UPCOMING EVENTS!
Divisional Fall Rallies 1
®
Greetings LaMissTenn District Board,
Although we can all agree that Key Clubbers are too cool for school, another school year is
around the corner. This means sleepless nights, cramming for tests, football games, and hectic
schedules! I am excited to be starting my senior year, but I am more excited to be able to work with
you and make Key Club a memorable experience for all members.
We are beginning the exciting part of our terms! The school year brings some excitement to
the Key Club year-fall rallies, board meetings, NOT, and DCON! It will also become easier for you to
be able to contact your clubs and have good attendance at PCMs. This is going to be a great
year!
With “rally season” approaching, it is now more crucial than ever to continue planning. You
will have no regrets if you plan as much as you can before school starts in full swing. Rally won’t be
as stressful if you put yourself in a good position of early planning. You do not want to turn into a
crazy person because of stress. (Take my advice. Your friends and mom will appreciate it!)
This month we will be working very hard to get our new website updated and ready to go for
clubs. You can look at our progress so far at www.lmtkc.org . Please let me know if you have any
suggestions! I want to make our website user-friendly and beneficial to clubs and individual
members.
I am happy to say that as of July 28, 2014, Kiwanis-family
Service Leadership Programs have raised US$3,078,104.83 in total
funds. These funds will save or protect more than 1.71 million women
and babies from maternal and neonatal tetanus. Key Club
International has raised US$20,256 in the last week!
As always, let me know if you ever have any questions, need
help, or just want some advice. I am only one phone call, email, or
text away!
Yours in Service,
Tabitha Kearns

Meet Our IT
I recently went to Indianapolis, Indiana, to attend LeadCon, a leadership conference for the Key
Club International Council. The council consists of the Key Club International Board and the District
Governors. At the conference, I was able to meet Robbie Mathis, our International Trustee from the
Kentucky-Tennessee District, and we made our Governor-Trustee Agreements for the year. Charli
Lehman, the leadership development specialist, presented information about inspiring others,
achieving goals, and connecting with others. LeadCon was impactful in many ways, and I am
proud to say that I will be using some of the things I learned at future board meetings!

For this month, remember to plan as much as you can for rally! Try to get most of your
decorations made during this month. You should have one PCM and start discussing ideas
with your clubs for possible divisional projects. Remember to ask your clubs for suggestions
for the new website.

Coming Soon: Rally Season!
Ahhhh! The time that you’ve been planning for is almost here!
Rally season will begin next month. Now is the time to plan as
much as you can for rally. Here are few suggestions that I
have to add that extra pizazz to your event:
give a “little something” to the faculty advisors and
Kiwanians that will be attending your rally
play energizing music as Key Clubbers arrive
make directional signs for forums, restrooms, etc.
Ask your advisor if he or she can print your materials at
school. This will cut printing costs in your budget.
