Fläkt Woods offers a wide range of axial flow fans for

general air movement and special applications such

as emergency high temperature smoke extract and

pressurisation. ATEX fans for explosive atmospheres and

multistage options for increased pressure development.

All fans are tested to the latest internationally recognised

standard IS05801 Part 1 (1997), installation category D

(AMCA approved) for aerodynamic performance and

BS848 Part 2 (1985) for acoustic performance. Coupled

with the above fan diameters, the adjustable pitch

Aerofoil impeller gives the exact performance required,

with a non overloading fan characteristic.

31JM - (315mm) to 100JM - (1000mm).Larger sizes up to 2800mm diameter are also available. Please enquire.

Fan Performance

All fans are tested to the latest internationally recognised standard IS05801 Part 1 (1997), installation category D (AMCA approved) for aerodynamic performance and BS848 Part 2 (1985) for acoustic performance.Coupled with a wide range of fan diameters, the adjustable pitch Aerofoil impeller gives the exact performancerequired, with a non overloading fan characteristic.

Impellers

A unique high efficiency aerofoil section blade with a purposely smoothed hub and clamp plate for adjustablepitch angle availability.The Fläkt Woods impellers are all high pressure die cast to offer thin aerofoil sections for low generation of noise.Every cast aluminium component is X-ray examined using Real Time Radiography inspection prior to assembly.The maximum pitch angles shown allow for speed control by frequency inverter (3ph only).

Motors

All motors are totally enclosed air stream rated class F insulation. Constructed from aluminium or cast iron as standard with special ‘T’ slot or pad mounted fixings. Single speed motors are suitable for speed control by voltage regulation where indicated. Three phase motors are suitable for use with frequency inverters.Two speed motors where available are pole change type.Suitable for horizontal through to vertical shaft operation. Supplied IP55, with removable drain plugs. Sealed for life bearings lubricated with wide temperature range grease. The BT, CT, F22 and PM112 motors are all fitted with overheat protection thermostat as standard. D motors are fitted with Thermistor OHP.These motors are suitable for inverter speed control down to 20% of full speed.

Electrical Supply

220 - 240 V / 50 Hz / 1 φ380 - 420 V / 50 Hz / 3 φ

Temperature Range

-40°C to 50°C as standard. (All motors are not suitable for starting at temperatures lower than -20°C.) Fans thatinclude BT or CT motors can be continuously operated at temperatures up to 70°C. When these fans are operatingin excess of 50°C they should be run at full speed only. Other fans can be operated up to 70°C with appropriatederation of motors.Most standard 3φ fans can be offered for a one off emergency operation at 200˚C for 2 hours.

Casings

JM Aerofoil fans are available in either a long cased form, complete with an externally mounted pre-wiredelectrical terminal box, or short cased for duct or plate installation. Casings are spun from sheet steel with integralpre-drilled and radiused inlet flanges. The galvanised finish gives a high resistance to corrosion and is ideal forexternal as well as internal use.

Accessories

Silencers, Mounting feet, Vibration isolators, Matching flanges, Flexible connectors, Air operated non return dampers, Guards, Bell mouth inlets. Electronic and transformer type speed controllers and frequency inverters.

• Eleven sizes are offered from 315mm to 1000mm diameter.

• Volume flows of up to 19m3/s• Static pressures up to 800 Pa• High energy efficiency

• Low installed noise levels• Motor protection IP55• All casings are hot dipped galvanised• Overheat protection is fitted as standard • Inverter controllable

Fan Performance

All fans are tested to the latest internationally recognised standard IS05801 Part 1, installation category D for aerodynamic performance and BS848 Part 2 (1985) for acoustic performance. Coupled with a wide range of diameters, the adjustable pitch Aerofoil impeller gives the exact performancerequired, with a non overloading fan characteristic.

Impellers

A unique high efficiency aerofoil section blade with a purposely smoothed hub and clamp plate for adjustablepitch angle availability. The Fläkt Woods impellers are all high pressure die cast to offer thin aerofoil sections for low generation of noise.Every cast aluminium component is X-ray examined using Real Time Radiography inspection prior to assembly.The maximum pitch angles shown allow for speed control by frequency inverter.

Motors

Fläkt Woods H.T. Series fans utilise a totally enclosed squirrel cage motor.The grades of motor insulation have been selected to meet the specific requirements for each of the H.T. Categories.These motors are suitable for inverter speed control down to 20% of full speed.

400 V / 50 Hz / 3 φ

Temperature Range

Fans are tested in compliance with high temperature test standard directive 89/106/EEC to EN 12101-3, and are fully CE marked accordingly.Fläkt Woods H.T. Series fan motors are sized to run the fans continuously at normal ambient temperatures (-40°C to 50°C), as well as operating at their emergency high temperature category. (All motors are not suitable for starting at temperatures lower than -20°C.).

Most Standard 3 φ fans can be offered for a one off emergency operation at 200°C for 2 hours.Note: During emergency use inverter should be overridden for full speed.

Casings

JM HT Aerofoil fans are available in either a long cased form, complete with an externally mounted pre-wired electrical terminal box.

Casings are spun from sheet steel with integral pre-drilled and radiused inlet flanges. The galvanised finish gives a high resistance to corrosion and is ideal for external as well as internal use.

AccessoriesSilencers, Mounting feet, Spring type vibration isolators, Matching flanges, Flexible connectors, Air operated non return dampers, Guards, Bell mouth inlets.

The high specification Industrial Markets in Europe require high specification products for the hazardous application sector. To support our customers Fläkt Woods can offer ATEX compliance on its JM Aerofoil axial fans and its new Centripal EU range of centrifugal fans. This combined range is considered the widest range available from a single manufacturer.

What is ATEX?

