THE TEAM

AXLR8R Formula Racing is a group of students in IIT Delhi determined towards designingand building Formula style race cars and competing at the International Formula SAE

platform. The team originated in 2006 and since then has participated in Formula

Student California 2007, Formula Student UK 2008, 2009 and 2012. In 2014 the team is

all set to participate in Formula Student UK.

The primary objectives of the team include:

Promoting high end innovation and engineering in automotive racing.

Bridging the gap between cutting edge acadamic research and industries.

Building an environment combining IIT Delhi academicians, industries and studentson UG, PG and doctorate level to promote innovations and world class automotive

research.

THE COMPETITION

Formula SAE is an international collegiatedesign competition focussed on the design,

manufacturing and testing of a Formula style

open-wheel race car. Eight competitions are

held every year under FSAE in which 250 teams

from across the world take part in one of these

eight competitions.

The cars are judged for their handling,

performance, manufacturability, serviceability,

design, cost and endurance. The team with the

highest cumulative score out of 1000 points is

declared the winner.

The competition consists ofstatic and dynamic

events, in which the teams design knowledge,

business presentation, costs analysis and the

cars dynamic performance in an acceleration,

skid pad and energy efficiency used.
