September

Happy October! I am thrilled to be a part of the Top of Virginia Regional Cham-ber, the com-munity’s leading

advocate and champion for busi-ness. TVRC enhances and lever-ages the talents and resources of its diverse members to improve economic opportunities for all. Today, businesses, community leaders and politicians are more dependent on each other for their success! Our community must work together to prosper. The chamber is uniquely quali-fied to be the central resource and focal point to lead this col-laborative effort, and to effect positive change.

Our chamber is knowledgeable and involved in issues that are important to business mem-bers, such as education, health-care, and the financial vitality of the community. TVRC provides unique opportunities for indi-viduals and businesses to make a difference by connecting them to important community issues. We do that in many ways such as: public policy committee, provid-ing opportunities for businesses to interact with top community leaders, research and advocacy for business issues, and commu-nity leadership programs.

As a business, getting involved with the programs you care about connects you to the information and people that will unlock, clar-ify and increase the value of your membership. With its unique leadership opportunities, con-nections to local business lead-ers and business-building initia-tives, the Chamber helps create a

climate of growth and success in which all companies – regardless of size or industry – can prosper.

Here’s your call to action! If you want a higher return on invest-ment for your membership give me a call and let’s talk about where you have the greatest op-portunity for results! One busi-ness owner told me he saw his income increase by $40,000 within 6 months of becoming ac-tive. Another business emptied their showroom after hosting a Chamber ribbon-cutting event for new businesses. We have so many different ways you can become more involved such as sponsorships, lead share groups, networking before or after work, event committees, and more.

Today’s leading communities are those that have a strong, active chamber working on their behalf. It is my belief that a strong, active chamber leads the community. I am ready to lead. The chamber has dedicated, hard-working staff, board of directors, and committee chairs that are ready to help you meet your needs but we cannot do it alone! Are you ready to do your part and enjoy the success and profitability of an active chamber member?

In closing, in the words of the fa-mous, Thomas Edison:

“If we did all the things we are capable of, we would astound ourselves.”

Respectfully,

Top of VA Regional Chamber, CEO

It Is Important To Have the Right Challenger At the Right Time

I recently was at a conference, and like most conferences, I wanted to go to all of the break-out sessions. I go to learn, so I wanted to hear it all.

I heard a lot of things that brought value to me, but one stood out of them all: We were told it is important to have the right challenger in your life at the right time.

As always when something stands out to me I ask myself the question: Did I have that chal-lenger in my life?

My answer: Yes!Click here to continue reading. The Valley Business