As from July 1, 2003 the new EU ATEX Directive requires most products to be used in potentially explosive environments to be ATEX compliant. The new directive covers a surprisingly large range of equipment including products used in petro-chemicalplants, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, battery rooms, flourmills, grain silos and other areas where a potentially explosive atmospheremay be present.

Potential explosive hazards are very common and include gases, vapours, mists and dust. The specific mixture being handledcategorises the features each product must include.

Who does ATEX apply to?

End users have the ultimate responsibility to ensure ATEX compliance and Fläkt Woods can assist in this area. Our website www.atex-fans.com provides much of the information and forms required.

Fläkt Woods ATEX Compliant Fans

Fläkt Woods offers both Aerofoil axial fans and Centripal EU range of centrifugal fans that are all ATEX compliant. We have ensured that all the necessary systems are in place during production to continue ATEX compliance. Fläkt Woods have invested heavily in Engineering design and specification to comply with ATEX.

Fläkt Woods fans have been modified in a number of ways including changes to motors, materials, locking systems and conduit systems as well as adapting and revising product guides and operation manuals.

Acceptance throughout Europe

Having the ability to supply ATEX compliance and by CE marking our fans, Fläkt Woods are able to sell fan products anywhere in Europe without further requirements being applied. This also enables refurbishment of existing installations OEM customers can be confident in using Fläkt Woods products to gain the relevant certification of their products.

Fan Performance

Coupled with the above fan diameters the fully adjustable pitch Aerofoil impeller gives the exact performance required with a non overloading fan characteristic. Higher pressures are obtained by multi-staging the Bifurcated Aerofoil fan.

Impellers

A unique high efficiency aerofoil section blade with a purposely smoothed hub and clamp plate for adjustable pitch angle availability.

The Fläkt Woods impellers are all high pressure die cast to offer thin aerofoil sections for low generation of noise.Every component is X-rayed using Real Time Radiography inspection prior to assembly. The maximum pitchangles shown allow for speed control by frequency inverter.

Motors

All motors are totally enclosed fan cooled class F insulation with protection to IP55. All motors are supplied with sealed for life bearings or extended lubricators.

These motors are suitable for inverter speed control down to 20% of full speed.

380 - 420 V / 50 Hz / 3 φ

Temperature Range

Up to 200˚C continuous operation.

Casings

Bifurcated fans are available long case only. Long casing covers impeller and motor and has duct mounted terminal box. The hot dipped galvanised casing gives a high resistance to corrosion.

Silencers, Mounting feet, Vibration isolators, Matching flanges, Flexible connectors, Guards, Bell mouth inlets.

Fan Performance

Ideally suited for exhausting or recirculating fumes, gases and hot air up to temperatures of 200°C.Motor must have access to ambient air. All fans have non overloading characteristics.

Impellers

Cast in aluminium silicon alloy and has a fixed pitch aerofoil section blade. This ensures strength, reliability and performance at high temperature.

Motors

All motors are totally enclosed fan cooled, class F insulation with motor protection to IP55. All motors are supplied with sealed for life bearings.

Electrical Supply

220 - 240 V / 50 Hz / 1 φ380 - 420 V / 50 Hz / 3 φ

Temperature Range

Casings

All casings are hot dip galvanised for long life and a high resistance to corrosion. A seal is provided on the motor shaft.

Fan Performance

All fans are tested to the latest internationally recognised standard IS05801 1997, installation category D for aerodynamic performance and BS848 Part 2 (1985) for acoustic performance.

All motors are totally enclosed air stream rated class F insulation. Constructed from aluminium as standard withspecial ‘T’ slot or pad mounted fixings. Single speed motors are suitable for speed control by frequency inverters.

Suitable for horizontal through to vertical shaft operation. Supplied IP55, with removable drain plugs.

Sealed for life bearings lubricated with wide temperature range grease.

Motors are fitted with thermostat overheat protection as standard.These motors are suitable for inverter speed control down to 20% of full speed.

Electrical Supply

380 - 420 V / 50 Hz / 3 φ

Temperature Range

-40°C to 50°C as standard. (All motors are not suitable for starting at temperatures lower than -20°C.) Fans that include BT or CT motors can be continuously operated at temperatures up to 70°C. When these fans are operating in excess of 50°C they should be run at full speed only. Other fans can be operated up to 70°C with appropriate deration of motors.

Most standard 3φ fans can be offered for a one off emergency operation at 200˚C for 2 hours.

Casings

JM Aerofoil fans are available long cased, complete with an externally mounted pre-wired electrical terminal box.

Casings are spun from sheet steel with integral pre-drilled and radiused inlet flanges. The galvanised finish gives a high resistance to corrosion and is ideal for external as well as internal use.

Accessories

Silencers, Mounting feet, Vibration isolators, Matching flanges, Flexible connectors, Air operated non return dampers, Guards, Bell mouth inlets.

Fan Performance

The fan uses the JM aerofoil impeller set at maximum pitch for the motor to give maximum cooling velocity.

Impellers

A true aerofoil section high pressure die cast aluminium assembly. All cast aluminium components are X-rayinspected to ensure strength, reliability, performance and safety.

Motors

All motors are totally enclosed with class F insulation. Protection IP55. All motors are supplied with sealed for life bearings.

Electrical Supply

100 - 110 V / 50 Hz / 1 φ220 - 240 V / 50 Hz / 1 φ380 - 420 V / 50 Hz / 3 φ

Temperature Range

-40°C to 50°CFor higher temperatures please enquire.

(All motors are not suitable for starting at temperatures lower than -20°C.)

Casings

Casings are hot dip galvanised with built in conical inlet to ensure performance. The fan is mounted in a heavy duty purpose built tubular frame, a heavy duty isolator is also fitted. Fans are supplied complete with motor side and impeller side safety guards.
