IN OUR PARISH COMMUNITY
Live the Liturgy As we begin our Advent journey in preparation for the celebration of
Christ’s birth and in anticipation of His coming again in glory, we are
reminded of our need to be vigilant and prepared. This short season
of Advent can be a mini-retreat for us who find ourselves living in a
world that is often counterproductive to developing mature, focused,
and meaningful relationships with God. Being a Christian and
standing firm in our faith requires a strength that can only come
from prayer. These four short preparatory weeks can help us look
back to what God has done in history, to what God continues to do in
our lives today, and to what God promises for the future. May we use
this Advent time wisely, calling us to greater holiness.
Holy Day Masses:
The Immaculate Conception of Mary Saturday, December 8, is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. It
is a Holy Day of Obligation. Therefore, Catholics are expected to
attend Mass this special feast day honoring the Virgin Mary. Our
cluster parishes are offering Masses at the following times:
St. Bernadette: 12/07/16, 6:30PM
St. Catherine of Alexandria: 12/08/16, 9:30AM
Please note: If you attend Mass for the Immaculate Conception on
Saturday morning, this does not fulfill your Sunday Mass
obligation for the weekend.
Please Pray for Our Long-term Sick:
Virginia Lemberger Carl Smith
All those listed in the Book of Assembly Prayer
Inclement weather policy When Northwest Catholic School closes due to inclement weather,
the St. Bernadette Parish office will also close and morning Mass will
be canceled. You can confirm the closure by checking the television
closing listings or going online with Channels 4, 6, and 12. Please
note: We could be listed under St. Bernadette or Saint Bernadette.
Please Remember in Your Prayers
We commend to God Patricia Restivo, whose funeral was
celebrated here on November 26. May her soul and the
souls of all our faithful departed rest in eternal peace.
Please remember Patricia and her family in your prayers.

2019 Calendar Raffle Our 2019 calendar raffle tickets are here! They make
great stocking stuffers or Christmas gifts. Calendars
are available in the parish office and in the gathering
area, and watch for them to be sold after Masses and
during other parish events. Please return your
completed ticket stubs with $20 per entry in an
envelope marked “Calendar Raffle.” (Ticket stubs will
not be accepted without payment.) Entries can be
returned to the parish office or dropped in the
collection basket no later than December 31. A
winning ticket will be picked each day. There will be
363 chances to win $20 and two chances to win
$100. Winning names will be re-entered for
additional chances to win. So far 179 tickets have
been returned. We need to sell 400 to break
even. Our goal is to sell at least 500, which would be
a profit of about $2,000. If we don’t sell enough tickets
by December 31, the raffle cannot be held, so don’t
wait until the last minute—start buying and selling
tickets now!
