Dear Resident ROAD CONSTRUCTION NIGHT WORK ACTIVITIES IN THE SOUTH MELBOURNE AREA FOR WEST GATE FREEWAY UPGRADE: SEPTEMBER 2016 TO FEBRUARY 2017 We are writing to update you about additional night time construction activities that will take place in your area over the coming months as part of the CityLink Tulla Widening project. Works are now underway to build a support structure that will be attached to the side of the freeway to support a new eastbound lane on the West Gate Freeway. Where will we be working We will be working between the inbound and outbound lanes on the West Gate Freeway between Moray Street and Munro Street, South Melbourne, as shown in red on the map below. Our works are expected to progress west to east from Moray Street to Munro Street. When works will occur From September 2016 to February 2017, works will be scheduled every night between 8pm and 5am. Please be advised that the night works outlined above are in addition to the ongoing construction activities in your area that are scheduled Monday to Saturday between 7am and 6pm. What the works involve Setting up traffic management to create a safe, restricted work zone on the West Gate Freeway Setting up traffic management to create safe, restricted work zones on local roads and streets beneath the West Gate Freeway as required Lifting into place new road support beams along the freeway using cranes Installing pre-fabricated floor panels to support the new lane Pouring of concrete to form the new bridge deck structure To minimise any potential disruptions to local residences and businesses, installation of pre- fabricated road floor panels will occur directly after the installation of road support beams. What to expect during construction Traffic management including signage and personnel to safely guide motorists, cyclists and pedestrians

around our work areas in the South Melbourne/Southbank. Traffic management will be in place on: Clarke Street, Whiteman Street, Normanby Road, Clarendon Street, Haig Street and City Road

Minor traffic delays may be experienced by residents and locals in these areas. Please allow extra time for your travel

General construction noise made by concrete trucks and cranes Lights facing towards our work area

This work may be rescheduled in the event of unsuitable weather or other unavoidable circumstances. We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we undertake these important works.

We are committed to keeping residents informed and minimising the impacts during construction, while keeping the community and our workers safe at all times.
