Stitch holders. GAUGE 17 sts and 25 rows = 4" [10 cm], using larger needles in dot pattern. INSTRUCTIONS Note: When changing colors at the end of a row, do not break yarn; carry color not in use loosely up side edge. BACK Using smaller needles and MC, cast on 42 (46, 50, 54) sts. **Knit 2 rows. Change to A; knit 2 rows. Change to B; knit 2 rows. Change to larger needles, St st, and Fair Isle Pattern from chart; work even for 6 rows. Change to smaller needles and B; knit 2 rows. Break yarn. Change to A; knit 2 rows. Break yarn. Change to MC; knit 2 rows.** Change to larger needles and Dot Pattern; work even until piece measures 7 (, , )" from beg, ending with a WS row. Place marker at beg and end of row for beg of armhole. Work even until piece measures 8 (9, 9½, 10)" [20.5 (23, 24.5, 25.5) cm] from beg, ending with a WS row. Cast off all sts. LEFT PLACKETUsing larger needles and MC, cast on 9 sts. Beg Dot Pattern, inc 1 st at beg of every other RS row 5 (5, 6, 6) times – 14 (14, 15, 15) sts. FINISHINGBlock pieces to measurements. Sew shoulder seams. Sew in Sleeves between markers. Sew in Plackets, overlapping Left over Right for a boy and Right over Left for a girl. Sew side and Sleeve seams.Using yarn needle, weave in ends.
