Dear Brothers and Sisters, First of all, on behalf of Deaf community at St. John’s and Our Lady of Loretto’s, I want to extend heartfelt congratulation to Detroit Association of the Deaf. As many of you know, they are celebrating 100th anniversary. This has made me think of our 100th anniversary celebration two years ago. It was truly a wonderful celebration, and I felt fortunate to be part of this important moment in our history. I am excited that many people from Detroit will attend “Deaf Catholic Mass Mob” at St. Mary Cathedral in Lansing on November 13. I know the Deaf Catholic community in the diocese of Lansing is honored to have you with them for Mass. Thank you for your willingness to attend and support them. Paul Kuplicki, Sr. is working hard to develop a new website for our Deaf Catholic community. I am hopeful that it will be ready online next month or so. More information on the website will be shared with all of you. The Holy Year of Mercy will conclude on November 20. The next Jubilee probably will occur in 2025 - nine years from now. Some of us probably won’t live to celebrate again another holy year in 2025. Hence, I think it would be good idea if you say a prayer of gratitude to God for letting you witness and celebrate this Holy Year with the whole Church. For Advent, St. John’s Deaf Center will have Bible study classes on November 29, December 6, 13, & 20. In prior to the classes at 7 PM, we will have Adoration from 5:45 PM to 6:45 PM. Please come to both every Tuesdays during the Advent! In addition, Michelle Kulpa will offer talk at Our Lady of Loretto’s during the Advent. For more information, please contact Michelle. On November 20, I will offer Sacrament of the Anointing after Mass at OLL and SJDC. Happy Thanksgiving with God’s blessing! Fr. Dear Brothers and Sisters,

First of all, on behalf of Deaf community at St. John’s and Our Lady of Loretto’s, I want to extend heartfelt

congratulation to Detroit Association of the Deaf. As many of you know, they are celebrating 100th anniversary.

This has made me think of our 100th anniversary celebration two years ago. It was truly a wonderful celebration,

and I felt fortunate to be part of this important moment in our history.

I am excited that many people from Detroit will attend “Deaf Catholic Mass Mob” at St. Mary Cathedral in

Lansing on November 13. I know the Deaf Catholic community in the diocese of Lansing is honored to have you

with them for Mass. Thank you for your willingness to attend and support them.

Paul Kuplicki, Sr. is working hard to develop a new website for our Deaf Catholic community. I am hopeful that

it will be ready online next month or so. More information on the website will be shared with all of you.

The Holy Year of Mercy will conclude on November 20. The next Jubilee probably will occur in 2025 - nine

years from now. Some of us probably won’t live to celebrate again another holy year in 2025. Hence, I think it

would be good idea if you say a prayer of gratitude to God for letting you witness and celebrate this Holy Year

with the whole Church.

For Advent, St. John’s Deaf Center will have Bible study classes on November 29, December 6, 13, & 20. In

prior to the classes at 7 PM, we will have Adoration from 5:45 PM to 6:45 PM.

Please come to both every Tuesdays during the Advent!

In addition, Michelle Kulpa will offer talk at Our Lady of Loretto’s during the Advent. For more

information, please contact Michelle.

On November 20, I will offer Sacrament of the Anointing after Mass at OLL

and SJDC.

Happy Thanksgiving with God’s blessing!

Year of Mercy

A Thankful Prayer

Lord, thank you for my health,

strength, grace, compassion,

wisdom, mercy, forgiveness, hope,

faith, peace, joy, loving me

unconditionally, and even the very

breath I take.

Thank you for protection, not only

over myself, but for my loved

ones as well.

Thank you for all the blessings

and gifts during the year.

Thank you Lord. Amen.

“SHARING CHRIST IN AND THROUGH the CHURCH”

Catholic Services Appeal 2016

Each year the Church calls us to help our local churches, support programs offered by the Archdiocese, give as faithful stewards, and pray for Christ’s work to be done. As Catholics, it is our DUTY to help people in need; we can do that through the CSA. The Catholic Deaf Community depends on the success of CSA. We need your help. There are 2 ways to do it: a one-time donation, or, a payment plan. These are difficult times for everyone but this is a one-time yearly donation. Please pray over this, remembering all the gifts God has given you. ALL CHECKS [OLL-WDCD & SJDC] payable to SJDC CSA God bless you!
