frolic on the go! Are you wondering who am I?

I am Clean Genie from Clean Land, a clean crusader to

make you all CLEAN & GREEN Champions! I will be your

holiday partner, to make your holidays interesting and

engrossing. You will have more to think, learn, discover and experiment with

me as your guide. A sustainable world for all, will be our goal. Together, we

will call for an action to protect & ensure that all living beings enjoy this

CLEAN & GREEN world.

So let us move on with our fun filled & adventurous Holiday Home Work

Ride.

I am not alone in this Clean – Green venture.

I have two of my best buddies – The Green Hero &

Water Wally on this journey & a mean baddie -

the Yuck Germ who obstructs my way

at every turn.

Why don‟t you retrace our trip as you read along this poem, like

an adventure film clip!

I, the Clean Genie, fell from CLEAN LAND!

And dropped on a human HAND.

Yikes! Guess what I found?

EWW! Wriggling squirming YUCKY worms

Spreading infections and diseases

This sneaky Yuck Germ.

“Humph! I need to stop this germ right away,

And inform everybody to stop being its prey.”

Listen one! Listen all! Use your brain,

We need to flush this Yuck Germ down the drain!

To my great surprise, for my help in this cause

My best buddy WATER WALLY arrived

Seeing the present humans‟ plight

Together, we decided to start this Sanitation DRIVE!

Spreading the message of a Clean Earth

Across the world we went ……

And Hurray! Look who we met around the next bend!

The Green Hero, our other best friend!

He was also on a crusade, spreading the message for greener Earth, the

planet of his birth!

So here we are, Me, the Clean Genie, Water Wally & Green Hero,

Standing in unison with „SAVE Planet Earth‟ our foremost Mission.

So KIDS, join us in this Ride,

Let us be your guides,

To a destination – A SUSTAINABLE WORLD, side by side!

General Instructions for Holiday Homework (Class I)

Holiday homework is divided into three parts:

1. Worksheets

2. Activities – Creative Expressions

3. Class presentation

Read and follow the instructions carefully given with each worksheet.

Use dark lead pencils or colored glitter pens to complete the worksheets.

Complete the worksheets and paste them on thick A4 sized bright colored

sheets and get them spiral bound like a folder.

Decorate the cover page with the pictures or drawings relevant to the

theme and with the holiday homework mascots that is Clean Genie, Green

Hero, and Water Wally.

Label the cover page of the folder as „MY CLEAN AND GREEN EARTH‟.

The worksheet work given in the homework has to be done in child‟s own

handwriting only. The parent can guide and support in searching the required

information and facilitating the craft work.

Paste colored glossy pictures wherever required.

Use Recyclable or waste material available for Craft activities. Avoid using

thermocol as it is not user friendly.

Good question my friend. By this time all the kids and you must have realized that everyday actions of each one of us add up to affect our planet in positive or negative way.

Hey Green Hero, I have noticed that you have asked students to make green coloured hand print in the activity MY PROMISE TO EARTH. What is it mean?

Great! It is wonderful that our

kids have learned about the

different ways they can help and

care Earth. That means their

green handprint can reduce the

effect of the „footprints‟.

OK... I get it like if we do something good like “plant a tree”. There is a positive effect and if you do something bad like waste water or energy, its result is negative.

Yes! And to explain this better we have two symbols – one of a „handprint‟ and other of a „footprint‟. The „hand print‟ symbol tells us about our positive actions which we take to help Earth and the „footprint‟ is the symbol which tells us about our negative action or the way we live and make use of resources present on earth.

Kids, with these interesting worksheets you have come to know a lot

about the importance of Good Health, Clean Water and Sanitation, Clean and

Affordable Energy and have discovered the effects of Climate Change

under Climate Action. We have also explored the different ways in which

we can help our EARTH. My friends Water Wally, Green Hero and

Myself want you to spread the message of „CLEAN AND GREEN EARTH‟ with the help

of the following CREATIVE CRAFTY CREATIONS

ACTIVITY 1 - MY PROMISE TO EARTH (compulsory for all)

1. Take an old notebook cover or carton cardboard (eg.Kellog's).

2. Cut a circle of diameter of 20cm and paint it as earth using light green and blue

poster colours. After it dries either paste a cut out of dark brown painted hand

with a red heart or put an impression of your hand painted with dark green poster

colour. (refer the pics given)

3. Next take an A-3 size yellow or red pastel sheet.

4. Then paste the cut out of the earth made by you, on this pastel sheet and write

below your promise to save earth.

ACTIVITY 2 – HEALTHY FOOD

A. MY FOOD PLATE (Roll No. 1 to 14)

Create a healthy plate using colourful cut outs of fruits, vegetables, proteins (like

eggs, daals etc.), cereals and grains (like roti, rice, bread etc.) you like to eat in your

daily meal.

1. Take a big paper plate and cover the centre of the plate with old glossy magazine

paper or coloured tissue paper.

2. Make cut outs of healthy items using paper craft or any other creative idea.

3. Now arrange and paste all these healthy items in your plate nicely.

B. FRESH N JUICY BASKET (Roll No. 15 to 28)

Create a fruit basket using a big paper plate and cut outs of fruits made up of small

paper plates or coloured sheets.

Instructions:

1. Take a big paper plate and cut it in the shape of a basket.

2. Paint the basket with any bright colour.

3. Draw and colour atleast 6-8 different fruits using small paper plates/coloured

sheets and cut them.

4. Paste them on the basket to give it the look of fruit basket as shown in the

reference picture.

5. Give 3D effect to your fruit basket by putting cotton or sponge using double sided

tape or by any other innovative idea.

C. DIY DICE FOR KIDS (Roll No. 29 to 42)

Make an interesting dice game using an empty gift box of cube shape around 10”x10”.

Instructions:

1. Take an empty gift box of cube shape and cover it with glossy magazine paper.

2. Make six attractive cut outs of healthy activities with stick figure drawings as

shown in the reference pic using different coloured sheets. Alternately you can paste

the coloured pictures of your chosen activities.

ACTIVITY 3 - CRAFTY CREATIONS

A. BOTTLE CAPS CRAFT (Roll No. 1 to 20)

Use your imagination to create a beautiful symbol craft piece by using colourful

bottle caps of disposable bottles on a used A-3 sized card board.

For eg. Symbol of 3Rs, clean energy, save water, windmill, Tree plantation. For e.g

B. ECO BIN (Roll No. 21 to 42)

1. Take an old medium sized cardboard carton ( 10 to 12 inches).

2. Decorate it using re-usable material (like jute rope, shells, pencil shaving,

coloured stones, buttons etc.)

3. Paste an eco-friendly symbol on your bin.

CLASS PRESENTATION

CLEAN GENIE and her friends GREEN HERO and WATER WALLY have chosen you to

spread the message of „CLEAN AND GREEN EARTH‟.

Prepare a few lines on the below mentioned topics as per your roll number.
