O U RMISSION What we are trying to establish here is helping Ladies and Gentlemen to be their true Authentic selves. Which is really hard today when society shows us that being fake is the new cool. The idea stemmed from when I was talking with my good friend who is gorgeous beyond all belief. She started crying because she just felt uncomfortable being herself. This made me realize that people who have no reason at all to be concerned with the way they look, are some of the ones that worry the most.

I myself growing up heard many statistics and cries for help about girls and their self esteem, but the thought never really registered to me that this is real. Over the years I have grown, learned, and have been pushed, to think beyond myself and to see from different perspectives. I know what its like to be the girl that wants to be anybody but herself and I know what it like to be the girl who completely loves herself. The journey in between the two is long and hard but I’m here to help you grow, to help you learn, and to sometimes even push you. I don’t expect to save the world and boost everyone’s self esteem but I figured I could showcase some amazing people and they could see that they’re awesome and so could the rest of the world.

In AUTHENTIC TEEN we refuse to be just another magazine that go-ing to tell “apple shaped” girls they look bad in flowing dresses, or is it they do look good in flowing dresses? It doesn’t matter because that’s not what this is all about. It’s about the awesome person sitting next to us in Algebra class that never says a word, but doodles the coolest sketches on their sneakers. It’s about the girl in Chemistry who can recite all the elements on the periodic table in alphabetical order. It’s about the cheerleader who just got dropped by her squad, and even the Homecoming Queen and King. Point blank, its for you whoever you are, you are special, amazing, and talented, and you are something no one else could ever even dream of being, your just you.

but all I could find were these

“If it isn’t broke- don’t fix it.” I guess that means spit out the exact same game. Temple Run 2 was released on January 17, 2013 on the App Store for iOS. It was later released on Android on January 24, 2013. A version for Windows Phone is currently under development, although there’s no announcement for a release date yet (shocking news- iOS users got a game first...again...like most of the time...). Temple Run 2 introduces new obstacles, including ziplines, mine tracks, sharper turns, and flames of fire. The game is set in a new location, and sees the main character moving at a faster pace. And the new power ups to do a nice amount of fun to the game. Temple Run 2 do offer some great improvements, but they are so small many would miss them, such as the game being more stable and Runs more smoother. If you loved Temple Run, then you’re going to love Temple Run 2. But if you didn’t, then there isn’t anything that will bring you to the table here because it is almost the same game, just better.

Interestingly, Temple Run 2 has so far been extremely successful. Already it has been down-loaded more than 50 million times! Temple Run 2 originally launched exclusively on the App Store on January 17 and quickly rose to the #1 slot in Free Apps, earning over six million downloads( all from iOS users, because it was not out on Android or Amazon Marketplace yet) in less than 24 hours. After its release on Google Play and Amazon Marketplace, Temple Run 2 continued its record-breaking success, racing to the #1 spot, in each store. Following in the footsteps of Temple Run, which has been downloaded over 170 million times, Temple Run 2 has cemented itself in mobile gaming history. APPETITE At one point in time, we have all taken some notes, whether it was in a class, meet-ing, work, recipe, to-do-list, personal, etc. If you’re like me then most likely you have lost many, or if not most of those notebooks. What about the price of all those notebooks? What about keeping them organized in fold-ers and by subject and so on? Sure the iPad already comes with “notes” that is easy and simple to TYPE notes and already syncs with your iMac. But then you need another app to take HANDWRITTEN notes, And another app for PDF VIEWING, and another app to RECORD AUDIO notes, and another app to TAKE or IMPORT PICTURES, and another app for DROPBOX and GOOGLE DRIVE support, AND MORE! With all those apps, you would need a folder just to keep them all together. If only there was a app that did all that and more in a simple to use but highly productive way. This month, we’re focusing on Ferris Beuller’s Day Off. Ferris, along with his right hand man Cameron, and girlfriend Sloane ditch school for the day and have the absolute best adventure ever running around Chicago. They chow down at the fanci-est restaurant, go to a baseball game, take in a little culture at the Art Institute of Chicago, and lead a fantastic musical number in a super awesome parade (and those are just the highlights). The entire experience is exhilarating, and daring, and truly outrageous. And guess what? All of that fun doesn’t have to stay neatly boxed in the silver screen! Everyone needs at least one Ferris Beuller-esque day in their life, and here’s how to make it happen:Absolutely No Planning Aloud. I mean it. Don’t go calling your friends weeks in advance to make sure they can make it, buy your tickets, or blah blah blah. Call them up in the moment and fly by the

seat of your pants.Dress Codes Are For Squares. When you’re on an adventure it is perfectly ac-ceptable to wear combat boots on the beach, your Sunday best on a golf course at mid-night. 1. Good personal Hygiene: No Person want to have be know as that person with the smelly girl or boyfriend so remember to wash your feet brush your teeth before you hit them streets.

2. Confidence: Having confidence separates the men from the boys the women from the girls. Confidence is attractive even if you’re not prettiest or skinniest person its shows your force of personality and also that you’re not afraid to be you.

