SPECIAL ADVERTISING SECTION A relative newcomer to Hawaii’s mortgage market, facing competition from national financial giants and well-established local banks, Honolulu HomeLoans (HHL) gathered island-based talent with extensive experience and market savvy of Hawaii’s mortgage, finance and real estate industries to offer expert service and competitive mortgage interest rates. Opening its doors in February 2010 in a still recovering local economy, the full service mortgage company, in less than two years, has achieved more than $1 billion in mortgage loans with a servicing portfolio in excess of $600 million. Named as one of the Top 100 mortgage companies in America by Mortgage Executive Magazine, HHL ranks as the 99th largest mortgage company in the nation based on 2011 production volume. An impressive accomplishment since 2011 was HHL’s first full year in business. A big part of the credit goes to Honolulu HomeLoans’ 75 employees, according to President and Chief Executive Officer Tom Zimmerman. In 2012, Honolulu HomeLoans was selected as one of Hawaii’s Best Places to Work. “We have the best team of people in the state who work together to ensure that our customers get outstanding service and solid advice to make their dream of homeownership come true,” says Zimmerman, a 20-year mortgage professional in Hawaii and one of the founders of Honolulu HomeLoans. From the start, HHL strived to be “a progressive organization, taking advantage of technology, creating a paperless work environment, and stressing a work/family balance for our employees,” explains Anders Hostelley, Executive Vice President & Chief Production Officer. “We make our borrowing process fast, simple and hassle-free for both our clients and our employees. Inquiries about loans can be quickly handled through the Internet, by telephone or fax,” he adds. The use of advanced and secure automation systems provides its clients with tools and resources to obtain a mortgage quickly, efficiently and safely. The statewide company is constantly keeping abreast of new technologies and looking out for new opportunities. HHL also offers its employees a wide range of health and vacation benefits, as well as company- sponsored employee events and get-togethers (including family members) to reward good work and to enjoy each other’s company, adds Zimmerman. “Building a trusted relationship with a client is the core of our business of helping people find the home where they can raise their families and put down roots in the community. Supporting our employees with a caring, family- oriented work environment is our way of saying thanks every day for building that trust for us, one client at a time,” says Zimmerman. !
