FROM PRINCIPAL’S DESK
Dear Parent,th
15 July 2013!! The day when we started with our fourth branch of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir Trimurti Nagar was indeed a proud moment for all the stakeholders of Bhavan's family. Expectations were high and standards of quality education set earlier were known to all. Hence, it was a challenge for the educators to ensure these and raise the bar of excellence for our dear parents who had deep faith in us.
'A child is not only a mirror of parent, but a gift of parent to the society.'Infact, it is rightly said, 'Each child is special and every mother has it.' Parents, for their child are the best guardian in this world as long as their association with the child prevails.
With strong belief in this thought, we started our educational journey. Four years of our enriched and splendid journey have made us realize that parents are a strong binding force for every child and his/her achievements. A child brought up with confidence and value based parenting when exposed to schooling, is capable to create his/her own space in the society and gets going! We greatly value our beloved parents and their major role in the making of their child's attitudes and approach towards curricular and extracurricular learning. In fact, such parenting fosters psychological tuning including elements like honesty, empathy, self-reliance, kindness, cooperation, self-control, and cheerfulness. To have happy kids in our school, who are the byproduct of peaceful parenting, we highly promote a collaborative bonding between school, parent and child. A rightful and enjoyable parenting can be achieved by following simple but firm set of rules. It reminds me of the words of Laurence Steinberg and his 'TEN BASIC PRINCIPLES OF GOOD PARENTING' which clearly highlight following aspects –
* What You Do Matters – Be a mindful parent.* You Cannot Be Too Loving - Avoid expressing love in the form of pampering as it can spoil your relationship.* Be Involved in Your Child's Life- Spend quality time with your child but at the same time avoid being intrusive. * Adapt Your Parenting to Fit Your Child- Adjust your parenting temperament and have patience during developmental transitions. * Establish Rules and Set Limits- Monitor regularly to handle conflicts over rules, be firm but be fair to make him/her disciplined.* Help Foster Your Child's Independence - Give required psychological space to ensure needed autonomy, avoid micromanaging.* Be Consistent - Identify the non negotiable and be consistent to set up a routine.* Avoid Harsh Discipline - Use 'Explain' as the most effective way of changing undesired behaviour.* Explain Your Rules and Decisions- Be clear with what you expect, support it logically and reason it out well. * Treat Your Child With Respect - Treat your child the same way in which you expect him to treat you.
To conclude with, I would state – Effective parenting is not merely a 'to do task' for every parent but a 'must do mission' which involves time, patience and most importantly LOVE. It also helps us understand through our own experiences that changes may not happen overnight but are a result of sincere and thoughtful efforts taken by all involved to enhance the personality of a child.
With this conviction in our mind, let us all join hands together, move ahead in our journey and make our children better each day, help them become independent in their process of learning and self improvement and ultimately see them blooming into responsible and global citizens of today's world.

SCHOOL PANORAMA
School is a miniature of society, and a bridge between family life and social life.
Pre-primary education is a very essential building block in child's elementary education. It lays healthy
foundation for all- round development in a child's growth years. It helps in bridging the gap between home
and the formal school. It exposes the creativity of the child thus allowing the child to develop his personality
in a natural and play way method.

Our morning school Assembly portrays the true school spirit i.e to develop social , moral and cultural values which also
enhances the feeling of affiliation. The Assembly starts with the prayer by K.G.II choir group, followed by Birthday
celebration for the day. Various information is shared through Teacher's talk whereas added highlights are the festival
celebrations showcased through dramatization, speech, story narration, rhyme, etc which contributes to children’s
motivation.

Learning By Doing Class Activities
Active Learning plays an important role in
engaging and motivating students to
optimise their learning. Students can
interact with their environment and learn by
doing. Play is very important for children to
learn and grow. They will learn from what is
interesting to them and thus become
capable of understanding , and doing
according to their age and abilities.“Learning by Doing” means learning from
one's own action. The tiny tots gain direct
experience with the demonstration and
description of actions in classes through
various activities like letter formation
using flash cards, identification through
hopscotch, word formation ,etc.
Fine Motor Skill Activities
CLASSROOM BUSTLE
Never help a child with the task at which he feels he can succeed.
Fine motor Skills are those that involve
a refined use of the small muscles which
control the hand ,fingers and thumb
movement. With the development of these
skills ,a child is able to complete important
tasks such as writing, colouring, buttoning
of dress, tying shoe lace, feeding oneself,
etc. These activities helps them to develop
eye-hand co-ordination, patience and
concentration. These abilities are
gradually developed through exposure
and hands-on experience with variety of
Montessori equipments, toys and
activities. Keeping this in mind, the children
are exposed to various activities like
Threading, pouring, sorting, arranging
blocks, etc. in the classes of K.G I and
especially in Nursery. Peg Board

