registrar’s Office and EITS.

• Progress:

o 112 datablocks produced

o 209 customized reports developed

o 549 active Argos users

Team effort in data reporting:

• Members of all functional areas worked together to compile fall semester enrolled student data for submission to the BOR in October.

Athena update: What’s next?

• Admissions now in second year of Banner, accepting first-year applications.

• Looking at incorporating First-Year Orientation into Banner for next summer.

• Working on graduation for fall semester.

• Continuing to load historical data records.

• Tweaking areas across the system for improved functionality.

Training for Staff• UGA staff training for reporting continues

on a targeted basis as we identify needs through normal business processes.
