Gosford Times 14.7.1916. BROOKLYN The social tendered to Private H. H. Brown on the eve of his departure a second time for the front, last Friday night, was well attended, although the usual prices were charged for admis-sion. At 10pm the hero was presented with a gold wristlet watch and a set of pipes by Mr W. H. Wood, who also acted as chairman of the arranging committee, on behalf of the Citizens of Brooklyn. The presentation was supported by Messrs J Shea, W. Matthews, and J. W. Johnson. The ladies had a supply of scones, cakes, tea and coffee on hand, and the gath-ering did more than sample the collection. Dancing was in-dulged in till the wee small hours of the morning.
