If we are constantly upset and impatient with others, we will end up drained and weary. But if we regard the faults and limitations of others with tenderness and meekness, without an air of superiority, we can actually help them and stop wasting our energy on useless complaining. Ascension of the Lord - The Ascension of the Lord will be celebrated next Saturday and Sunday (June 1-2). Some places celebrate the Ascension on Thursday and other places celebrate it on Saturday and Sunday. In the Acts of the Apostles Jesus ascends 40 days after Easter. In the Gospel of John, Jesus ascends on Easter Sunday. The bishops of each region or country determine when the Ascension will be celebrated.

St. Thomas Parish has chosen the month of May to give some very needed help to Caritas. A large box will be in the back of the church to put your donated items in. Items needed are:

Shaving cream, razors, shampoo, conditioner, soap, body wash, hair spray, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, combs, hair brushes, ethnic products, Q-tips, body lotions, after shave products, mouthwash, sanitary pads, and toilet paper. Join us on Saturday, June 1, 7 p.m. for a free concert at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 822 E. Grand Ave, Beloit with complementary refreshments. Sixteen area professional musicians and vocalists will perform jazz, classical, and movie themes. All donations will be sent to the Milwaukee chapter of the Pancreatic Action Network to support pancreatic cancer research.
