Lead from the front,
Never quit!
August Newsletter
From the Commander Cobras,
As August comes to an end, I want to thank each and every one of you for all your hard work and dedicated support. This month is peak season for in/out-processing Soldiers of the Vicenza Community, so I applaud your unyielding diligence towards your respective duties and responsibilities—all of which play a vital role in accomplishing our unit’s mission.
This month, we bid farewell to our Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs): SSG Ramona Herter and SFC Bahria. They have left a profound impact on Charlie Detachment and we wish them the best of luck in their futures. In the upcoming months, we will regretfully bid farewell to our remaining senior NCOs. Despite these changes, I see this as an opportunity for our junior NCOs and Soldiers to assume more leadership roles and better prepare themselves for future assignments.
Amidst these changing times for our Detachment, I want to mention the topic of reinvention. This world, our country, The U.S. Army-all the way to Charlie Detachment 106 FMSU-are all evolving entities and organizations. Do not be content with the status quo. If you are unsatisfied with something, don’t simply complain but try to fix and improve it. You are all future leaders of our Army. You must be innovative problem solvers and thinkers. I urge you to seek ways to contribute to your team, your squad, and overall, this detachment. Let’s work together to make our Cobra family the best it can be.

From the Detachment Sergeant Cobras,
I want to congratulate everyone on a job well done. During the past month we had several Soldiers on leave, Advance Leaders Course and TDY, despite all of that we still made the mission happen. That is a tribute to the caliber of Soldiers that we have in our ranks. Summer is coming to an end, school is about to be back in session, we have a field training exercise next month, more daunting task, but I have no doubt that we will execute the mission successfully.
We lost our Non Commissioned Officers during the past month as they move on to their new assignments, we bid farewell to SFC Bahria, SSG Cortez, and SSG Herter. We welcomed SGT Lingerfelt and his family, SPC Lwehabura, and PV2 Green. Make sure that you look out for one another, take the new Soldiers out to see Italy. Enjoy your tour here. You might not get another chance to come over to Europe during your military career. Take advantage of this great opportunity that has been afforded to you.
Continue to excel in everything that you do. Set the standards and enforce them. Do not lower your standards to meet someone else's; motivate them and push together as a team. Our OPTEMPO is very high and demanding, we need to continue to meet all challenging demands. Look around in your section and ask yourself if there is anything that you can do to improve the organization.
SFC SANTOS, MELVIN
