The additions bring coun- ty totals to 67 positive, 6,261 negative, and two deaths. About 8.4 percent of county residents have been tested, said Doug Toole, Public Health Adminis- trator. Statewide, 12.9 percent have been tested and, at the national level, 10.8 percent. Resident reminders Hoopeston city offices will be closed Friday for Inde- pendence Day. Bulk garbage day will not be held Saturday. The next bulk garbage day will be July 18. Residents are asked not to put several items in the city sewer system. These include grease, cleansing wipes, diapers, hair and plastic of any kind. New Covid cases Vermilion County had three new positive Covid-19 cases reported Wednesday, a married couple in their 30s and a person in his 20s. The additions bring coun-ty totals to 67 positive, 6,261 negative, and two deaths. About 8.4 percent of county residents have been tested, said Doug Toole, Public Health Adminis-trator. May 14 Josh R. Hasbargen, Hoopeston, failed to appear for possession of drug paraphernalia, found guilty by default. He was fined and a status hearing set for June 10. Joshua J. Edwards, Hoopeston, failed to appear for breach of peace, found guilty by default. He was fined and a status hearing set for June 10.

From the Blotter Audrey Powell, 36, of Hoopeston, was arrested after police were called at 6:54 p.m. Wednesday to Parkview Court for a disturbance. She was charged with disorderly conduct and released on a notice to appear in Hoopeston City Court.

Jeff A. Coss, failed to appear at status hearing; hearing rescheduled to June 10.

Fire Calls Hoopeston Fire Department was called at 1:47 p.m. Wednesday to Heritage Health, 423 N. Dixie Hwy., for an activated fire alarm due to a malfunctioning air condi-tioning unit, followed by multiple activated alarms. Fire-men checked out the issues. No injuries were reported.
