BOB Corée Sept 2012 On launching MAMA Shelter Paris over three years ago, its founders; Serge Trigano, Jeremie Trigano, Benjamin Trigano, Cyril Aouizerate and Philippe Starck, announced that their development would be created around a single philosophy; to establish MAMAs in locations that tell a unique story of the world. The second MAMA had to be the very essence of its founders’ definition of Hospitality, a value common to all world cultures. With that same spirit in mind as MAMA Shelter Paris, Philippe Starck designed <MAMA Shelter Marseille>, which opened its doors in April 2012. Marseille was selected as the location for MAMA. This location places MAMA right in the city centre, near the Cours Julien district with its urban art vibe and its mix of concert halls, young fashion designers and sunny terraces. <MAMA Marseille> is the modern relationship with an ancestral reality. So much more than a place to sleep, Mama Shelter is the heart of life, a place where people gather around a shared meal, a live band, unpredictable encounters. 127 rooms between 15 to 45m 2 , spread over six floors with the option of five categories and colors. Rooms are similar to those at MAMA Paris, but drawing on a new energy through the colors of the Mediterranean. On arriving the hotel, the small square furniture and a warm and vast octopus extends its tentacles as the first sign of welcome to those who have chosen to allow themselves a few days at MAMA. The ground floor quickly sets the tone. Next to the live stage and its suspended musical instruments stands a 4m long table football game that can be played by 8 to 16 people. The long bar and the kitchen are facing each other with in the middle, long tables where you can share a meal. You can also sit comfortably, looking at the soft light that goes through to the terrace. MAMA helps you be at your most effective and creative by providing you with a unique and clever meeting space, l’Atelier. Here people can find everything they need for best ideas such as a flip-chart, a large meeting table, Wi-Fi access, one 65˝ and 3x22˝ LCD screens and a Bose sound system, but also a bar and a ping-pong table so can relax a bit. 트리가노, 시릴 아위제라트, 필립 스탁은 자신들의 개발 사업이 단 하나의 철학에 근간하여
진행될 것이라고 발표했고, 그것은 ‘마마’를 세계의 독특한 이야기를 담고 있는 곳에 세워
놓겠다는 것이었다. 두 번째 마마 셸터는 이들이 규정한 손님 접대의 진정한 의미를 가장 잘
표현해주는 곳으로, 이는 세계의 모든 문화권에 공통된 가치이다. <마마 셸터 마르세유>는 마마
셸터 파리와 같은 개념에 의해 필립 스탁이 디자인한 것으로, 2012년 4월에 문을 열었다. 새롭게
선보이는 마마는 마르세유 지역에 자리를 잡았는데, 이 인근의 쿠르 줄리앵 지구는 예술적
분위기가 넘쳐 나고, 콘서트홀과 젊은 패션 디자이너, 노천 테라스들이 한데 어우러진 곳으로,
<마마 마르세유>는 살아 있는 과거와 현대가 뒤섞여 있는 장소가 됐다. 따라서 마마 셸터는
단순히 숙박을 위해 머무는 장소 그 이상의 삶의 구심점으로, 이곳에서 사람들은 같이 모여
식사를 나누고 라이브 밴드를 즐기며, 뜻밖의 만남을 경험하게 될 것이다. 면적이 15에서 45㎡에
이르는 127개의 객실은 선택 가능한 다섯 가지 유형과 색상을 갖춘 채 6층에 걸쳐 배치됐으며,
객실의 디자인은 마마 파리의 것과 유사하지만, 지중해 특유의 색상을 새롭게 도입함으로써
새로운 에너지를 주입했다. 호텔에 도착하면, 색색의 네모난 상자와 다리를 뻗어내는 듯한
푸근하고 커다란 문어 조형물이 마마 셸터의 투숙객들을 반겨주며, 1층에서 곧바로 분위기가
조성된다. 라이브 무대와 매달린 악기들 옆으로는 길이가 4m에 이르러 8명에서 16명까지
같이 즐길 수 있는 축구 게임 테이블이 있으며, 긴 바와 부엌은 서로 마주 보며 배치되어 있고
그 중간에 여럿이 같이 식사할 수 있는 긴 테이블도 있다. 또한, 이곳에서는 편안하게 앉아서
테라스를 통해 들어오는 은은한 빛을 감상할 수도 있다. 마마 셸터에는 기발하고 독특한 회의
공간인 ‘라틀리에’도 마련됐는데, 이곳에는 플립 차트, 대규모 회의용 탁자, 와이파이 서비스,
65인치 LED 스크린 하나와 22인치 LED 스크린 세 대, 보스의 음향 시스템이 갖춰져 사람들이
가장 능률적이고 창조적인 상태에 머물 수 있도록 도와준다. 이뿐만 아니라 이곳에는 잠시
