Staff Appreciation WeekJ

May 2 - May 6, 2011

Dear Beresford Parents J

In honor of our dedicated teachers and staff who work so hard to ensure our

children receive a rewarding and enriching learning experience, Beresford has set

aside the week of May 2-6 to do a number of small activities to show our

appreciat ion.

How you and your child(ren) can get involved

Staff Breakfast

A "Steff Breakfast" is being planned for Wednesday, May 4 and we need your help

to make this a tasty success! We need parent volunteers to provide the food and

flower items listed below.

The breakfast items should be dropped off in the staff lounge on Tuesday, May 3

before 4pm or by lam on Wednesday, May 4.

Please email Christina Armstrong at caarmstrong99@yahoo.com to confirm you can

provide one of these menu items or any favorite breakfast dish you'd like to

contribute.

Staff Appreciation Breakfast Menu for Up to 24

2 Large Fruit Salads

1 32 oz container of vanilla yogurt

1Box of Granola

3 dozen muffins or scones

2 breakfast egg casseroles or quiches

20Js

1 half-n-half for coffee

3 dozen tulips for centerpiece

Staff Favorites

This year we would like to ask for a very small cash donation ($5 or any amount)

from each student to purchase gifts for each of our staff members; e.g. gift cards

and chocolate. Expect a note from your classroom Room Parent with instructions.

This is more of an FYI for now.

Builda Vase of Flowers

Please plan on having your child bring one flower to school on Thursday, May5, It

can even be a flower picked from your garden! Vases for each teacher willbe

assembled in the LGI before school starts. Expect a note from your classroom

RoomParent with more details.

There are many other personal ways you and your child can express your

appreciation. A simple thank you or handwritten note can make your teacher feel

valued. Here are a few suggestions to help you with ideas. Just please pick one and

honor your teacher that week!

• For younger children, ask them to draw a special picture

• For older children, ask them to write a special note or a poem

• Bring a picture you may have taken of your teacher and child with a personal

note

• Volunteer an hour or two to help your child's teacher - they have plenty of

evening work

• Donate a book to your child's classroom library

• Donate a classroom supply

• Bring a homemade baked treat

Thank you in advance for helping us create a special week for our Beresford

teachers and staff!

Por favor planeen que su nino(a) traiga una flor a la escuela el jueves, 5 de mayo.iHasta puede ser una flor de su jardln !Se ormcrdn los floreros para coda uno de

los maestros en el LGI antes de que empiece la escuela. Esperen mas detalles en

una nota del padre/ madre de su salon.

Hay otras maneras personales que usted y su nino(a) pueden expresar aprecio. Una

nota de gracias escrita a mano, puede hacer que su maestro(a) se sienta

apreciado(a). Aqui hay algunas sugerencias para ayudarlos con ideas. jElijan una y