3. Well Groomed and Dressed (Guys): One of the most important things about life in any capacity is being well dressed. In the sense of impressing the opposite sex having your swag is important but for guys, sagging pants and snapbacks only get you so far with a young lady. So invest in some collared shirts and a tie for the date especially if your meeting the parents.

4. Well Groomed and Dressed (Ladies): In my opinion with ladies simple is best. Super heavy makeup makes you look Hitt!!!! So please refrain from having cake face. Also being fresh to death is a true must. Tights and flats if you can pull them off looks very nice on some la-dies. One other big no is dressing 2 sizes too small. A phase to remem-ber is, “If you can’t pull it up then don’t were it out.”

5. The Intro (Cool & Game): Meeting and getting to know your per-son of interest the key is being “Cool”. Your cool is confidence mixed with conversation skills aka Game. Having Game is some thing you are born with or develop overtime and its meaning is being able to navigate the jungle of likes or dislikes of the person and getting to know your crush.

When thinking of spring, flowers, rain, and morning dew come to mind. So for us gals who live in places where spring consists of rain and gloomy days, we need our clothes to brighten up the atmosphere and make us feel good. This spring it is all about pas-tels, whites, floral, fluorescent colours (neon pinks anyone?) and the swinging sixties. What is the one thing you will be sure to see growing everywhere during the spring? Flowers! Therefore, it is only appropriate to incorporate it into our wardrobe. Last year it was all about the floral, but this year the de-signers took it a step further. On the runways you could see everything from flower petals

to 3D flowers. So whether you want to wear a floral shirt with jeans or a full floral suit, all the more flower power to you.The 60s are making a comeback. This sea-son 60s fashion has taken the runways by storm. The dresses have higher hems, the hair has high ponies and side-swept bangs, and paisley is back. All of this is done with an authentic sixties vibe, but with a modern twist.Pastels had their big comeback last year when designers like Louis Vuitton and Marchesa featured them on their runways for the Spring/Summer Collections. Pastels are a staple for spring because they brighten up

your entire wardrobe compared to the drab colours (black, brown, and maroon) which haunt us during the cold winter. This trend can be worn anyway possible! You can wear a cute pastel shirt with dark jeans to make sure the shirt steals the show. If you want to go even bolder pair your pastels with even more pastel! White has been prominent on a lot of run-ways for the spring/summer 2013 collec-tion. White is a classy and timeless colour. It can be dressed up or down. The amounts of ways you can incorporate white into your wardrobe are limitless. This trend is effort-lessly light and fresh. Following this trend will

be sure make your outfit white hot! If pastels and whites are bright enough for you and you’re looking to be even bolder, neon is the trend for you. The great thing about neon is that it is very minimalistic. By wearing a neon yellow t-shirt, your entire out-fit has an added punch. If one article of neon is enough for you, soften it by adding a pair of jeans or layer it with a sheer blouse. If one article of neon is not enough for you, just add more! Either way you look at it, neon is definitely an attention grabbing trend.

With the last name Love, Charles is known for the love he has for others.

Despite anything he may be be going through he always has love to give for others when they need it. Which is why Charles is our first ever Authentic cover guy. “I think being authentic means you’re genuine and original, I always try to be myself no matter what other people say, and sometimes it’s really hard but that just makes me stronger.” Being able to inter-view him was a pure pleasure of mine, his interview revealed to me that he is a rare being on this Earth, some one who truly put others before himself. He was on the move, running from room to room to get all his assignmets from his teachers. Coat buttoned up nd hat on his head he was on a mission. “When I see people and there struggling or going through a hard time I make it my mission to sit down and help them rather they just need someone to talk to, or physically need help.” Most times you can find charels helping tachers clean there room and or talking with his friends. “Thats what makes me happy is to help others and to see them happy, it makes me feel good.”

Charles’ style is another truly authentic thing about him, you’ll find him wearing bowties and polos, “I like to dress how I feel, if I wake up and I’m feeling good the sun is out I’ll put on my botw tie, slacks, and look sharp. I feel good When I look good.” Most people today we see crawling around in there paja-mas abd a sweatshirt. but Charles take a more visually appealing route to apperance. “nothing like a fresh haircut.” He says with a smile.

“Headed toward the gym, climbing the stairs I asked Charles if he thinks his actions has ever affected other people, he replies with a pause, and a smile thinking back on experiences, to give a solid “yes.” I love when people give me hugs and thank me for my help, or I’ll over hear people saying oh thats Charles he’s so cool. I think what makes me the happiest is to make other people happy, it’s like pay it forwrd. You know?” His ideas and philosophies abuot helping people to really get the sense of what real joy is what makes us applaud his efforts and hoping we can also take on this idea and apply it in our lives.

Oh what a lovely person Charles Love is, from his “prfes-sioanl style” to his helpful hand in evrything all we can do is applaud charles for his fine achievments of being truly awesome, and authentic. which is why he was chosen as our first ever au-thentic guy.
