Opening Prayer (In Unison)Almighty God, today I confess and

believe that you are good. You have changed my mourning into dancing. You have given me a reason to laugh in life, no matter what I go through. I believe

and confess that by your grace, everything will be all right. You are my

strength and encouragement and because of you, every limitation I have

known will now

become the source of my breakthrough. We confess our faith. We believe that

you sent Jesus on our behalf. We believe that he died on the Cross for us. Fill our

heart with your presence and your power. Make us your representatives in the world. In the amazing name of Jesus

Christ, we pray. Amen.

Unison Scripture Reading: Acts 2:41-47 (NIV)

41Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were

added to their number that day. 42They devoted themselves to the apostles’

teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

43Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. 44All the believers were together and had everything in common.

45Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had

need. 46Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke

bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47praising

God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being

saved.

God, we love you and the genuine expression of love is giving. You showed your love for us first by giving us your Son. We demonstrate our love for you by giving now a portion of what you have given to us. We give freely. We give cheerfully. We will not rob you. Instead, we will worship you by giving from our heart.

You are our #1 priority. We will not treat banks or bills better than we treat you because you deserve all

the glory, the honor and the praise. We refuse to live under a curse. Therefore, in obedience to your

Word, we bring our tithe and our offering to you today.

PUT your promise into action! Open the windows of heaven and provide what we need for our desires and our destiny! POUR into our lives the phenomenal and spectacular by releasing a blessing that is beyond our wildest dreams! PROTECT everything that we currently have and do not permit the enemy to abort anything that you are trying to give us for our future.

The tithe is what we owe, the offering is seed we sow. We sow now with the expectation of jobs

and better jobs, of businesses and greater businesses, of raises and bonuses, of houses and land, of

freedom from debt and supernatural increase. Bless us

indeed and enlarge our territory as we live for your glory. Alleluia! In

the mighty, matchless and miraculous name of Jesus, we

confess. Amen!

 UPCOMING EVENTS

FORCHURCH 100th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

 The Thirty-Fourth Street Church of God will be celebrating their 100th year of worshipping November 14 – 16, 2014.

This year’s theme for our anniversary celebration is: “Celebrating Our Legacy, Reaching The Next Generation”.

The Anniversary Committee are making it a special occasion with several events planned.

 

The main events are: 

Friday: November 14th Anniversary Banquet

Saturday: November 15th Anniversary Picnic

Sunday: November 16t Morning Worship for this special occasion

which will be marked by a special speaker

 We encourage you to participate in the events listed above. We hope that our church family here will be

joined by many who will be returning home. 

The Anniversary Committee is requesting each member to contribute $100 for our “Church 100th Anniversary Celebration”. Special envelopes will be provide for

your contribution on Sunday, August 25, 2014. 

We are looking forward to this special time in November! Keep us in your heart, your prayers and

your plans.

34th Street Church mission can be summed up in this phrase: “empower you to grow into all God created you to be.” Followers of Jesus

are lifelong learners and the spiritual journey is not meant to be alone. At 34th

Street Church, we believe that life is a team sport – best done together and as our church

grows larger, we must also grow smaller. Small groups are “learning communities” that

serve as a great way to grow in your relationship with God and make a difference in the community. We encourage everyone to be involved in group life because it’s there

where you will meet new people while growing in your faith.
