Statesboro First United Methodist ChurchFirst Sundays Are For Food Bank

Please note your calendars for the first Sunday of each month, and bring non-perishable food for the Statesboro Food Bank. Cereals, peanut butter, rice, dried milk, canned meats, fruits, vegetables, and soups are always good choices. Red wagons for your donation are placed in the Narthex and near the entrance to the Fellowship Hall. This is one more way our church lives out our vision statement: “To glorify God and love others, through worship, study and service.”

Over-the-Counter Medicines Needed for Haiti Medical Mission TripSeveral of our church members (Becky Holmes, Eleanor Schneider, and Karen David) are going on the Medical Mission Trip to Haiti led by Dr. Randy Smith October 23-29. We are collecting over-the-counter medicines that are unexpired…generics and big bottles are fine. We need pain relievers (Advil, Motrin, Tylenol, infant liquid Tylenol), topical antibiotic, antifungal, and anti-itch creams, eye and ear drops, cold and allergy medicines, antacids, anti-diarrheals, most anything sold over-the-counter, except aspirin. We also need powdered infant formula. There will be a box in the gathering area, or you can leave them in your Sunday School classes and we will get them. We, along with the dear people of Haiti, thank you in advance!!!

Isaiah Bible StudyThe Isaiah Bible Study, led by Dr. Charlene Black, will resume Monday, September 12 from 2:30PM-4:30PM in the Church Library. Isaiah chapter 40 will be the first lesson.

Next month we will begin sending bags of food home with eligible students every week. Please consider making a donation to this ministry! You may also choose to sponsor a child for $20 per month.
