Yerbas Buenas Historical Museum

This was the house where stayed the SpanishBrigadier Antonio Pareja, commander of the royalarmy on the night of April 26, 1813, this day theirtroops and patriotic troops held what was the firstimportant meeting in the emancipation of Chile,known today as the "Yerbas Buenas surprise".

The Historical Museum of Yerbas Buenas works inthis house, with thick adobe walls, clay tile and

bamboo sticks skies tied with leather. It wasfounded on October 29, 1976 and declaredHistorical Monument on August 22, 1984.

Holds manuscripts and documents relating toindependence; samples of artifacts and household

utensils used during colonial times, and therelationship of facts giving rise to the town.

1. Do you consider important the museum?R: I think that it is really important because the museum preserves ninecollections of heritage character, in which there are more than twothousand objects protected by the law of national monuments; and alsobecause it shows the artistic and historic past from the region and thecountry.

2. What do you think this region/city should have to make progresses intourism?R: Maybe we need to renovate our touristic resources in order topromote them and attract more tourists, because there are a lot ofbeautiful places but not many people know about them.

3. How many visitors come each year to the museum?R: we don´t have a concrete number. But hundreds of visitors come eachyear to visit us.

4. Who visit the museum more frequently, Chileans or tourists? What doyou think about it?R: I have to say that Chileans visit more the museum, probably becausenot many tourists know about the existence of it.

5. Do you think that there is something you could do to bring in morepeople?R: of course, there are a few activities that we are trying to implement.The first one has to do whit cultural exhibitions, in which we coulddisplay about historical facts in the region and also open a debate fromthat topic. Then we have been thinking about making a play inside themuseum. And finally I think it would be very useful to make someworkshops in which we could teach everything about Maule’s region.

Panimávida Thermal Baths are ubicated 70 km south the city of Talca. In here we canfind natural outdoor thermal baths, massage rooms, hydrotherapy and some spas.

the Quinamavida thermal baths are located 69 km south Talca. It is the most knownthermal bath in the area because of it’s succesfull medical treatments. Some of the

therapeutic benefits this water has is to: relieve the arthritis, rheumatism, bronchitis,asthma, sinusitis, cistitis, renal and skin diseases. It also helps to the cardiological

activity and the stress relievial.

Termal Baths of Catillo are located 26 km south-east Talca. The place has differentthermal pools with different temperaturas, pools with hydro massage, individual bathswith hydro massage, saunas, steamed baths, scothish showers and masoterapy romos.

The national park Siete Tazas(Seven Cups) it’s located in the province of Curicó, Chile. Thereserve's most popular feature was the area known as Siete Tazas. which consisted of seven

consecutive natural pools with their respective waterfalls along Claro River. These waterfallsrange from 1 to 10.5 metres. Unluckily before the earthquate in the 2010, the Seven Cupsendup completely dried up. It is believed a rock fissure allowed the water to empty into an

aquifer.In the reserve there are also two high waterfalls called El Velo de Novia (The Bridal Veil) andLa Leona (The Lioness), with single vertical drops of 40 and 20 metres respectively. Manykayakers paddle the smaller falls ranging from 1 to 10.5 metres (3-32 feet). Once kayakersenter the steep canyon the only way out is down. Many tourists congregate on platformssurrounding the canyon to watch the kayakers as they navigate the waterfalls. At the end ofthe run kayakers must make a quick move to shore in order to avoid the 40 meter waterfall.This is the end of the canyon where kayakers then hike out.
