Currently, we have 82 students in grades five through eight that we serve daily in our school and in our Extended Enrichment Program. Another 230 young people are served in our unique Graduate Support Program for Nativity Academy middle school graduates through high school and into post- secondary education. They have placed emphasis on positive behavior intervention systems, and the fruits of these labors are paying off with a fantastic start. Celebrating

Annual Report 2018

Dear Friends of Nativity,

As we have embarked on the 2018-19 school year, we are celebrating a major milestone – our 15th year!

The hopes and dreams of many began with the opening of Nativity Academy in 2003 at St. Boniface by our founders and early supporters with the inaugural sixth-grade class.

Many along this journey realistically had doubts about how this non-tuition driven school with no regular income stream could survive. Would this small school based on the Nativity Miguel model actually take root and change the lives of some of our most vulnerable students?

We are here today to say, YES! Thanks to the dedicated donors, volunteers, board members, faculty/staff (past and present) and countless others who BELIEVE IN THIS MISSION, Nativity is thriving and has impacted the lives of over 300 young people in Louisville.

Currently, we have 82 students in grades five through eight that we serve daily in our school and in our Extended Enrichment Program. Another 230 young people are served in our unique Graduate Support Program for Nativity Academy middle school graduates through high school and into post-secondary education.

We have much to celebrate this year! Our committed administration, faculty and staff spent countless hours preparing for the beginning of the school year. They have placed emphasis on positive behavior intervention systems, and the fruits of these labors are paying off with a fantastic start.

“The student was in the midst of complaining about the amount of work necessary to improve her writing when in walked a handsome junior from St. X.

“Are you lucky!” he exclaimed. “Working with Mrs. Rink helped me get ready for writing at St. X.” Nationwide, three-quarters of eighth-graders lack the necessary writing skills to succeed in high school. At Nativity, I have the opportunity

to coach eighth-graders one-on-one every day after school. (The young lady never complained again.)
