Please keep all of these intentions in your daily prayers: For our Pastor’s Intentions: * Let us pray in reparation for the sins committed by Cardinals, Bishops, Priests and Deacons against the Lord’s commandments, as well as for healing for the victims of sin. * For the Holy Spirit to fall fresh upon our parishioners and for the constant renewal of our parish. * That the Holy Spirit may give us the gift of worship and more people discover the gift of music and join our choirs. * For all the young people travelling to WYD in Panama from around the world, especially the group that is going from Blessed Trinity. For our Parish Intentions: * For our school families, faculty & staff * For our BT family community For the Pope’s Intentions: In the Service of Peace. That the language of love and dialogue may always pre-vail over the language of conflict. For the sick and elderly of the Parish, especially Boulous Sabe and Donald Scarcello. Blessing of an Advent Wreath

The use of the Advent Wreath is a traditional practice which has found its place in the Church as well as in the home. The blessing of an Advent Wreath takes place on the First Sunday of Advent or on the evening before the First Sunday of Advent. When the blessing of the Advent Wreath is celebrated in the home, it is appropriate that it be blessed by a parent or another member of the family.

All make the sign of the cross as the leader says: Our help is in the name of the Lord.

Response (R/.) Who made heaven and earth. Then the Scripture, Isaiah 9: (lines 1-2 and 5-6) or Isaiah 63 (lines 16-17 & 19) or Isaiah 64 (lines 2-7) is read:

Reader: The Word of the Lord. R/. Thanks be to God.

With hands joined, the leader says: Lord our God, we praise you for your Son, Jesus Christ: he is Emmanuel, the hope of the peoples, he is the wisdom that teaches and guides us, he is the Savior of every nation. Lord God, let your blessing come upon us as we light the candles of this wreath. May the wreath and its light be a sign of Christ’s promise to bring us salvation. May he come quickly and not delay. We ask this through Christ our Lord. R/. Amen.

The blessing may conclude with a verse from “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel”:

O come, desire of nations, bind in one the hearts of humankind; bid ev’ry sad division cease and be thyself our Prince of peace. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel. —From Catholic Household Blessings & Prayers

Dear parish family, Last Thursday we paused as a nation to thank God for his many blessings. Today, I pause and thank God for the amazing gift of this parish and community. I would like to express my most sincere gratitude to everyone who volunteered tirelessly at the festival last weekend. I realize the great amount of work and effort that goes on behind the scenes putting together such an event; so many made sacrifices for it, and I am overwhelmed with gratitude. I would like to thank each of you personally for EVERYTHING! As an expression of my gratefulness, I have offered a private Mass for each of you asking the Holy

Spirit to continue to shower you with blessings from above. In a special way, I thank the chairman of the festival, DJ Scarcello, the co-chair Jenny De La Cruz, along with all the members of the festival committee. Your hard work definitely paid off; our children had great fun and, more importantly, they made beautiful memories to last them a lifetime. Your efforts translate into the legacy of tomorrow. As a pastor, I am often privileged to witness moments that are humbling. It is truly commendable to see the dedication of DJ and Jenny they serve their families while they serve Christ's church through this festival. DJ was able to successfully bring the festival to fruition while taking care of his large family and supporting his father through his illness. Please keep Don Scarcello (DJ's dad) in your prayers. Jenny was able to assist in this endeavor as she handles all of her family responsibilities and our parish youth groups in her new role as youth minister. Once again, thank you to everyone who collaborated to make our festival a huge success! Please receive my love, prayers and blessings today and always. Fr.
