OLG public Mass re-opening guidelines 1. During the time of the Corona virus pandemic, Arch-bishop Naumann has given Catholics in the Archdiocese a dispensation from attending in person public Mass. 2. Anyone feeling uncomfortable coming back to public Mass knowing the risks involved should stay home, es-pecially those in high risk groups such as people with serious underlying medical conditions & the elderly. 3. Those choosing to attend public Mass must wear a mask and bring their personal hand sanitizer and a towel to cover the upper part of the pew in front of you that you will touch during Mass. 4. During consecration time, all people will stand up, or be seated if unable to stand up for long, so that you avoid touching the kneelers. 5. A six feet social distance must be kept from other people. Only those living in the same household can sit together in proximity. 6. Mass cannot last more than 45 minutes as directed by Archbishop Naumann. There will be no congrega-tional singing, only an accompanist & a cantor. 7. People cannot congregate socializing before or after Mass per Archdiocese and CDC guidelines. Please go home immediately after Mass. The Church will be sani-tized after mass to be ready for the next group. 8. Holy Communion will be given only in the hand. 9. OLG can only safely accommodate people seated in the pews using every other pew keeping the 6-foot distance in between families to comply with Archdiocesan & CDC guidelines. 10. Access to the church will be only through the main front entrance. *Thanks for your cooperation, patience & understanding as we go through this unprecedented time!!

MEDITACIÓN DEL EVANGELIO – ALENTAR UN EN-

TENDIMIENTO MÁS PROFUNDO DE LA ESCRITURA

(Gospel Meditations)

Primero a Marí a Magda-

Sen or, que tu

ente: “Dios, Padre misericordioso, que has revelado tu

¿Eres devoto

de ella?

ADVOCATE FOR ETHICAL VACCINES

In the document Moral Considerations Regarding the New Covid-19 Vaccines, the U.S. bishops addressed the moral concerns raised by the fact that all the vac-cines have a connection, some more remotely than oth-ers, to cell lines that originated with tissue taken from abortions. Though they concluded receiving a COVID-19 vaccine “is morally permissible and can be an act of self-love and charity toward others” given the grav-ity of the current pandemic and the lack of availability of alternative vaccines, they also warned that Catholics “must be on guard so that the new COVID-19 vaccines do not desensitize us or weaken our determination to oppose the evil of abortion itself and the subsequent use of fetal cells in research.” Therefore, the bishops believe it is the responsibility of Catholics and all people of good will to advocate to pharmaceutical companies and the government for the ethical development, production, testing and distribu-tion of all vaccines and medicines. To assist with this advocacy, the Archdiocese is providing a sample letter for people to use as a template to send to pharmaceu-tical companies. Visit www.archkck.org/vaccines for the template and to learn more. Please read the original USCCB document (www.usccb.org/moral-considerations-covid-vaccines) for a detailed explanation of the moral permissibility of taking the vaccines and to learn why the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are preferred over the other cur-rently available vaccines.