Children are encouraged to play regularly to improve their 'personal best', and develop basic skills in all the games which are played at school. It plays a major part in the life of an individual. It goes beyond academics and yet is an integral part of a school life. School infrastructure provides ample space for the children to give vent to their imagination and explore the areas for free play to the fullest.
Give children toys that are powered by their imagination, not by batteries.

Experiential Learning Early experience prepares students for real life. Most experiential learning activities are done in small groups for better interaction and effective learning. Through these team projects, students learn to work more effectively together developing a plan of action and utilizing the unique qualities of each team member. In turn, students learn the real life leadership skills, as well as how to apply critical thinking and adapt to changing circumstances. Thus school organizes various activities throughout the year like Going to the market, Table Manners, Float and Sink, Birthday party, etc. helping children learn best through first hand experiences.
Beyond The Classroom
Float and Sink - Concept Birthday Party- Conversation
Children must be taught how to think , not what to think.
Outdoor trips are recognized as important moments in learning; a shared social experience that provides the opportunity for students to encounter and explore novel things in an authentic setting. Students were taken for excursion to create a learning experience outside the classroom, providing an enjoyable environment. Excursions help students to interact with what they are learning. The experience goes beyond reading about a concept; students are able to see it, manipulate it or participate in it physically.
Sandwich Making
Children learn by touching, tasting,
seeing, feeling, and listening. Cooking
activities are ideal for children because
all their senses are stimulated. When a
child's senses are engaged as they are
during cooking experiences, learning
becomes meaningful and memorable.
Our budding chefs explore their senses
through cold cooking like lemonade making, sandwich making, etc. which boosts their self confidence and lays
down the foundation for healthy eating habits.

space for emotional well being. In school,
varied activities are staged not only to

Education and competition are two universal ingredients of all human cultures. Competitions play a role in motivating students to perform and excel and offer a lot more reward than just the winning prize. Competitions offer a chance for participants to gain substantial experience, showcase skills, analyze and evaluate outcomes and uncover personal aptitude. Competitions also encourage students to adopt innovative techniques and develop their ideas and skills.

Orientation Programme
The very first year, teachers and parents constitute the major portion of a
child's environment and the child begins to express ideas that it has
acquired from observation. 'Know your child' activity was designed to
find a root cause analysis of children's behavior patterns and equips the
parents with the knowledge to help children to blossom to their full
potential.Similar activities that help in these developments were conducted for the
parents. To name a few, Growing together, I am the best, First
impressions were organised and parents participated wholeheartedly,
Know your child
Every year school holds an orientation program on its first PTM for the new parents to introduce them to the teaching style, discipline methods as well as school and classroom policies to help a child fit into school's new environment for better approach towards child's conduct. Through this program, parents have the opportunity to learn about the play way methods which can be implemented at home, by them while teaching their children. The main aim of the orientation is to familiarize the parents "as partners in progress" with the curriculum, rules and regulations of the school, teaching methodologies and the co-curriculum activities.
Orientation is the effective communication between the teachers and the parents to seek each others support and suggestions so that the child could be provided the best for his overall development. Teachers also play an important role to provide the guidelines about effective parenting.

BUILDING ALLIANCE
The child is the centre of our universe, wherein, a parent is a teacher at home and a teacher is a parent in school.
Parent- Teacher meetings play an integral role in child's education and overall development. An effective parent
teacher partnership becomes evident in early years of a child's growth to develop a common goal that focuses on
helping a child acquire best school experience. It is an opportunity for both to refine and plan child's individual
capacity.
We may not be able to prepare the future for our children, but we can at least prepare our children for the future.
